0.8 Dev Cycle

Thanks for reporting bugs -- if you come across any, please drop them in the Discord like you've been doing.

There may be one hotfix release in the next day or so if there are substantial bugs to fix those.

Then we'll be releasing the Public version (which is truncated before Act I, and in future Public releases will not include HD art).

And following that? We'll start work on 0.8.

Are there changes? What does that mean for you?

First, you may see some edits to tier descriptions as we align them with the 'new' perks. So don't be alarmed.

New Perks?

Well, kinda. Going forward we'll be giving all our Origin and up tiers access to every release. It used to be that Origin tier would need to wait until the final release to see the new content and Handler+ tiers would receive every release -- getting a kind of drip-feed of content.

Now Handler+ tiers will receive releases on the date of release (example, 0.8.0). Then, a week later, we'll be opening the release up for our Sudden Agents. Two weeks after original release? Dossier tiers will receive the release, and then, after three weeks, Origin will receive the release.

Probably, somewhere in the above sequence, a second release (0.8.1) will be dropped for Handler+ and it will follow the same process.

Why are we doing this?

A few reasons:

• to give flexibility to us in our release schedule and what content/features we implement.

• to ensure that our supporters are receiving benefits no matter how long it takes us to drop a full dev cycle.

• But mostly: to ensure that supporters feel no pressure to support at higher tiers than is financially responsible and sustainable. We sincerely appreciate your continued support of Blue Swallow development and we want to make it easier, kinder, gentler and more rewarding for you all.

What will remain the same?

We'll continue the polling to ask you what you'd like to see in the next cycle (0.9). The options that won't be on the table will be those focuses of the current dev cycle (0.8).

Speaking of the current dev cycle, what's on the docket?

Here's a list of everything that's on our to-do. Will we do all of it? I sincerely doubt it, some are holdover notes and desires that might get some things to get pushed to 0.9, but it shows you what's on our roadmap.

I'm super stoked for us to release 0.4F ASAP so that I can turn my focus towards 0.5 and the spy stuff. Who would have thought that in the first 6 months or so this game would flesh out the Prologue/Character Creator, get into spying and that's not to mention getting to Bangkok!

Currently, I'm working on the final College arc where Claire takes a job. It's actually 3 (four, but one is a lie) arcs within one. I'll let you all try and guess in the comments below what kind of jobs Claire can take in college.
