Price changes coming for A Shot in the Dark

A Shot in the Dark - Chapter 3 will be releasing on Steam on December 14! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1853830/A_Shot_in_the_Dark/

The USD base price of the game will be $9.99 and the Walkthrough + Guide DLC will be $3.99. (Regional pricing will make these prices different in other countries/currencies.)

In order to keep things as easy and fair as possible for all our players while also complying with Steam pricing rules, we will be making some changes to how we sell the game on other platforms.

Patreon & SubscribeStar

Nothing will change with Patreon/SubscribeStar tiers at this time. $5 Patrons/Subscribers will still be entitled to new updates (patches) as they are released. $10 Patrons/Subscribers will continue to receive updates (patches) 3 days earlier and access the Walkthrough + Guide version.

This will change once we are approaching the end of development and Patrons/Subscribers are receiving a more complete version of the game.

Itch.io

Starting on December 14, we will sell ONLY the Walkthrough + Guide version of the game on Itch and the price will be $13.99 USD (this price will increase if the Steam price increases).

Itch makes selling a DLC complicated so this is the easiest and fairest way for us to handle it while ensuring players who already own the game can still access future updates.

If you already own the game on Itch, the price change should not impact you. If you have any issues accessing future updates, please reach out so we can help you.

Steam Keys

Keys will become available after the game is released on December 14. Players who own the game on Itch will be able to claim a key on Itch. It may take a few days for us to get that set up.

Active Patrons/Subscribers with a $15+ lifetime pledge can request a Steam key. You can contact us now if you want and we'll send the keys when they're ready.

Prince of Suburbia: V0.95 Updates + Summer Sale

Early Release schedule for V0.95 will be announced soon!

We're thrilled to announce that testing has begun for the highly anticipated V0.95 update of Prince of Suburbia! As we've stated many times, this is our most ambitious update yet! We hope you are prepared to have your mind blown as you blow your load! :D

Early Release of V0.95 for our Patreon and SubscribeStar supporters will start next week, after the July 4th holiday (for ourselves and our US team members). As soon as we have an official Early Release schedule, we will announce it!

Preparing for Steam and Itch release of V0.95

Once the Early Release phase is underway on Patreon and SubscribeStar, we will begin preparing for release on Steam and Itch.

The Early Release version we release on Patreon and SubscribeStar is English only, whereas the Public Release version that we prepare for Steam and Itch includes translations for all the additional languages we offer support for (Spanish, Italian, Polish, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese). Creating all those additional versions requires a few extra weeks of coding and testing.

As always, we will keep players updated as we have more details on the timeline for Public Release on Steam and Itch.

Starting with the V0.95 release, we are planning to offer Steam keys for Prince of Suburbia - Part 2 (paid DLC) as a special reward for our Patreon and SubscribeStar supporters.

We are currently working on the logistics to comply with Steam's guidelines and establish an efficient distribution process. Stay tuned for more details!
