From the Great Library of Ang-Saellirith: Our Eminent Allies on the Low Lands of Nauheim. [Exempts]
Beyond the Eptirrion’s divide, two great nations sprawl east and west. Two great nations we fought against in the times we were free from the terror of those sealed in Gehenna. Then with time, and with our sulfurous wounds mended, united whilst pressed into the mud by the sole of Heleion’s last great empire, we fought with in the coming conflicts, shed blood and sweat, son and daughter together.
Fellow nations who likewise built a seidhocratic society alongside us. Great Grauburg and Maurnia, protected by their Eminent Circle and Coven.
Both roughly of the same age, sharing in the fate of their foundation mostly lost to time. In the case of the Wondrous Coven of the Silvern Stag, Dianaril, the Brilliant Lillium of Maurnia, Seeded-Daughter of the Silvern Stag herself endured long, though she never indulged on what year her Coven formed, merely when they donned the silvern hide their main host still wears proudly today. In the case of the Adamant Circle of the Seven, reigning and protecting Grauburg, even the founder’s name got lost in the passage of time, after he fell in the last battle closing the Seven Epochs of the First Crusade.
Some annals did survive, mentioning how unconventional the Unbeugniss – the Circle of the Unyielding – was even at the time. A circle formed not only by erudite students of the great divinities, but also warriors, farmers, street urchins of their young cities, all fed up with the demons and devils sowing terror and chaos. All came together one day and united, blessed by all the Elder Dragons.
Meanwhile in Maurnia, the early Coven itself merely acted as protectors, advisers to small kings and queens, propelled them to a necessary unification, a feeble one as we know from the warring period of Maurnia that followed the First Crusade. A period which seen many kingdoms rise and fall, including their first attempt at establishing a matriarchal monarchy ran by them, acting as Queensguard and Arcane Advisors in tandem. A period in which Maurnia reached its greatest sprawl recorded on maps and in the great tomes of history, as they gobbled great chunks from Grauburg, from us and from nascent Wyruthrin.
Though, corruption–some claim to be demonic–weakened them and their first and last Empire, perished alongside Dianaril. Our poor and beloved Black Rose wept for centuries, and was the first who sued for peace once lands returned under Nairenthian ownership.
In Grauburg, the Unbeugniss Circle spent the first centuries licking their wounds, focusing on the security of their spread-out lands, aided in the reconstructions under the guidance of five Elder Dragons that remained in Grauburg. Once everything returned as it were, they too longed for the days of glory and bloodshed, and entered their own warring period, with their own small kings and queen supported. Around this time, they started following in the steps of our Snow-Scaled Circle, and began gobbling up Circles and Covens they seen as worthy to add to their merry band.
These included the Orichaex, a circle of druid-knights and warriors attuned with nature at the time. Later, proved themselves master of metallurgy combined with the High Arts of Transmutation, resulted in the creation of Orichalcum and Orichalnyrium. Then joined the Mithrethe Coven, an off-shoot of the Wondrous Coven of the Silvern Stag, broken away during the early centuries, and who named themselves after Mithril, the silvern metal gifted by the Elder Dragon to battle against demons and devils. Third to be added to their circle were the Nachfrahr, a circle focused upon divination through stars, a Circle who were less combat savvy, but proven as great war-advisors. Last at the time were the Bluthlar Circle, witch-warriors, knights who learned to enhance, augment their prowess, their reflexes through blood magic, under the guidance of the….
Of course, I must mention to any interested in our broader history, that our Draunneath Circle may not have existed without the Adamant Circle of the Seven. Without them showing how sovereign Circles and Covens can operate as one, it may have merely been just a dream.
…Of course, we it would be foolish of me to leave out great charge of Elk-Hussarianhs, lifting the siege of Narlavyth in the 367th Year of the Second Era of Mending. How they led our unified force against the phalanxes of Seventh and the Ninth Legion, aided by the Einherjaeriths of the Snow-Scaled. Oh, how great must the scent of burned flesh, melted plates, must have been. How great the howls of the great maurnian war-elks and the shrieks of the brave maidens echoed across the howls of the burning legionaries…
…Though I mentioned how we fought mostly side by side with the Adamant’s hosts, as sobering it is to admit it, even whilst vassals to the last great empire of Thulyandiv, we have aided in the death of many of their brothers and sisters. A sin fortunately occurred once only, during the Liberation War of Eoran, where the Black Rose Coven and the Snow-Scaled Circle secretly aided the separatist forces in pushing them out from the northern subcontinent. And later, during the last battle at the Soundless Archipelago, where through explosive provisions, supported the sinkage of their war-vessels on the sea.
…Schiaventiurm may remain independent as a commonwealth of small states protected by their own mountains, one cannot deny the contribution of the Adamant Circle of the Seven in vanquishing the stationed legions. A feat they solely achieved in the first quarter of the Great War…
…Whilst many know of the elk mounting Hussarians of the Wondrous Coven of the Silvern Stag, the eminent coven itself spent a considerable effort on improving their fleets, their armada during the centuries spent as imperial vassals. Beyond raising a great armada of dreadnoughts, the first galleys of tempered steel, they also presented us with ships diving and striding beneath the waves, providing much needed stealth and another venue to combat the great beasts of the sea.
Inventions, which later also aided in lifting the blockade at South Eoran’s western shores, the encircling of the Albionian Archipelago. And the retribution wrought upon the armadas of the Sultanate….
News and Commentary:
- This was a rough week. Got lucky again, and with each new year, I began this with some minor ailments, this time with some aching of my jaw and cheek, possibly some infections that thankfully passed. But it seriously hindered some progress. mostly worldbuilding stuff.
- Speaking of which, I wanted to and include a little more, so some additions that I couldn’t fit in above. First, like how the Snow-Scaled and the Black Rose have their beautification elixirs, that grant a somewhat uniform look to all members, these two have their own. For the Adamant Circle of the Seven, it is a bit similar to the Snow-Scaled, a potion that grants dragonesque features, whilst also granting a luster, strength and durability to skin, on the same level as tempered steel. In addition of limitless lifespan, bone and muscle augmentations.
- For the Wondrous Coven of the Silvern Stag, it is closer to the Black Roses, granting them an unparalleled elvish beauty with some adages. Such as a silvern tone granted to all races to their velvety smooth and lustrous skin, their hair growing lush and velvety, but also the root of their hair becomes silver. Their ears are do lengthen, but resemble more the ears of elks rather than elves, though less upright. Lastly, all their pupils become wide and slit looking, with the center a dark blue, the edges pale silver.
- Another thing that partially got left out, and though to some extent also got left out last week, are the classes. Though the Hussarians got a honorable mention, though it was more a reminder for me to someday include the elk cavalry in some shape or form. Though the common classes, and the highest had been developed for both. With the Adamant Circle, I even expanded that their highest consists of not just the Adamant-Regent, but also there is the Adamant-Marshall, who is more the supreme military leader of all their Circles, and Adamant-Meister, a more administrative class/position who manages stately and arcane affairs, mostly the administration of their Academies and Arcane-Rights.
- With the Wondrous Coven, I leave their classes for later, as their names are a mixture of Finnish, Estonian and Hungarian, and still figuring it which branch uses which language [with some changes]. It is a bizarre feeling using one’s own language in this way.
- And on a last small note, I also decided on the color coding, touched on a little above. Namely, the Wondrous Coven will have predominantly silver coats, pants, skirts, boots and so on, whilst the Adamant Scales will be a bit more varied because of their somewhat peculiar structure. For example, the Mithrethe Coven will use the same color for their outerwear, whilst the chief, Unbeugniss Circle will probably use Prussian Blue or some Bluish-Black.
- Regarding the February Story, I finished the last two stories, and will start editing next week. Hopefully by the end will be up on here, the four early access chapters. Will also began working on the March stories, the two Bound Diaries, and a Shadow Archive that I figured out will be a scenario-based story, one involving a bit of smut.
- That is all for this week. Next week, worldbuilding section will focus on the Wyruthrin Eminent Coven and the Hoshigawan Eminent Circle, the last of which will be a chief player in the December story. So, till next week, take care and have a pleasant week folks!
