Weekly WIP #29

  • 'Window Sale' - Detroit: Become Human

  • Scene building takes time. It can be fun though. Can be a pain too. 'Window Sale' is a simpler concept, much like Mouse Cleaning, so once it's all set and ready it shouldn't take long to make something out of it. Right Picture is one of the androids acting like a mannequin/showman for the displays. A bit distracted by what's going to be happening below her though. Curious if anyone recognizes who she is/was after my edits on the textures.

  • A lot of time was spent getting things for an OC going. Left Picture is the 'basic' idea of what I want for her. Subject to change as time goes on. I've been chatting with someone about her creation. Lot of flexes I want. Lot of specific bones too. I'm being picky. She won't be cheap to make. Once she is though, she'll be filtered into animations in the background, as an extra, and slowly build up to her own thing(s). And since I decided she'd be grounded in the Mass Effect universe, I'm getting her a background made. Name, age, PoB/DoB, etc. Sort of like making a role play character for some game.

  • Cleaning out folders sucks. It's not the loss of things, (hell I didn't even realize I had a lot of it,) it's the time to do it and the tediousness of it. It speeds up the processes though. Source Filmmaker won't be loading 35k+ models every time I go to find something I haven't added to the Model Favoriter Script listing (Lord Aardvark creation), causing it to bloat the memory and potentially crash til I reload. Also means I have less things to go through with hardly any use. I had a bunch of World of Warcraft models. Yeah, at one time that was going to be a thing, then I decided 'eh'. I've come across some Half Life models I never noticed before. Useful for scene building.

  • Texture edits galore. Some weeks I've spent a lot of time with music. This last one has had a lot of textures. Probably because of the OC and the cleanups. (Do I want to toss this model, or can I edit the textures enough to make it useful? Which skin textures do I already have that looks good for the OC?)

Weekly WIP #28

  • New Cure - Mass Effect (Female Shepard)
  • "Storefront" - Detroit: Become Human
  • Misc.

  • Monday morning, around 4am, I had an idea. I decided I liked the idea so much that I would at least put together the scene build for when I got around to working on it. A few days later, I had nearly 3 minutes worth of it animated. The idea was Femshep being a 'cure' to the Genophage. I did mention I had Mass Effect on the brain (picture bottom left). Focus is mostly split between this project and Valentine's.

  • Kara (Detroit: Become Human) is sent out shopping. She decides to take a different route, passing by storefronts she's never seen before. What will she find there? (Top picture) a background image for a tv ad I'm creating for the window scene. It's kinda neat looking I think and should work well. The storefront (picture bottom right) scene being built. I've had this idea for a long time. Not sure why I never started it before.

  • I've not stopped the 'Magic Gone Wrong', but I admit it's becoming more tedious to continue; so, it's something I work on sporadically and will end up more of a loop instead of a larger project.

  • I've been trying to contact model creators to get an OC (Original Character) started. I've settled on the character being more grounded in the Mass Effect Universe, though not limited to it. Thus far, I have found few creators and those I have seem to not respond. I will keep at it though. In the meantime, I'm finding more props I'd like ported, though even that has become an issue. Seems a lot are not willing to port NSFW props, even ones that are not explicit in appearance. I can understand that, but it's making this a pain.

  • I left off the 'watermark' logo from the D:BH background. Someone on Discord mentioned it might make a nice desktop background. All the images for it were taken from CleanPNG and PngTree sites.
