Weekly WIP #40

• King of Fighters - Ángel
• Mass Effect - Commander Shepard
• Dynasty Warriors - Guan Yinping

• Weekly #40. Sometimes it seems like it should be a lower number and other times more.

• Ángel got some lighting sorted. Decided to do the machine as a standard beat for the music and the lighting can change for the rest. A lot like Poison Ivy's. Wasn't sure how to set the background, then came across some club scene pictures and just removed the 'room' past the cage she's in and cranked up the lights hitting the crowd with some volumetrics. Seems to work well.

• Shepard is back in focus to work on. As I said before, it was far too along to abandon. Some lighting needs tweaked a bit and one scene needs a lot of pose work on the background, then it might be ready for a release. I want to try to improve my onscreen text information; how it looks and is portrayed.

• Yinping didn't get much worked on this week. To be honest, it's been so hot here, with no wind moving, and this house sucks so it's been miserable. Between the storms causing me to not work at all, trying not to melt inside my own home and working on the others, she didn't get much attention.

• What is with the weather this year? We're under a heat advisory where I live and it's suppose to storm most of next week. I think it needs to just relax with this crazy for awhile.

Weekly WIP #39

• Dynasty Warriors - Guan Yinping
• King of Fighters - Ángel

• Posting early, so when I do go to sleep, I can maybe sleep later than usual. Lot of things have kept me tired lately. I didn't get to work as much this week on things as I wanted either, but progress all the same.

• Very pleased to announce Yinping's hair was a render setting issue. Yay. I was afraid I'd have to scrap the project or make it super janky to get around that. Toyed with the idea of setting it at night to try to hide the issue, but it didn't fit as well for some reason as daytime. So yeah, sorting that helped a lot on it. Figuring out how many transitions to have for her.

• Ángel is the preview video. It's short and mostly just to show some of the scene. A ton of lighting is needed to set the scene correctly; maybe the most lighting of anything so far. I'm not showing much of the animation in the preview yet. Her machine theme is different and I like to keep that a surprise for a while.

• Worked some on Mass Effect - Shepard. Not a ton, but some. It was further along than I recalled. Not too much more and it could be set and released.

Weekly WIP #38

• King of Fighters - Ángel (Name Pending)

• It's always more fun to interact, isn't it? The Yellow Turban think so. Yinping, not so much. Something is a little off with her hair though. I think it might just be a render setting, since I keep them low/off for previews. I'll have to test that. Could also be the maps built in settings. I didn't notice if there was an issue on the Welcome video, but the background was dark.

• Took awhile to sort what to have going on with Ángel, but once I did it took off. The general timing is set, which lets everything flow nicely. The background characters for her are the kind you might see in the fighter style games; generic people moving enough to look 'alive'. Thought the idea was suiting for it.

• Both projects still need a lot of work. Ángel's is barely started really. No news on the OC Model front. I might be music hunting again soonish. Can never have enough music.

Weekly WIP #37

•  Dynasty Warriors - Guan Yinping (Unnamed Project)
•  Misc.

•   Fiancée had surgery last Monday, will be down for some time and I'm the 'nurse', so this week was rough overall for getting much done. Progress though in various areas. Next week will be a little better.

• The Dynasty Warriors 'machine', for the most part, is pieced together. My friend who previews nearly everything agrees the rickety aspect of it is very fitting to the scene. I have Yinping on it and moving already, but I didn't want to spoil that just yet. Getting the gears to actually spin a full circle over and over was not easy to do. You have to go about it all weird. The fire in the braziers are a bit large too, but that can be sorted as I go. Still a lot to do with the scene as a whole. Transitions sorted, created, etc. The 'Yellow Turban' soldiers are texture edited, the flags still need some work I think, and Yinping has her textures edited also. Still figuring out what all is going on in the background too.

•  Not sure what do to with Ángel yet. I just know I want to use her. Black Menagerie Club? A fight theme scene? Something totally random?

•  Came across some fun music videos and my desire to make a band playing instruments kicked in again, so that's an idea I've been starting up a little. Nothing for certain.
