So, there's a bit of a big update about the project and it's unfortunately not good news. As you are aware the project has not had the smoothest of sailings this year. In fact this year has been specifically rough for the project and me too. And it seems the rain continues to pour... 

I'll cut straight to the chase and say I'm very disappointed to announce, through measures beyond my control, there has been significant delays in the art department for the past short while. I won't go into details as that would be disrespectful and unprofessional to those involved, but it unfortunately has affected the ability to generate a new build in a timely manner.

With that said, the project is going to go on a hiatus for a while as we try to pick things up again and go from there. I know this is disappointing news, especially given everything else that has happened this year, but it is unfortunately beyond my control to prevent. 

To clarify a couple of things though:

Hopefully this will be the last hurdle in the project until it comes time to release it completed. I appreciate you all for sticking with the project through thick and thin, it really means a lot and I hope by the end of this journey we can all celebrate with what has been created!

As I mentioned before I wanted to update the  roadmap to better reflect our current funding and compromises we've had to make in order to deliver the project in a more timely manner.

What has changed?

In terms of since I last produced a roadmap at the start of the year, I've gone through everything I had planned and started to make the necessary cuts and compromises in the game. The biggest change is that the floating crew member idea has been cut, instead now those proposed NPCs (Naetu, Nix & Red Queen) will have their own side quests, with shorter scope for their progressions.

Naetu's progression will tie into the main storyline, while Nix and the Red Queen will be optional storylines the player, along with the likes of Joira, the Phoenix Queen Leader and many more we have already introduced. 

The other major change is the spacing between builds will turn to 3 months in the new year instead of 2. This to compromise on the fact that we have less artwork production each month, but so we don't impact the stories / progression being told (especially important for the main story line) 

I haven't put a release month for the final build, instead it will be released only when it is satisfactory rounded off every element of the game. Which is the reason the crew's final progressions are very much tied to the end and this build. 

Hopefully this helps explain what our intentions are for the future and when we plan to release stuff. Again as with the previous roadmap, everything on it is subject to change, so please keep that in mind! (Hopefully there won't be anymore disastrous things occur that will impact the project!)

It has been a while. I hope you are all doing ok! I've updated the rewards folder for this month!

I'm back now from my hiatus and work will continue on the project again, including a build this month. I also want to take this time and address something that has needed addressing for a while and that's, the future of the project, the roadmap and things to that nature.

The original roadmap was produced when the project still thrived on Patreon. Unfortunately not much time later the project was booted and we found a new happy home here, at Subscribestar. The good news that the project can continue has unfortunately been let down a bit by the fact we are (at the time of typing) only 62% funded from what we originally were.

To continue the bad news, it unfortunately means artwork production has had to slow down in response to that. I do not have the same agreement that I have on my other project and the projects ability to produce more artwork each month, is very much tied to the amount of revenue is generated each month from supporters. (I also don't want to give the impression that I'm complaining, I appreciate all the subscribers and supporters to the project!)

But this does put us in a predicament where plans for the project likely have to be altered and we prioritise things differently than we were before. Relatively soon I'll be making a new roadmap which will highlight these changes. While I love this project, it unfortunately has not had the best of luck (nor management), and sooner or later it will be time to wrap things up. And this new roadmap will be used to help guide us to that end. 

More than likely we'll cut some planned NPCs who were going to appear, perhaps cutting some that were meant to re-appear, and probably even cut the floating crew options right down. I hope to have this finished by the end of the month to give a better idea.

That said, we are returning to our builds as planned this month where we delve deeper into the main crew's backstories (starting with Lillith & Mia) as we begin their loyalty quests.

Not completely sure how to start this off, so I will come out and say it straight

I’m in desperate need of a break, I thought I could soldier on until August, but with everything that has happened this year in terms of projects and the fact I haven’t had any time off in… I can’t even remember when, I don’t think I can delay it any longer.

Due to this my focus has been all off and things are taking so much longer to complete. I’m feeling tired all the time and not committing any time to the things I actually enjoy, nor taking any time to focus on my physical health either.

Basically it just feels like everything has been “go, go, go!” for so long (especially since the boot from Patreon) that I haven’t had time to rest and recover from all the stress and anxiety that caused. Having to sort out the projects financially in terms of deciding how we handle the fact that the projects aren’t making as much as they once were, so priorities have to change.

My body and mind are now telling me, enough is enough and I think I have to listen to it.In the long run, pushing on and ignoring the signs is probably going to cause much more damage down the road, so I have to take the time now to rest and get back into good habits. 

I think the work I have been putting out lately hasn’t been up to my usual bar I like to set for the projects and it feels like it has been this way for a while. I haven’t been active in the discord server either despite being online all the time and I really want things to change.

My plan is for the next 2 weeks I’ll be taking time away to get a routine established, focusing on my physical health and getting back to eating properly and doing hobbies I enjoy doing. After that I’ll be doing a soft return to work.

This will effect the two projects differently:

The Solarion Project:

With the exception of the game builds, all other rewards will continue monthly as normal. Additionally funding will be used as normal to continue collecting the art we need for the project.

Obviously with the Patreon boot, and now this, the roadmap will have to be adjusted to better reflect how our timeline will look going forward, but I’d rather do that on my return rather than right now. 

I want to apologise to all the fans and supporters of the projects for this delay in our progression. I couldn’t have controlled what happened with patreon, but I should have handled my reaction to it a lot better than I have, however that is what this time off will hopefully remedy. 

Thank you for sticking with me (and the lovely artists) during the chaos that this year has brought. I look forward to bringing you better quality updates going forward.
