Release Schedule News!!

Very sorry to have to have this post come out as late as it has? There's really no excuse for it, outside the fact that my father passed away unexpectedly, but I could have posted it before hand and I've been working since then too, so I don't feel it's really a fair excuse to go this the majority of this month without making a post. This really shouldn't be the standard we set, especially when it comes to releases and such. So I can only say I'm *personally* sorry, as I'm the one who posts stuff on the SubStar, nobody else, really.

Looking At the Bright Future Ahead of Us...

So some of you guys may be wondering at this point, when the heck does the next partial installment of this great saga even come out? Well the short of the long of it is, the next update to come out for Dark Dimensions will be releasing...

Friday November 28th, 2025.

In just a months time from now, you'll see the next update to come out, however much or little as may be in it? It'll be out. So you know, the delays for this release have been over 1) Epadder doing additional optimization work that so many people have been clamoring for and 2) Taking time to get my synced up to the music library. This allows me to personally access the songs we have and make a collection of "Oh, this works for this sort of feel and scene, I'll suggest Epadder put this one in." This prevents us having to go back and forth finding the right mood and flow for stuff. The mood has to be right for a game as abundant as this one.

I also don't feel I'd be terribly out of line by also announcing that the subsequent updates will come out January 30th, and March 27th. With wiggle room for either delays in the schedule or personal issues, but we'll let everyone else know that stuff as it comes.

I actually have more to say and poll you guys on, in order to get things better lined up for us in terms of our workflow. But, I feel a nice little nugget sized bit of info like this would be easier to digest right now, and it's been delayed info for some time. Plus, I'm late for my shower before work.

Launch Build Release Date Clarification

You know I haven't actually seen too much confusion regarding this issue, but I just thought I'd still take some time to try and clear things up for anybody that may be wondering. The odd question here or there isn't too bad, but I just wanted to make sure everybody knows what's up, and how it should work going forward as well.

The set schedule date of a release? I'm gonna always try and set for around 4:00-6:00 PM Central Time, as that's just after I get up in what is "my" morning (Overnight worker, remember.) That's assuming the build we're putting out doesn't have any last minute or last 5-6 hour issues. I would try to do that same amount for the following releases as well, even though we could technically release it at midnight, 6:00 AM, Noon, what have you. For one, because then an accurate measure of time will have passed so that nobody gets its *too* early. And second, because the download link post will remain the same, I'll just lower the level of access to it at that time.

So again, the schedule for this *first* build's early access will be:

June 15th: $15 Wet Dreamer
June 20th: $10 Big Dreamer
June 25th: $5 Lucid Dreamer
June 27th: $3 Day Dreamer
June 29th: $1 Recurring Dreamer
June 30th: Public Access

That's more or less how it's always gonna unfold, in terms of how many days you get the content early or not depending on your tier. As I've said before, each dollar essentially earns you 1 day, we think thats fair and makes sense.

Anyway, that's it for now! Just giving people the heads up!

Suggestions for Alternative Platforms?

As the eventual release date arrives for our first launch update draws close, we at SDG want to also make sure that we have every available ability to get this amazing project out to those who want it. We understand that some people may not even know that our primary base is here at SubscribeStar. Most people I’m sure even slightly in the artist pledge/game dev support world know about Patreon much more than they do this place.

Unfortunately, the use of a platform, such as Patreon is currently impossible to us, given the need for creative, freedom, and artistic liberty that our game narratives require. So we choose to use this platform as our best option given those requirements. What we have been made aware in the past by comments of our supporters of potential issues this may cause. Whether it be too general awareness of the platform itself, due to unfamiliarity, or more logistical issues, such as certain payment options, not being a possibility for some users.

We are also in need of a platform that we can use is not only a launchpad for our games to be accessible from, what a place like this where we can also post updates, newsletters, sneak previews, etc. Something with a subscription based tier is also Paramount. So the task we ask of you guys right now, is to help suggest some platforms that you guys know of that have a focus on creative freedom, as well as a sub subscription based to your system. Where we can post more than just the game itself.

We welcome all ideas and suggestions! Any differing branch of platform use would not negate the use of this platform either. We simply want to make certain that any and all users are interested in our games have the ability to support us in the way that best fits them. The goal is to set up any additional pages on separate platforms in very similar ways as this one, with subscription based levels of support.

As a reminder, Dark Dimensions is an already existing IP. So it’s not like we can ever properly sell this game, as that is not our intent. At the current stage of this dev team’s lifespan, we don’t have any existing original content that we can package on a platform like Steam. It also would be rejected when considering the clear and present school setting in our games narrative.

So yeah, let us know if you guys think any particular place would be good or bad for us. We’ve heard rumblings of things like Kofi and Fansly, so no suggestion is bad!!
