Now that is all done I'm working on v.0.15.7 and making the final renders to finish off the island content which should be ready in a week or two (aiming still for the end of the month, but may not be as v.0.15.6 took slightly longer than expected, so may be early September).

This update will feature Vanessa, Sophie and Tiffany, with two new scenes for Vanessa, one featuring Sophie, and three new scenes for Tiffany!

Hello everybody,

I apologise but I'm going to delay v.0.15.6 again until this Saturday.

The reason for this is that I am going to add in a second Ellie scene, entirely different from the one I've just extended. That scene is entirely done, with two variations as I mentioned, this is to add something entirely new in for Ellie that wasn't planned until this morning when I was double checking my completed render pile (which was a bit of a mess) and found an almost done Ellie scene. As it is an Ellie focused update and it fits better now than it would in a Steph or Vanessa update.

I completely forgot that the first Ellie scene I made for v.0.16, pictured above and partly in the BETA, hasn't yet been released. I forgot all about it as I was making it when the residential problems really started messing up my workflow before I moved to my new address and I just rediscovered it when looking through the already made render pile for v.0.16.

Well this scene has 80 renders already made for it, and it needs another 25 or so to finish it off and that will enable me to link this new update into the Ellie/Lydia Path. This means you can get the new Emma or Helena scenes and then choose whether to go out with Ellie alone (this was the planned route for v.0.15.6) or instead go to Lydia's and get the story Lydia scenes (if you're not on Lydia solo you wouldn't have seen these yet) and then instead of the game just finishing with already released content from v.0.15.5 and a bit of an "oh that's it?" feeling, you'll then also get this new solo Ellie scene, and then all the Ellie and Lydia's duo content will come in a later update.

This will mean v.0.15.6 will end up with two scenes for Ellie, two for Helena and one for Emma and meaning it will comfortably pass the 1000 render mark.

I don't want to bombard people with tiny little 100 render updates to kind of make it seem like the game is constantly getting updates when it isn't really, I want them to be substantial and worthwhile to download, and to get this scene ready to go I need 1 more day of rendering and 1 day of coding/post on the renders, so releasing v.0.15.6 now and then releasing (v.0.15.6.1?) on Saturday I think would confuse people as they'd likely think it was a bug fix, and then also annoy people looking for new content with such small addition. It might be ready on Friday or even tomorrow if these render quickly overnight, and if it is I'll drop it as soon as its done, but I'll say Saturday to make certain there absolutely won't be another delay.

Sorry about this, but I'm really trying to get as many of these scenes out as possible as I still have 100s more in the pile and I know its been a while since you all had a good sized update.

This won't affect my plans to still release v.0.15.7 later this month, so please vote in that poll and I'll announce the winner with v.0.15.6 and get cracking on those renders this weekend!

Hello everybody,

Unfortunately I apologise I am going to have to slightly delay the release of v.0.15.6 until Wednesday (9th August) because I'm in the process of adding another scene in. 

Ellie is a very popular character, and when I was finishing the update on Thursday I really thought the Adult Scene I've created for her for v.0.15.6 is too linear and would only reflect a certain group of players, and would be a bit of a character shift for some people. Helena has two wildly different scenes, Emma has a variety of choices throughout her scene, and then Ellie was just basically A -> B and it felt off that she was getting a scene that, whilst it is a good scene, offered less choice and less renders than what two side characters off of her path were getting. 

So what I've done is add a choice in mid-way during the scene to offer two different night scenes with Ellie after the date with her, but I need a couple of days to finish rendering these.

I was really hoping they'd all be done as I finished posing them all in the early hours of Friday morning and left the machine to render, but the queue is only at 21/74 and they're just not going to be done tonight or this weekend unless they suddenly speed up.

So far the progress of v.0.15.6 is: 

Helena (300-350 renders originally planned) - 339 Renders Completed.
Emma (175-200 renders originally planned) - 252 Renders Completed.
Ellie (250-350 renders originally planned) - 304 Renders Completed - 74 Renders to Go.

This will mean v.0.15.6 will end up being essentially a 1000 render update which is at the very top end of the count originally planned, so hopefully that makes up for the short delay.

I also want to release a second update this month as well as there are two other paths I have routes I feel I could fill in the gaps, finish off what I've already got and complete in 2-3 weeks.

I'm going to put a poll up that will run until Friday, and then from Friday onwards I'll work on whichever route wins and have that out before the month closes.

Don't worry if you vote for the route that comes second, each of these routes already have 100s of renders made and just need an extra scene or two and finishing off, so whoever comes second will be release in September.

Once that is released in September, 3000-4000 renders of v.0.16 will have been released and I'll finally be sort of back on track after the disastrous start to the year.

There will not be a BETA for August as there will be this update and v.0.15.7 which will be for you guys to decide. At the moment I've been pumping through renders so the UI update will be 15.9/15.10, I'm not sure yet I don't want to switch back to coding at this moment.

Hello everybody,

Here is this week's development log for Defending Lydia Collier.

As I unfortunately expected, I didn't get my icons made and now have a refund coming in 5-7 business days. It's really annoying as now I've got to find somebody new to make them, meaning I can't finish what I was doing for now.

So because of that v.0.15.6 is still coming but it will now be a Wickes focused update with new content instead of a UI update which will come later.

Defending Lydia Collier's v.0.15.6 update will contain:

Ellie's new solo evening, including a meal and an evening out in London and a night together away from Ellie's home (approximately 250-350 renders featuring a 100+ render adult scene, one scene still to be completed).

Helena's new solo content, this will include the scene from the BETA and the second scene that is currently locked, along with some more later content (300-350 renders, featuring two different 75+ render adult scenes, one very small new scene still to be made) should you choose to let her stay the night.

Emma's new solo content, including Emma's first overnight stay (175-200 renders, featuring a 100+ render adult scene, one small scene still to be completed), a large portion of this scene will be released later this weekend in the July BETA update.

And a couple of renders of Samantha, although no full scene for her is planned as part of the Sunday evening updates.

v.0.15.6 will be solely focused on the Wickes' as I have the vast majority of these renders ready to go.

That will mean that v.0.15.6 will end up being 750-1000 long in total, and it will released on Saturday 5th August.

The BETA for July will be updated as planned this weekend, likely Sunday, but just this weekend as soon as I've finished the last couple of bits.

Hello everybody,

This week I've been finished the new Social Media coding, however unfortunately I've encountered a problem that's made me change my plans slightly as the person I commissioned for the new icons hasn't delivered them, preventing me finishing it.

I use Fiverr for all the commissions in the game that I can't do myself, and it has gone very well in the past. Only once before have I had somebody stop responding to me and miss a deadline, and in that scenario I had to go through their Customer Support and eventually get the job cancelled and get a refund. So I'm guessing that is going to be the same outcome here once the "we're trying to contact this person about your order" window ends.

So I've stopped with that for now and I'm focusing on Emma's scene for the BETA, which will be out now next weekend for all $10+ Supporters.

I've also now realised I could do another update similar to v.0.15.5 for Ellie's solo night provided you did not send her with Lydia. I have the majority of the scenes for Ellie, Helena and Emma all created if you're with Ellie but off the Lydia route. This would be slightly bigger than the Lydia update, featuring several non-adult scenes with Ellie, and then adult scenes with Ellie, Emma and two with Helena.

I'll see how getting these icons created goes and let you all know next week with the BETA and I will either make v.0.15.6 the Ellie update with the scenes I've got on that route and then v.0.15.7 with the UI when I sort somebody new for the icons, or if they do deliver my icons I'll make v.0.15.6 the UI update as planned and then a v.0.15.7 shortly after with the Ellie stuff.
