Next Video: Yang Xiao Long

As I mentioned in the release of the Rebecca video, rather than hold another poll whose outcome is heavily weighted, I'm going to jump right into working on Yang. The reason being, as put by Stephen Smith: "Pre-empt anyone who would complain if Yang doesn't win the poll, and anyone who'd complain over a poll with a foregone/rigged conclusion or whatever." After some consideration, I decided I agree.
I'm sure that ever since I put out that first Ruby Rose video, people have been excited to see the whole squad animated, and you all have waited long enough.
Hopefully this doesn't take quite as long as the Rebecca video. The main reason for that wait was, aside from general busyness, me experiencing some burnout.

I'd like to talk a bit about that burnout, but unfortunately, there's really no way of discussing it without getting political. I'm not exactly happy about using my platform as a soapbox to preach like this, but I sincerely feel like I have to vent and say something  (This is your cue to stop reading if you're just here for an update on Yang)

So here we go:

As most of you probably know, the US presidential election is coming up, between the Republican nominee Donald Trump and the Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. I'm a Minnesotan, so of course, I'm at least somewhat affected by the outcome. I'm not usually an overly political person, but a few months ago, I became aware of Project 2025. For those who are unaware, it's basically a big document published by the Heritage Foundation (a conservative policy institute who are buddies with Trump) and a bunch of members of Trump's administration, with a list of stuff that they and Trump will do if the Republicans win this election.

The most relevant point to you and me is that they wanna completely outlaw porn in America, and send porn creators and distributors to prison.

Is that something that's actually gonna happen if Trump wins? Would it even apply to me, thatcombatwombat? Who knows? At the very least, there's a real possibility of my work and hobby here suddenly becoming illegal for no good reason, and that's more than a little unsettling. I mean, if that happens, than I'd probably have to totally stop everything I do online or risk arrest. No more animations, no more games, no BreedTown 4. Not just me either, of course, this would go for any American hentai artists you know of. And even speaking less apocalyptic, we all know services like Patreon and PayPal have become increasingly hostile to adult content creators, and I only see that problem getting worse with a Trump win.

So as a result, over the last number of months since learning about it, I've been pretty stressed out! I don't wanna stop making this stuff, I enjoy it too much, and I'd like to keep on doing it for years and years! The fact that it seemed apparent that Biden was gonna lose didn't help at all. It really felt like the hammer of state censorship was inevitably coming my way. During this time, I had a constant heavy sense of impending doom, and it was really hard to motivate myself to work on the Rebecca video. A really dark part of my mind even felt like it would be best to just completely shut down and erase my entire online presence without warning.

But! Within the last few weeks, Joe Biden stepped down as the Democratic nominee, and Kamala Harris stepped up, with Tim Walz (my governor who I'm quite fond of) as her VP. The odds of a Democrat victory suddenly seem much better, and with that, it seems significantly less likely that porn is gonna get outlawed. Whew! My mental health has improved a lot as a result.

I don't wanna get too complacent though, which I suppose is why I'm typing this all out. Make no mistake: If Donald Trump and the Republicans win the upcoming election, there's a nonzero chance they'll implement Project 2025 and ban all porn in America. I was ready to vote for Biden just to try and stop that from happening, but I like Harris and Walz more, so I'm happier to vote for them.

If Trump DOES win, I'm not saying that I'll completely erase my online presence day 1 or anything. I don't know what exactly I'll do, other than wait and see what happens. And if they DO move ahead with banning porn...well, maybe I'll move to Canada?

Anyways, that's about it. I'm probably not going to talk about the election this in depth again. I eagerly want to go back to being a non overly political person who doesn't have to pay much attention to Current Events ™.

Right now I just wanna animate Yang getting knocked up. She's my favorite member of Team RWBY, so I'll try and do her justice! Please look forward! ^^
