Weekly WIP #23

•  I had an interesting idea for a small loop/prelude for Resident Evil. I've meant to use Heather Mason from Silent Hill in something, but Jill Valentine from Resident Evil works a little better at the moment. She's more popular/known/searched for and not one of the characters I'm tired of seeing constantly; thus, I'll use her for things. It's coming along super fast, which I love. It's also coming together super well, which I love even more.

•  The section of Hostile Takeover I have pretty much complete was meant to be the ending, not the entire thing, but I'm tempted to render and release it as is. There's really only a short intro bit with that other position Scarlet was shown in last Weekly WIP. The intro was basically going to be lip sync practice and not terribly important to the animation as a whole. I really need to stop starting at the end of these things.

•  A lot of this week has been General Practice; rendering and comparing different settings in SFM, lighting a scene better, camera angles, seeing what else Sony Vegas options can do, etc. I really need to practice a on specific aspects more. Maybe small loops designed just for that. An 'Expression Change Loop' or a 'Light Comparison Loop'. So on, so forth. The Resident Evil loop idea has been nice for animating different speeds of several characters in one scene.

•  Because of a discovery, I think the Resident Evil loop/prelude idea has some really good lighting. A friend, who previews and gives opinions on everything, and I think Horror themes (Resident Evil, Silent Hill, general 'scary' or moody settings) might be my niche. I'm not saying that's all I would do, just that I'm sure I have a theme/style I'm better with.
