Weekly Update - Shooting In Every Directions
What's that image attached to this post? A girl you've never seen before, huh? Weird.
Anyway...

I have honestly no idea what's going to happen with the secret October game. I started working on it anyway. I basically copied the Yumi-Chan Ren'Py project and just started making changes to the UI and stuff so I don't waste too much time on the basics.
Writing has also started and I've had at least one new idea to make it a more distinct game than the others before, like a small and very simple game mechanic that could make this a bit more of a challenge than just a kinetic novel. We'll see.
I'm just worried that the new artist might be too busy to follow up quickly with successive commissions from me. It is not something I will ever hold against an artist (if they're so successful that they are too busy, it should be celebrated more than denigrated) , but it puts me in a position where I must review my own expectations of the project.
I sometimes wish I had a dedicated artist on the payroll, but alas, Peach Punch is still making humble revenue so that's not in the cards. Plus, I think I like the idea of having all sorts of different art styles for every project. It keeps my entire game catalog very stimulating to the eye, I believe.

As for the latest poll, Jester won in a landslide victory, so he will be the next victim of Vivian's lewdness in the upcoming build for The Bodyguard Girl 2. I have already sent artist Manob0028 the commission reference material so they can start working as soon as possible. There is no time to lose this month, after all.
I still consider making a build of the game last minute if I don't have enough material for the secret game, which is looking more and more likely. Oh well, what can I do? I refuse to pressure the artists in any way so we'll get what we'll get, when we get it.

Another back-up plan would be to have a new build for Don't Flex On Me Yumi-Chan!!! ready for the end of October. Artist Chayon is currently working on a commission for a H Scene that will be added to Episode 05 (you know, the choice you couldn't make in the latest build?), and that scene has me quite excited. It's a scene about an idea I've had a while ago and cannot wait to see realized. Nothing too wild, but it should be cool.
This is art I should receive in the next week or so, meaning this is a build I could churn out rapidly, would include new art and I could take the time to fix every little thing that bugged me about the latest build.

And that's it. As stated in the header of this update, this week feels like I'm shooting in every direction at once, hoping one of my shots will hit its target. Lots of spinning plates right now, just waiting to see which commission arrives first so I can focus on it. I still don't know what the rest of my month of October will look like.
One last note : it is finally Fall. My favorite season. We're planning to go to a cornfield maze this weekend, which is something I have never done before and I am quite looking forward to. Halloween is coming up, and it is always my favorite time of the year. Time to go shopping for spooky decorations. Next October, should I make a spooky monster girl game? Food for thought.
Remember, stay safe out there!
