Thanks for joining the Silver community! Your support means the world to us, and we're thrilled to have you on board.
We're humbled by your generosity and commitment to our project! Thank you for supporting us and our vision.
Hey there, long time no chat! It’s been a bit since our last update, but the wait time is coming to an end because the first part of our next big patch is dropping right now, and we have some announcements to make, but before we dive in, let me get something off my chest – it took longer than we’d hoped. We’re not saying excuses are valid, but we wanted to be upfront with why things moved slower.
It’s all due to the enormous overhaul happening with the interfaces and menus on both PC and Android. As you may remember, we promised that we would address those pesky bugs and now it seems like every time we fix something, a new one pops up. We’ve had our hands full, but we’re not complaining because at least this means the next update is going to be smoother than ever.
Speaking of which, this time around the android version got special treatment! Loafy has put extra care into designing interfaces in a way that makes it look as good on your mobile devices as it does on your PC. We’re not saying we’re Android experts (we wouldn’t want to jinx ourselves), but our internal testing has proved promising.
As for the content you’ve all been waiting for, Tonks’ fan-favorite features? They’ll be here soon! As soon as they’re polished up and ready, we’ll push them out. Don’t worry, it’s not going to take another year like before and let us explain why.
You may remember from Loafy’s devblog posts that he’s been learning how to draw art for the game. Well, our buddy from the shadows who’s been teaching him has also offered to join forces with us, so we have an opportunity to have not one, but two artists working together on the project, but to make that happen we need your help.
We have avoided the elephant in the room for a bit too long, and that’s the money. The cost of living is rising (and you know how much we hate talking about this), so we’re restructuring our tiers. We’re trying to make it easier for everyone to get involved without making it harder on those who can’t afford it.
So here’s what we’re changing:
And here’s where you come in again:
The extra funds will allow us to hire another artist who’s eager to work with Loafy and bring that unique style into our game. But we can’t do this without your support. Our friend is a big HP fan (not the printers lol), and has already been involved in some processes as a friend of the studio, but take a look at the artwork you see in today’s post and you’ll know why we consider hiring them full time. All of it is drawn by them, and in just a couple hours on a short notice, so you can get a pretty good idea of what’s being offered here.
If you’re a developer yourself, or just someone looking to see how the sausage is made (in a non-pornographic sense), our $10 tier will give you access to Subscribestar-only builds for all platforms (android included). But why Subscribestar? Well, it's not just about the money. It’s also about getting immediate feedback from the people who matter most – you! This way, we can keep improving and releasing better content faster, all the while giving you a taste of what’s to come without having to make you wait.
And hey, if you don’t want to use Subscribestar or you just wanna give it a shot on your own, we’re not locking down our public git. Anyone who wants to can compile the game and tinker with it for personal use. We love open source and community support.
Now, with all that out of the way, let's get back to the good stuff: the new content. As mentioned earlier, we're splitting the update into parts. You're getting the complete UI overhaul first, which is available for download to everyone right now on our website; and Tonks' content in the near future.
How near is near you may ask? Well, definitely not another year. Thankfully, all the hard work put into coding and interfaces marks a final push towards ensuring that we can produce content without the fear of it collapsing under its own weight. To reiterate: there will be no more extensive code deep-dives than what has already been done. From now on, every update will focus purely on art and content.
We are positive this is going to be one of our best releases yet, and with the help of a new talented artist in the mix, we will finally all be getting what we're truly here for: some good fucking content! But hey, don't take our word for it. See it for yourself!
And remember folks, we can do this together because your support is what keeps us going.
As always, the latest build of the game can be downloaded from our website at http://www.silverstudiogames.org. See you on the other side of part 2 of the update!
