Danny Phantom (Finalized Model)


🎶  He's gonna catch em' all cause he's... 🎵


Our main hero gets his main look! Danny Phantom is obviously the man we gotta care about and play as, so we thought we'd make him look pretty cool!

Love his arm crossed look, and Psymind also gave him a number of expressions to work with, some featured here.

Gonna give him a number of different features, including Fenton Thermos use, a proper "Going Ghost" animation, a floating ghost tail, and even some additional hand poses. The arms crossed gesture will probably be one of the most common styles of gestures in the game, so a lot of people will have that one.

What do you guys think? Looking pretty snazzy, right?

Danny Phantom WIP Character Portrait

Hey, whadda say, it's the guy we all wanted to be when we were 14!

The Ghost boy himself has finally arrived. Obviously, he was gonna be a big character needed for the bulk of the game, and with that, we wanted to give him some nice style. A good deal of his top is inspired by an actual sketch of an older Danny, made by DP artist Stephen Silver. Specifically the shoulder lines and arm band wrap arounds. Think it provides a more sleek "Future" look to the character. Shows both growth and a pretty natural evolution of the character without ever going overboard. Still looks like Danny in his ghost form, something we didn't wanna accidentally overstep or overdo, because we've definitely seen some of the alt designs made for future Danny... a bit much.

Danny's new outfit is sporting a nifty and yet subtly designed utility belt, the insides of which are currently a bit of a mystery... I like to think it's a bit of emergency reserves, like some Fenton Fishing line, Ecto-Dejector, maybe some emergency beacons to call the Fenton Ecto-Suit... oh wait, that got blown up when Jazz wore it, and Jack's been repairing it in the garage for a years now... eh, I'm sure he'll get to it eventaully. Additionally, Danny has a secret hidden comm in his gloves that allow him to communicate with the other members of Team Phantom.

How did he get the new outfit, btw? Like what did he do to switch up the style? Did he need to reset his powers again and wear a new jumpsuit? Make Desiree wish for it to be sleeker and cooler? I think the official answer for this is that there is no official answer, and your guess is as good as mine. Might even make it a running gag...

Something that Psymind pointed out to me while designing him, is that he wanted to know what shade to make Danny's face. I was confused! I assumed it would be the same skin tone as normal, no? But he pointed out, that in fact, most of the time Danny turns into Danny Phantom, he's actually got a shade browner. I tried looking into any number of reasons why this might be, but never got a definitive answer lore or design wise. Glowing ghostly body causing more shadows? Ideal body form through his strength and powers? Whatever the reason, we made the call to just shade his hair white and gray, and keep his face his normal human skin tone. Gives him that "Nickelodeon All-Stars". We'll also highlight his body and the other ghosts with additional blues and purples as need be for any CG image that may warrant it. "Whatever looks coolest."

Speaking of looking cool, FraMe is gonna try and make an animation for when Danny needs to transform between forms. So yeah, blue portal rings are coming!!

Am I crazy... but I only just noticed the "P" in the "D" after all this time... holy toledo. Maybe I shouldn't be the quality control guy for this game after all, that's pretty embarrassing of a detail to never before pick up on.

Valerie Gray WIP Character Portrait

So, uhh... anyway! We're still making a game!

Oh, I've been excited about this one, let me tell you. In fact, I probably don't even have to tell you! If you knew anything about me and my work on the previous game, you know I am a huge fan of Valerie Gray. Criminally underrated in the realm of Rule 34 and the general fandom of Danny Phantom media. We never got her reaction to Danny's big secret! So much potential! It's stuff like this that makes me really happy we get to explore and expand on Valerie's character arc more than the show ever got to. Or even the previous game! I think we wrote her one entire H-Scene. We'll definitely want to rectify that, along with other underapreciated babes, ghostly and otherwise.

So as you can, Valerie is rather well endowed, and S T U R D Y. I definitely wanted her to have the hips and the butt, as she was clearly drawn to be plump and a lil' chubby in the show. In our story, Valerie's body has obviously matured a good deal now that she's more grown up. I suggested the spaghetti strap material, cause I like the idea of showing off her shoulders more, and just think it's something she'd wear. Valerie is a proud woman, unashamed by her curves and figure! For that, we love her even more...

Number of little features and design changes we made I'd like to point out. Psymind said we should try to add some eyeshadow, of which I opted for olive green, which with her eyes was good combo. We tried for like lime green, for her nails? To me it looked like she had little green M&M's on her fingers, it stood out too much, so a soft yellow was used instead. Her nose is different in the show, and neither Psymind or I wanted to give her strong nostrils, so the additional little touch is, I think, a nice enough touch.

So much hair! I wonder what she'd look like without the bandana. I suppose we'll have her take it off at some point, right? That'll be interesting to see. Valerie in the show had a chain around her neck, but it looked more like a bronze choker, with a little bronze circle attached. To us, it kind of looked like a dog tag, and... yeah. Yeah, no. So now it's a little golden chain and locket, something that we'll use to explore more of character and show a little more depth to her story. I like the way Psy drew it lower, just above the heavy cleavage line. Very alluring!

The earrings, golden, I liked that choice. The bracelets, more classical to the show. At one point I wondered if we might make them scrunchies, but her sense of style I think is more suited for some kind of proper accessory. Okay, we've covered the top half, of her model, now we can talk about the remaining 90% of her portrait...

The Pencil skirt design we used as reference was I thought a good type to mimic in Valerie's look because it has these pre formed wrinkles that naturally accentuate a woman's curves. That skirt ref was also a more saturated orange, and so Psymind used it as a color variant for the skirt and the bandana, but we both agreed it would be too strong of a color, and I personally enjoy just the classic colors. But, we could very well use that sort've color palette for something like a dress in a dance/Senior Prom update! I think she'd look quite ravishing in a proper attire like that. You'll also notice that we chose to keep Valerie's top tucked into her skirt, as opposed to hanging over it, like before. I like this choice a lot, because now we get that real lovely belly paunch. Juuuuust the right amount of chub.

Valerie, I think we've conjectured, might have the fattest ass in the game, period. I mean, that's hard to truly say for certain, considering we're only 7 characters in, but I felt her gluteus maximus had to go BIG or go home with her design. So Valerie's hips, butt, thighs and legs are built Ford tough, and they're currently leading the pack in terms of pure W A G ON factor. But who knows, maybe she'll get beat out when we make Skulker or Box Ghost...

Uhh, what?

Wrapping things up, the classic yellow socks with some light pattern striping, and some really fitting velcro strap shoes. I loved how Psymind did Valerie, I think she's a real stand out model, and I know I'm clearly biased in that regard, but as a major Valerie fanatic, I give her my personal approval, and I hope you enjoyed seeing her new look as well.

Now, we actually had Valerie's Technus Suit form up next on the docket, but we're actually gonna switch gears and make something other than a character portrait next with Psymind's skill set. Could take some time to fully get done, but we'll learn a great deal of what we're gonna be able to do with H-Scene CG stylization... I'm looking forward to it, and so should you!
