Decision (and a small additional poll)


Alright then,
votes had started to fizzle out, and the trend didn't change much, either.
So I felt there was little point in prolonging this; any additional day in limbo means a day not working on that game, after all.
And I've honestly had enough of breaks, uncertainty and going in circles.
And of course, as has become the norm for any polls where I hope for a clear winner...
with Patreon and SubStar votes combined, it ended up being a ridiculously tight race at the top, meaning the "I can't make everyone happy, no matter what I do" went into full effect once again 😅
That said, given the combined votes from both platforms and some other factors, 

I'm going with the TM spin-off.

  • it won here and was close on Patreon; all votes combined it was a literal tie at 65-65.
  • While backer votes were slightly in favor of the Sarah VN after weighting, it was still in "roughly a tie" territory; far from the clear result I had hoped for.
  • While it's true that I had no strong preference, I did mention that I was leaning a bit towards the TM spin-off in the event of a close result.
  • In terms of comments and DMs, the TM spin-off got more vocal support.
  • For the TM spin-off, I already have a fairly clear idea about almost every aspect of it;
    For the Sarah VN, I'd have much more planning and pre-production to do first, which also means more risk of another HHR situation.

Anyway, if the Sarah VN had won clearly (both places combined), I'd have rolled with it.

But with the result we have, I'm going with what I think I'll enjoy more, and probably do a better/faster job with.

With that out of the way, I want to make one thing clear:
It will have TM-style harem content, too, and the 'other stuff' will be fully avoidable.
So I'd like some feedback on the following questions:
Question 1: One big game with everything, or separate editions?
The main reason I'm asking is that a smaller, separate "Pure Harem Edition", with all controversial content removed, could be offered earlier at a cheaper tier.
That's the "compensation" I could offer for going with this kind of project.
However, an extra edition means some extra work too, so it's only worth it if enough of you actually care for it.
Question 2: To what degree will you give it a chance?
Kinda connected to the above.
Are you willing to look past the existence of the optional content, and give the harem content a chance?
Or will you go "hard pass" no matter what?
And how many of you plan to check out the controversial side?

EDIT: For clarification, "spicier stuff" in the 4th Q2 option is mostly referring to the NTS/soft NTR side of things; basically, the NTS equivalent of the "really looking forward to the harem path" option.

A fitting end to a disastrous year


Hey everybody!
GoV 1.0.5 is now done and in early access (see previous post)... over a week late, barely 9 hours before the year ends in my timezone.
Oh well, better late than never, I think.
So yeah, although I've already gone through multiple internal crises between 2022-2024 already, more than what might've been visible on the outside (except for the occasional slow/small updates), this year was definitely the one where the cracks became visible to everyone, with the HHR cancellation as the "climax".
I could write a whole essay about the how and why, and to a degree I've already done so related to HHR.
I'll repeat some of what I said before, it's not just one issue, but a combination, meaning there's no easy solution:
  • IMO, at this rate, my country (well, not just mine) might get nuked as early as 2027.
    And the thought scares me sh*tless and depresses me, to a point that on some days I can't get anything done, because everything feels so pointless.
     (I don't feel like talking about it due to how charged and controversial politics are in general nowadays, but let's just say IMO the risk is higher than what many people want to accept, and a lot of people are in denial or believe the wrong side [the likely attacker] and blame the wrong side [our own]. Classic Stockholm syndrome on a bigger scale.)
  • My cognitive abilities are in decline.
    My memory in particular has gotten way worse over the past 3-4 years, and it was never that good to begin with.
    No idea if it's long/post-COVID (had it in May 2022), early dementia, or simply the combo of aging, lack of exercise and worsening depression/burn-out, but in any case, I'm gradually getting worse and worse at focusing and remembering things, which is making my dev efforts more and more challenging.
  • I have some other health issues that suggest I might not get that much older, regardless of the previous 2 points.
  • I've outgrown the kinks I so far covered in my games.

This last point is actually a huge problem, one that I've tried to ignore for too long, and one reason why the last 2 years have gone rather poorly for me.
There used to be 4 main reasons why making 18+ games was fun for me:
- Creating hot girl models, 
- making hot scenes with them, 
- embedding those in a nice, fun story, 
- and making money doing all that.
But now,
- money is no longer a motivation for me, because it feels the end is near
- the story I cared about most would take too long to make (HHR)
- GoV had no story,
- the scenes and situations found in my current/previous games and similar games have largely grown stale to me, and creating "more of the same boring stuff" has become such a tedious, demotivating task, that I massively struggle to get anything done at all.
In short, I'm no longer capable of making relatively vanilla stuff at any acceptable pace.
My brain is so tired of it, that it just shuts down or goes into procrastination/distraction mode every time I have to make a scene I find boring to make.
Scenes that should objectively take 2-3 hours to make at most, sometimes take me 2-3 days and drain me of all energy in the process.
What used to work, is just not working anymore.
So yeah, it's ultimately down to 2 choices for next year:
1) From now on, do only stuff that still excites me enough to keep going, even if many of you may not enjoy most of it,
2) give up for good, and end my developer career.
...That being said, if I chose 2), everybody would lose.
With option 1), I hope to have fun making games again, and at least some of you will still get something they enjoy.
And who knows, maybe there'll be enough vanilla content that some of the rest will still somewhat enjoy it, too.
Anyway, once GoV's early access ends for good, I'll pause billing for another month, afterwards I'll hopefully have something to show for.
But more importantly for today:
I wish you a Happy New Year!
Make sure to celebrate it and enjoy life as much as you can; it's precisely when life is hard and the world is in turmoil that you need to defy all that by having fun whenever you can.
In 2026, I'll try to do what I still can to contribute to that.

Upcoming Christmas/New Year presents

Hey everyone,

sorry for the radio silence, but after GoV 1.0 I needed a bit of a break.

Anyway, I'm back to working on stuff, and to tell you that you'll definitely get some stuff for Christmas.

Public Release of GoV 1.0.1
This was admittedly planned to be sooner, but 1.0 needed some bugfixes (1.0a still has at least 2 unfixed bugs that will be adressed in the public release).
I'll probably add a small content extra to make up for the delay.
Edit: It's out now on itch.io

Wallpapers
Last year, each subscription platform got 1 exclusive 1080p Xmas wallpaper for subscribers, a TM-themed one on Patreon, and a Sarah one here.
This year,
- each platform will get the wallpaper it previously missed out on,
- the 1080p ones will be public (see below, just right-click -> save),
- plus there'll be subscriber-exclusive AI-upscaled 1440p and 2160p (4K) versions for both (in a dedicated post here).

Early Access to GoV 1.0.5 (or 1.1.0, not sure yet how I'll call it...)
There will be another GoV content update, focused on more sandbox options around the house and office.
Don't expect huge amounts of new content, but it'll definitely add more new content than 1.0 did over 0.9.9, I can guarantee at least that much.
Planned Tier 2(+) release: Dec 21st
Tier/Level 1 release: Dec 25th
Public: Jan 01 2026.

SubscribeStar-exclusive (until public release):
The next (and probably last) Venus Stories episode.
This one is centered around Julia (the version of her from the "My Naughty Neighbor" world), concludes the "classroom arc", and will lean towards femdom.
Nothing too special, neither long nor many animations, but I've had the script ready for a long time and felt it'd be a waste to never finish it, so I finally managed to bring myself to do the renders.
Tier 2(+) release: Dec 21st
Tier 1 release: Dec 25th
Public: Jan 01 2026.

The dream that wasn't meant to be


Alright folks,
as you can maybe already guess from the title,
I will continue making adult games, but...
I will not continue HHR for the forseeable future.
After lots and lots of thinking, pondering and going in mental circles for over 3 months, weighing several options, I always ended up at the same conclusion regarding HHR:
It just won't work.
Between HHR-specific issues, me-specific issues and what's going on in the world in general, I just don't see it.
I'll be honest with you:
The previous post on this topic was already supposed to say mostly what this one does... but, tbh I got cold feet at the last second, and instead made that "story-HHR vs. TM2" poll.
In hindsight, that was a bad idea, because the proposed "story-focused HHR" wouldn't solve some of the biggest challenges I'm facing with it.

The reasons

1) Mental Disconnect
The biggest issue.
HHR was my dream project in 2022, with the original idea pre-dating even TM.
...But that was over 3 years ago, and the vibe and idea behind it was something I came up with when I was still a more naive and less negative person.
Some events in my worklife and the world at large over the past ~2.5 years have made me such a negative and pessimistic person that working on this game now actively depresses me, because it reminds me of better (or at least, less bad) times.
And it's actually been that way since even before launch.
My gut feeling had already warned me this would become a problem.
But since HHR was the game I always wanted to make, I brushed away that feeling, hoping it would get better once I got into the groove.
...But it never did. My gut feeling was right, and I should've listened to it.
2) HHR is too big for me
The other 'big' issue. Literally.
HHR always meant a lot to me... probably too much, as weird as it sounds.
Because as a result, I kept scope-creeping characters and story elements into my plans that were not part of the original idea, and grew the concept and cast to a size I can't really mentally handle.
I thought I had been realistic enough about the scope of my plans... but if we factor in issue 1) and issue 3) below, ultimately I wasn't. I had been deceiving myself.
With HHR, I was basically chasing an old dream... and when I stepped onto the road towards it and reached for the stars, I got run over by the Truck-kun of reality.
Sucks, but it's true.
3) (Lack of) Time
I've mentioned this before, but due to my health slowly getting worse (age, genetics, lifestyle mistakes) and what's going on in the world in general, it feels like my window of opportunity to make those games might be shrinking faster than any of us would like.
3 years at best, only about 1 year at worst is my estimate.
And due to 1) and 2), that's far too close to make HHR the game it was meant to be.
Probably even if I somehow managed to overcome issue 1) and develop it at full speed.
4) Priorities
Related to the time issue, I also have some other, smaller concepts I really want to realize before it's too late.
And those ideas are more limited and realistic in scope, and right now I'd also feel more at home with those mentally, too.

Anyway, those are the big ones.
There's some additional smaller reasons that contributed to this decision, but the 4 above were the main ones.
I'm not doing this lightly, I understand the stigma of a dev abandoning a game early.
But no matter how promising the concept, characters and story of HHR might be, it ultimately had one major conceptual flaw:
It doesn't properly account for my own weaknesses and limits, and even less for my current state and the situation of the world around us.

What's next (for the rest of 2025)

- GoV 1.0 for subscribers later this week (with some new Mia content)
- public GoV 1.0 and TM 1.1 (bugfixes, some new content) in late November
- SubscribeStar-exclusive: early access to next (final) Venus Stories episode
- subscribers will also get some exclusive Christmas benefits in December

Okay, but what's the next main project? TM2?

Actually... not exactly.
I want to be extra careful to not bite off more than I can chew again, since I want to avoid a repeat of this situation at all costs.
So while it is TM-based, calling it TM2 might raise wrong expectations, so I may go with a different title.
What I can say is, I want to focus on fewer girls, prioritise number of scenes per girl over number of girls, and take a new approach on the kink side, too.
I'll talk more about it later in a dedicated post; this one is too long already, and I need to flesh out and decide on some more details first (and finalize character models).

And when?

Realistically, not before sometime in January.
I might throw in another vacancy month after Christmas if I feel it might take too long.

GoV 0.9.9 on track for Sunday


Hey everyone,
I'm working on the last new event right now and expect to be done sometime tomorrow, so GoV 0.9.9 is on track for the promised release dates of Oct 12 for Level 2+ and Oct 19 for Level 1 supporters, respectively (assuming CEST timezone).
Exact release time is still TBD, but it's basically "within the next 45 hours" (but I'm trying to have it ready as soon as possible).
It'll feature the following additions and changes (vs. 0.9.6):
  • New Mia shower event and "upgrade" for her shower sandbox after that event
  • New special event/sandbox with Isabella and Diane
  • New MILF sidewoman Beatrice event/sandbox (woman no. 10 from recent poll)
  • New GILF sidewoman Daphne event/sandbox (woman no. 7 from recent poll)
  • Sandbox content for Nina (girl no. 6 from poll, her event was added in 0.9.6)
  • House schedule improvement 1: Grace is now always around somewhere
  • House schedule improvement 2: Mia's shower scene is now easier to access, since she now showers in the evening twice a week, so you won't always have to go through the wake-up/breakfast routine to get there
  • Textbox shadow can now be completely disabled in settings
  • Bugfix for possible issue with Sarah's 3rd/4th events
  • New "Visit" option in your room (after unlocking a visitable girl), which is used to access Nina's and Beatrice's sandbox content, since they won't be on a map location

This will in all likeliness be the final GoV content update going through early access.
Any possible future GoV content updates would probably be applied directly to the free version on itch.
Though at this time I don't have any plans for any noteworthy content updates;
Release 1.0 will mostly be the just public release of 0.9.9, with some polish, installation size optimizations and bugfixes (if necessary). 
I also changed my mind regarding public 0.9 and will not skip the public release of 0.9.2, so that will go live on itch .io sometime on Sunday, too.
Anyway, hope you'll like what I cooked for the latest GoV update!

GoV News roundup 09/22/2025


Just to bring everyone up-to-date:

Public GoV 0.8.0b is available on itch.io (in case anyone missed that),
GoV 0.9.2 is now available at the 1$ tier,
GoV 0.9.5 is now available at the 1.50$ tier,
GoV 0.9.6 is now available at the 3.50$ tier (and above, of course).

Check the earlier respective posts if you're a subscriber at the corresponding tier.

Due to being a bit burned out and needing a small break, I cut the development of 0.9.7 short and only added 1 new event, hence the rename to 0.9.6.
That event at least turned out pretty good, in my opinion.

Meanwhile, GoV 0.9.5 adds 4 events over 0.9.2, while 0.9.2 adds a lot of content over public 0.8.0b, sooo... in terms of early access content per $, it won't get much better.

All remaining planned GoV content will come in 0.9.9, planned for Oct 12 (Lv2+) and Oct 19 (Lv1), respectively.

0.9.9 will add
- 2 more sidegirls
- 1 threesome (with Diane+Isabella)
- 1 more Mia event
- sandbox content for the sidegirl added in 0.9.6

Page will be put in vacancy mode for existing subscribers for a month, to ensure you'll get 0.9.9 without additional billing.

Public release of 0.9.x will be skipped in favor of directly releasing full 1.0 publicly on itch.io at the end of October.
