This was a long time coming, I made the switch from Goo Engine to the Blender NPR Prototype, which provides many new features and quality improvements. The NPR Prototype is based on Blender 4.4.1 . However, it seems to get discontinued now so use it at your own risk.

The core shader is now based on the Principled BSDF with some additions and you can use the NPR node tree with any BSDF, if you like. Shadow colors are taken from the underlying surface, painterly normals system included, hair see-through effect works, shader on line art is supported, new compositor setup can modify the line art ,and more stuff.

Self-shadows can't get filtered out so face shading may look worse than before.

For the hair see-through effect, add a shader AOV with the name 'Refraction' to the eyes, eyelids and eyebrows. Enable Raytraced Refraction on the hair.

The system is not extensively tested at this point, the Mavuika and Furina bike scene is made with this.

Demo file and complicated character preparation guide is included. Asset updates are posted on Discord and you can discuss things there.

- Adjustable Pointiness.

- Auto-extending mesh without stretching.

- UV unwrapped.

- Seamless procedural noise texture included (other materials work nicely, too).

- Custom object attachable at the root, like the included magic circle. (Attach an 
  Attribute node with the name "UVMap" to your custom object material.)

- Make sure to increase spline resolution to the max in the curve properties.

- Added scaling in x- and y-axis along the curve. Use tilt to turn the control points.

- Added built-in subdivision surface modifier for smoothing.

- Material Tilt stays stable when lengthening the curve and adjustment is now a float value instead of integer for more fine control.

- Removed 'Reverse Tilt' option, you can just turn the material tilt below zero.

- Filled ends of the rope.

- Custom objects for endcaps now possible.

- New procedural texture, also includes FTSC v1.7 for Goo Engine.

- Renamed 'Width Resolution' to 'Sides' (you can make a square curve shape).

- There is a slight texture seam when using a cyclical curve.
