Supporter Newsletter - Plans for 2024
Hello everyone,
First of all, I wanna apologize for the lack of art this past year, no, the lack of activity in general. My fears and self doubt got the better of me and caused me to lose motivation to be present and to create things. I'm currently waiting in line for an appointment with a therapist to seek some help with my low self esteem issues, my lack of confidence, my imposter syndrome and and many other issues I struggle with internally constantly. All of this also affected me in many other ways too, I have several health related issues, which are mainly caused by the problems above. But I've had enough.
I want to change, start fresh and experiment more, learn (and re-learn) more. Learn how to walk again. Which is why I made the following decisions:
Starting in 2024, I'll be "rebranding" to just 'Scarlet Samidare' or simply 'Samidare'. Starting fresh under a new name should allow me to view things in a different way, change some aspects of how I handle things and focus more on the things that make me happy.
Truthfully, I've been meaning to change my name for a while now, I just don't feel the current one has a nice ring to it anymore, as I once did 10 years ago when I first made it. So this rebrand will also serve this purpose.
You can still call me by my old name if you prefer it (some places won't let me change it even), but going forward this will be my new name. Besides, 'Scarlet Spy' is still a name I will use for some things, so it's not completely gone. And it's not like I'm gonna go over all my previous works and change the name there either, so they will still be signed with my old name. lol

With all that being said, my plans for 2024 are a lot simpler this time: just do stuff. More stuff. Push myself a little harder. Do better. Change it up. Hopefully I can make a turnaround in my life and get things moving again. Go back to how it was a couple years ago.
It will be a little bit until I accommodate myself to the changes and things I wanna do, but hopefully everything should start moving at a steady pace as soon as I start.
I'm glad you all enjoyed the few pieces of art I put out last year and I hope to make a lot more for this one, as well as more doodles and sketches, and share more of my work behind the scenes.
Thank you all who stuck with me thus far, you're wonderful (and VERY patient) and I appreciate you a lot! I hope I can make things more worthwhile in the future for you and for me.

Supporter Newsletter: New features, Tier Reestructure and Commission Prices
Hello! Welcome to the Supporter Newsletter, a little personal blog of mine where I go over some stuff that I've been up to and some general updates.
It's been a while since I did one of these, but as mentioned previously they will still be my way of communicating updates and other important stuff!
Which brings me to the first subject of this Newsletter, which is...
Introducing: Timelapses!
That's right at long last, it's here.
This idea has been cooking for a bit and I have been recording most of my projects since last year, using CSPs Timelapse function, and now I have a lot of raw videos for them, all I needed was to work out a few other details and find a good and reliable editing software, and these have been done.
I am currently using Kdenlive, which is free and open source, and it works great. I definitely recommend if you're also on the lookout for Premier/Vegas alternatives (broke gang rise up! lol)
I'm rendering some of them as I write this (and hoping my PC doesn't explode along the way lol), and will start posting them soon for the Scarlet Devil tier.
I also plan to make some of these timelapses available for everyone publicly as well every now and then, but in a shorter/simpler format.

With that outta the way, I'll now address what you read in the title of this post: the tiers.
Tier Reestructure
As you may guess, with the inclusion of Timelapses, I figured now would be a good time to move some stuff around and down to the other tiers in cascade, to offer a better value to them. Such changes are:
►Tip Jar
New feature:
- Exclusive SFW and NSFW Sketches
TJ will now get Supporter Exclusive SFW and NSFW Sketches, truthfully they kinda already do since I don't post my sketches publicly much, but now it's official. That being said, I'll start releasing some sketches to public to fill in the gaps between my works...
(...Because God only knows how long some of those can be... haha... ha... I seriously need to change that).

►Red Magic
Added feature(s):
- Early access
- Exclusive SFW-R15 works.
Similarly to TJ, they kinda already have early access, but now it's official. This feature was previously on the Meister tier but wasn't really being used, so now it will be, one tier below. Early access usually varies from work to work, but the minimum amount is 2 days. Some may take longer and some may never be made public at all... ahem, what I mean by this is that this tier will also get Exclusive SFW-R15 works from now on. I plan on doing at least one exclusive every month, and I mean it this time.
►Scarlet Meister
Added feature(s):
- Ask me Anything
- Art Suggestion Box
- Step-By-Step (formerly known as "Behind The Scenes")
New feature:
- Exclusive R16-R18/NSFW works
AMAs will be moving down to this tier and the rules remain the same: I'll be answering the 5 (that I deem the) best questions in the form of little doodles. The Art Suggestions Box and the Step-By-Step features will also be moved down here. I'll implement the changes soon and so if you're on this tier, you'll be able to see the posts related to those features soon. Also similarly to the RM tier, this one will get exclusive works monthly.
Also the name I renamed BTS to Step-By-Step is simply because Timelapses also count as BTS so the former name will now be used as an umbrella term for all kinds of BTS stuff I make, such as WIP updates, Discussions, Step-By-Step and Timelapses.
►Scarlet Devil
New feature(s):
- Timelapses
- Free sketch (first time-only, but may reset once every couple months)
Added full Timelapse videos and will now also include a free sketch, these two should make up for the "loss" of exclusivity of the Step-by-step and Art Suggestions. I also have some plans to bring back PSDs of my works, for this tier. This requires some setting up and prepping though, so when it's ready I'll let you know!
All of these new and old features will exist ALONGSIDE the features the tiers previously had. They will take place within 48h max of posting this.
Commission Prices Readjustment
Moving right along, I also have some updates regarding my commission prices.
I attempted to raise my prices a little while ago, but as it turns out, they might be a bit too much now.
Therefore I've decided to lower some of them and/or revert them to their previous prices, at least for now.
After all I'd rather get more cheaper commissions than get none at all haha...
And to that extent, I also plan to host more sales, art raffles and request events in the future.

Supporter Newsletter - July, 2022
Hello again! Welcome to the July edition of the Supporter Newsletter, a little personal blog of mine where I go over some stuff that I've been up to in the past month and some general updates.
General Updates
I've been doing a lot of meditation and self-reevaluation this past month. As mentioned previously, I've been trying to get over some bad habits of mine and trying to be more positive overall. I've also been trying to stay away from the Internet as often as before, specially Social media, since it's very easy to not only get sidetracked but it also isn't good for one's mental health. I'm mainly trying to avoid bad topics and noise like drama and stuff, and have focused more on things that make me smile and feel happy. It's been helping a lot, I have to say. I recommend it to anyone who is going through some tough times. Which has been very common as of late.
In terms of art, I've been doing more research on stuff I usually struggle with, like watching some tutorial videos, timelapses, reading a bunch etc, and I've also been sketching and practicing a bunch too, the results can mostly be seen in the sketches I posted. I feel like my passion for art (and doing art) has been burning increasingly brighter because of it. I'll keep pushing myself to break more boundaries and destroy all the roadblocks I encounter.
One thing that has been bothering me still is the feedback loop. I clearly am still not doing 100% good in terms of art and promoting myself, but I've been trying to come up with some plans to get better. You might notice some of the stuff more and more as I go along. And also, as always, I'm still open for suggestions!
There will be some changes happening soon to the Tier structure on my Patreon, SubscribeStar and Fanbox. Nothing too major like the previous re-structure, this time I just wanna adjust and tweak some things and maybe introduce some new ones *wink wink*. So keep an eye out for them!

Supporter Newsletter - May & June, 2022
Last month I didn't write one of these because I didn't have much to talk about really, so I decided to leave it to this month and summarize everything.
General Updates
I started doing a lot more sketches lately as you may have noticed, and I've decided this is mostly how I wanna move forward. Some of those sketches will definitely become full projects but at least now I have stuff to fill in the gaps in between said projects, since sometimes it takes me a long time to finish something. I'll try to keep a schedule for them here, but be posting them regularly on my Discord server.
I'll still be posting separate WIPs however, if I happen to have an idea that I am 100% sure I'll pursue as a project (like commissions, or special occasions).
I've been keeping a close eye at the progress/feedback I achieve/receive from my platforms (Patreon, SubscribeStar and Fanbox), and I can't help but feel I'm doing something wrong. I even created more tiers/price options to ease people into stuff if they don't feel so sure about supporting me fully. But maybe my content just isn't interesting enough, or maybe I don't post enough, it's hard to tell. I might have to start being more aggressive with my self advertisement, but it is very challenging to try and find a good balance to it, since I know how constant ads can be annoying and don't wanna overdo it. Or maybe I'm just too naïve or just don't have what it takes...
In terms of productivity, I've been trying to set up a schedule/routine for myself and follow it for the past 2 months and also have been doing exercises to counter my ADHD and make myself more productive. It's hard to keep at it but I'm trying my best. For now I suppose I just gotta keep pushing myself and see if I get better at some point. I'll also be posting some of those sketches I mentioned previously on Twitter and stuff, just to get my name out there more often and not become irrelevant.
Sometimes I can't help but feel like this is all futile... But I try to brush it off as much as I can, and to not stress myself over it too much, although it can get to me from time to time, which in turn can cause me to get demotivated.
But well I'm not giving up just yet, so if any of you reading this have any feedback or suggestions to me in regard to any of these things, feel free to let me know in the comments or on my Discord, any help and feedback is welcome!

Supporter Newsletter - March & April, 2022
Last month I didn't write one of these because I didn't have much to talk about (and quite frankly, still don't) really for reasons I'll go into further in this very post, so I decided to leave it to this month and summarize everything.
General Updates
I didn't really felt like doing much last month, I was focusing mostly on working on the commissions I got, at a very slow pace, and was overall really unmotivated and mentally drained to give it my all. I keep getting too self conscious about every little thing and my mood is all over the place as a result, making it hard for me to feel like doing anything at all. In a moment I'm happy and laughing and then the next I'm sulking and feeling pathetic.
Thus, I decided to mostly rest and try to meditate a bit on what I wanted to do moving forward, and to try and "fix" myself.
I still haven't truly found an answer, but it had been too long already with radio silence, so for now, I'll just try my best to pick up things again this month, be a better person and post more stuff. But I'd still like to apologize for the slow/empty last month.

Supporter Newsletter - Feb, 2022
Hello there everyone, I'm back! And it is time once again to summarize the last month!
General Updates:
I did quite a good number of things last month, art wise, and that makes me feel very happy, because it is very much closer to how I actually want to operate my stuff. It did wear me out a little bit though, specially since I had to kind of rush some stuff out to account for my vacation.
Which as some of you may know, I went on a little vacation trip and got some much needed rest. I really needed that because life can be very overwhelming sometimes and that can really affect my work flow, I was feeling way too stressed out all the time and my mind was just not working the way I wanted, so this trip helped me get away from all that stress for a bit. I feel very relieved already, and I hope I can get to stay calmer.
This trip is also part of my 'getting my shit together' plan that I mentioned on the previous Newsletter.
About my Art:
I've decided that starting this month I'm gonna stop making so many new WIPs and am gonna focus on working on the tons of other projects I already have pilled up. Sketches and doodles can still happen, but I don't wanna commit to making new "projects" until I've cleared at least 80% of the stuff that I have to be done.
There's some stuff here that I posted a WIP for months ago, some even a whole year... So yeah, I need to get to those.
On other (self-improvement) updates:
I'm trying to stay positive as best as I can, but it is very hard not to fall back into the depressing loop I was before, as life can be very stupid sometimes, and the minor inconveniences just keep on hammering on my back, sometimes even making me question whether I should keep going or just let it all go... But I try not to entertain these thoughts too much, as they can get very scary sometimes. I can only hope that I can get better and happier
For that I'm making all the necessary changes to lay out the ground for my better physical and mental health. I still feel the weight of all the things I mentioned on my last SN, but hopefully they'll all wear out with time. Please do feel free to come and talk to me if you want to. Can be about anything, really. Getting to talk to people might also help me, as I do tend to feel lonely quite a lot after all.
I've also been considering going to therapy... But this is something that I need to give some better thought. So for now I'll just leave it at that. I'll let you people know if I decide to take this action.

We haven't achieved any goals just yet!
