Worldbuilding:

  • Bveriudur: 11th Month of the Northern Calendar, 31 Days long, the darkest of the autumnal season, often associated with dark spirits, warlocks and witches often find it easier to commune with their patrons, hold their secret Sabbats away from civilization.
  • Soulreavers: Unsullied undead where the soul imprisoned within the vessel keeps it from rotting away. The imprisoned souls are slowly stripped off their faculties, gradually become an extension of the necromancer, in some cases, erudite wizards theorize they become a second, spare body for the necromancer. Though how they achieve keeping the soul from passing on, remains a secret to most.
  • Atropos: Dominus of Death’s Hunger, a Dread Regent of the Black Meadows in the Umbral Domains, one suspected as the chief patron of former Regent-President Daemerius who left the former capital of Arghyria infested with undead and servants of the Dominus hungering for anima, souls of the living. Despite its horrid reputation of a ceaseless appetite for souls, one of the most cordial of the Dread Regents.
  • Ang-Thaughtur: Towering capital of Northern-Eoran under the full jurisdiction of the Kingdom of Naireanth. A gargantuan spire spanning nearly a thousand kilometers across the Oidcherin Meadows, whilst scraping the passing clouds with its flat, pronged 350th top level. The oldest structure, predating even the natives of the continent, built by the Higher Courts of the Fae, who occupied not the city, merely resided there during their jaunts into the mortal realm. Later, they allowed their ‘children’ to settle and sprawl within, then when the Heleionians arrived, took the city in the Hundred-Year Siege, and now reside there themselves, mingled with the descendants of the first fey-touched.

Weekly Updates:

  1. Not much to report. The unedited version of the Spookinktober story is up on Subscribestar, started working on the editing, hopefully next week all four will be up.
  2. For that, the editing on the December story falters a bit. Also begin some preliminary outlining on the November story/tales.

Worldbuilding:

  • Elven Style: Also known as the Alvrith Vogue across Heleion and its domains beyond the skies. Incorporates sharpness, angularity with sleek materials, fabrics ranging from the marbleesque elven concrete in architecture to arcane-woven silks, satins, linens, velvets and leathers in clothing. They also often include a sense of asymmetry, be it in materials, be it in the shapes themselves.
  • Eljudnir System: The Seventh Largest System discovered by Erik the Violet, who established the Erikeid Chartered Path connecting Eljudnir with Heleion.
  • Consists of seven planets, six of which serve as agrarian, mining and resort colonies whilst the one nearest to the system’s star became one of the first metropolitan worlds under the jurisdiction, control of the Hoshigawan Shogunate and the Kingdom of Naireanth.
  • Home system of the third largest Voidnaval Port and Factory of the Heleionian Dominion.
  • Ouromandr Serpents: Limbless, blind dragons of the void. Their youngest the size of small moons, adults grow to be nearly as large as Heleion or Eljudnir, the eldest specimen discovered on the rim of the known cosmos, beyond the Belt of the Vidradh System, could have devoured systems. Many on Heleion even theorize that where it perished, once may have been a cluster of systems.
  • Said specimen even provided Heleion with a millennium worth of its ichor used in the production of military equipment, uniforms, and various potions. Its corpse is considered the largest mining colony, shared between the three great powers of Heleion.
  • Their thick, mercurial ichor is used primarily for Ginnuerna Satin of the Black Rose Coven, epidermis strengthening potions, coating on plates of the Voidvessels and protective panoplies of the Voidfarer hosts.
  • Black Rose Clerks: Administrative rank within the coven besides providing workforce for the subsidiaries of the coven, the various shops they own across the chartered Cosmos. Seasoned members also gain shares in said business, and if they are retirees from their branches, could also pursue diplomatic and governing roles instead of following a mercantile path.
  • Vordriarh: Constables, protectors of the Nairenthian Holds meant to combat criminal elements, protecting state (coven) facilities and interests, trained in martial arts and Arcane Arts of Scrying, Warding besides combat-oriented sorceries. Common rank amongst the northern covens.

Updates:

  • So progress. As of now, the December story is one step through the finish line, though there is still the polishing I plan to leave for these past few months.
  • The Bound Diaries story finished, some editing and it will be up for early access here.
  • One last short story focusing on the Black Roses, namely on a clerk, former Drengriarh on Eljudnir I [previously Prime I believe, but naming of planets is still in its early stages].
  • A short story where some thief aims to get the secret recipe to Ginnuerna Satin and Dragonidh Leather. Who this spy is. Good question.
  • The second, Shadow Archives story is kinda halfway done. The first short tale is finished, though needs some editing. May have reached my limit in characters in short stories. A bit too much, but nothing a little editing can’t fix.
  • The second story is halfway done, the third will be shortest probably. The second reached already 2k words, so I may slice it into two part/chapters to have three uploads this month.
  • For October: no firm plan beyond featuring a certain Necromancer, giving her a third story, maybe with the Sakhrath-Ib-Anath. And possibly a continuation of the Serial Killer story I’ve done two years ago for Halloween. The one with the skinner. Or maybe another one. Or two at once. We’ll see.
