QoL, Strategies, and Improved Exploration!

With an "extra" week this month to get things all ready for next week's release and the Dungeon of Dominance, I've had the opportunity to do a little extra work on some tweaks and features to improve the game and make some of the random aspects provide the player with a little more agency.

Strategies are unlocks that you can research to provide you with actions that fall under specific categories during battle and tweak your combat style to your liking.

Exploration nodes on the map will now give hints as to what's behind them after delving into the unknown. Revealing the final node of each tier will make it a space where you can get a free Core Mod, meaning a guaranteed three per run.

Lots of QoL tweaks not shown that include animation skips for battle, the ability to cut the wait times down significantly, an achievement style pop-up for when new unlocks are available, and particle effects to indicate when each side is in a pleasure break state. I'll show off more of those next week.

A Quick Look at the Improved Combat Coming NEXT WEEK

For those that have been around the discord, you might have seen that I have been wondering about the combat loop and whether or not it was intuitive enough to pick up, and whether or not each individual battle overstayed its welcome because of it. This has led me to whipping up a quick change to the Finisher/Escape system.

I'll go over it in more detail next week, but now when you or the enemy is attacked with a full Pleasure bar, they will go into "Pleasure Break" (and some enemies even lose their clothes!) Once broken, you will be able to use a finisher to try and quickly wrap things up by filling the Submission (might be renamed to Corruption) gauge. The win condition for battles has been shifted from an enemy running out of energy during a finisher, to simply filling an enemy's Submission gauge (and finishers are an excellent means to do so).

There's also some UI clean-up and most (if not all) of the placeholder image boxes are now replaced with art hand drawn by yours truly~
