Development news.
Hello everyone! It's finally time to share some new development details.
The artwork is almost finished. There are just a couple of events and variations left, after which everything will be ready for work on the animations. With the help of my friend, I was able to dedicate more time to working on the visuals, so the amount of art in the update will be substantial, on par with previous updates or even more.
The working build (the build without art and text, but with the logic structured) is also almost finished; only one character's events remain.
I haven't abandoned the idea of nice lighting for the maps (and generally, more attention will be paid to map visuals starting from this update), but this time we'll try to manage without the plugin that simulates light, using simple image layers instead. This method doesn't strain performance as much, but it also noticeably transforms the maps.
On the technical side, which might reduce the number of bugs - the method for triggering events has been changed, and events in general have become more systematized and more suitable for collaborative work.
Also, the map design was handled not by me this time, but by my friend. So you'll notice a slight shift from my usual map gigantism to neater and more user-friendly locations.
Just the other day, I received the final proofread Russian text from the proofreader, and the translation itself is expected next month.
Overall, the main remaining points are finishing the artwork, animations, and assembling the final build. So, the first estimated deadline will be the end of next month.
And finally - all the previews + one new one, and an updated art piece from the previous update.
Thank you for your attention and support. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
Development news.
Yo! Sorry, it’s been a while since I last wrote—editing and proofreading the text isn’t exactly the most thrilling part of development, but it’s finally done.
--- I've given the text along for a first round of feedback. Once I get that, I’ll make the necessary changes and send it to the translator.
--- The text itself has grown by about 2,000 words.
--- Work on the art has begun. The final costume design is finished; I just need to decide on the material for her outfit—1 or 2 ?
--- We decided to move away from our own combat system and will be checking out existing solutions like Alpha ABS and similar ones.
That’s all for now. As I continue working on the art, I’ll start spoiling you with more previews and sketches. Thank you for your attention and support!
It is time for news!
Hi everyone!
It’s time to recap all the devblog posts and share the news!
First of all, regarding 0.19: I’m happy to hear that most of you enjoyed the updated, especially the animations. The lighting also received a lot of positive feedback, however I’m still considering if it’s worth leaving it, as some people also experienced performance issues related to lighting. I firmly decided to leave it off on the mobile version – again, for the sake of performance. Most likely I’ll have to breathe life into the locations by simply layering up images on top of them – for example, the location of the brothel.
The work on 0.20 if gull under way: the plan is set and the base logic is built. Also, we’ve already created 3D concepts for the update. The overall way of development changed: this time, instead of getting right into writing the text, I decided to first work on sketches and getting the first build together. This will allow me to perceive the update as a whole sooner, and also speed up the work on the text since I will be able to see the big picture.
The 0.20 update will progress and finish the brothel route. The main theme of it will feature fights – parodying WWE to be precise – with various costumes and juicy holds and grips. Noemi’s outfit will feature two variants: outside of fight (left) and during the fight (right). They are not final yet, but you should have the general idea.
Noemi will be fighting women, so you can expect a hefty portion of lesbian-related content. Vivea will take part in it. By the way, the way she appears in the story will be completely reworked.
The fighting gameplay is a bit raw at the moment, so it is too soon for demonstration.
Putting a new start of the game into the 0.20 is a high priority. More precisely, removing LST points and leaving the focus on SPL LST. Also increasing SPLT LST acquisition before the camp. H-games won’t go anywhere, but the repeats will be removed since they gave no cutscenes. This will be one of the first changes that will affect the starting experience. There will be more in the future but there won’t be any major cuts or rework – mostly just Quality of Life changes.
Regarding the future plans. After 0.20, the second general’s arc will start. It will probably take 2 updates, and the third general’s arc would be next. After them, the final act of the game. As I mentioned before, I already have a plan of how the game should end, so we’re going for it! Once that’s done, I’ll be fixing the unfinished and rough places left in the game.
Now, regarding our teamwork. We couldn’t figure it out with MesaFer. However, we still continue work together on the plugins. My old pal has recently joined the project, and for now the work is going well and productive. Again, I’ll give it a month or once we’re done with the update development to see how it “works out” – then I will introduce him officially. I have already mentioned by brother – same with him: I’ll see the results of our work once the update is done and make a decision regarding our work together in the future.
That’s it for now, thank you so much for your attention and support! Take care of yourself and your dear ones!
NEWS!!!
Hey, guys! Why can’t I upload an update to Patreon?
Sorry for being silent – was super focused on work, but something quite unexpected for me has just happened.
Sooo… Welp, my Patreon page was blocked. Support is silent and gives me no info whatsoever.
I’ll keep trying to get at least some form of an answer from them. If I am left with no choice but to cut the “shady” or suspicious content – I’ll cut it. But that’s an optimistic way of looking at it. Judging by the experience of other developers on the platform – the support will probably just ignore me, keeping all the money.
This radically changes everything – after all, Patreon is my main platform.
The update will be released this month, that’s for certain, but I will have to delay it because if there is even the slightest chance my page can be restored, I’d like to release it on Patreon as well.
Most likely, the next update will be released regardless of the outcome of the Patreon situation. So, the plans to work with @MesaFer have not been canceled. This will be a medium update and we’ll do our best to release it in 3 months or so. I have enough funds for it… After that, I’ll have to consider the finances once the 0.20 is released. If I manage to recover losses from the blocked page – great, nothing changes and we keep working. Otherwise, there is a chance I’ll have to shelve Dilmur and return to it later at some point. I’m not sure what happens in this scenario. A new project, perhaps? Or join someone else’s project? In any case, for now, I have the plan written out until the end of this year. We’ll see what happens when we get there.
Telling you everything as it is and as it will be. Perhaps I’m not very good at setting strict deadlines and fulfilling them, but at least I can come up with something like a strategy and make it work (I hope at least). Something like that anyway. I’ll keep writing about any updates and news here. Thanks for your attention!
Oh, right – here’s one of the animation variations. Perhaps it can cheer you up if slightly! :)
