Price changes coming for A Shot in the Dark
A Shot in the Dark - Chapter 3 will be releasing on Steam on December 14! https://store.steampowered.com/app/1853830/A_Shot_in_the_Dark/
The USD base price of the game will be $9.99 and the Walkthrough + Guide DLC will be $3.99. (Regional pricing will make these prices different in other countries/currencies.)
In order to keep things as easy and fair as possible for all our players while also complying with Steam pricing rules, we will be making some changes to how we sell the game on other platforms.
Patreon & SubscribeStar
Nothing will change with Patreon/SubscribeStar tiers at this time. $5 Patrons/Subscribers will still be entitled to new updates (patches) as they are released. $10 Patrons/Subscribers will continue to receive updates (patches) 3 days earlier and access the Walkthrough + Guide version.
This will change once we are approaching the end of development and Patrons/Subscribers are receiving a more complete version of the game.
Itch.io
Starting on December 14, we will sell ONLY the Walkthrough + Guide version of the game on Itch and the price will be $13.99 USD (this price will increase if the Steam price increases).
Itch makes selling a DLC complicated so this is the easiest and fairest way for us to handle it while ensuring players who already own the game can still access future updates.
If you already own the game on Itch, the price change should not impact you. If you have any issues accessing future updates, please reach out so we can help you.
Steam Keys
Keys will become available after the game is released on December 14. Players who own the game on Itch will be able to claim a key on Itch. It may take a few days for us to get that set up.
Active Patrons/Subscribers with a $15+ lifetime pledge can request a Steam key. You can contact us now if you want and we'll send the keys when they're ready.
