Character Chronicles - Floor 1
Hello everyone! I thought I would share a bit about how the characters have grown over the years, and their roles in the story, and how the surprises along the way have changed them. (Yes, even I can be surprised by how the characters grow!)
Lin:
Personality: Lin begins as submissive and (breedable) obedient. "The perfect elf" in terms of how Syl'anar sees elves. Innocent too, and not really being able to keep up with human advancements. As her story progresses, you start to see her develop a spine, especially in v0.19 and so on. She's not very submissive or obedient towards humanity as a whole. (She still loves the player of course, that won't change.) Now you begin to see Lin standing up for herself and elves as a whole. Something she wouldn't be able to do without the freedom and equality the player provides to her.
Her role: The idea here has been to turn someone who is fully subjugated into the system, from this innocent naïve maid, into a genuine threat. Not physically of course, but as an icon. She's pure of heart, and a sign for hope. In a world without much hope, this naturally brings people to her side. It's hard not to want to protect her or her ideals.
Kali:
Personality: Kali's story begins with her having unmet potential due to her laziness. She was raised with all of her needs met, and then some. She never had a cause or care for anything, other than food and games. But this changes as the story goes on. She begins to see how the world will treat her differently to those around her due to the nepotism afforded to her by her father. She doesn't feel like she deserves any of it, and rightfully so, because until she moves into the hotel, she hasn't worked for anything in her life. This begins to change a lot in the latest chapters as you see her take on more important roles that could change the course of the world.
Her role: Kali is untapped potential wrapped in nihilism. Something I think a lot of people can consciously or unconsciously relate to. This world is fucked, but she does have the ability to do something about it if she wanted to. Anything from planting a tree that will outlive her, to changing the course of history from being in the right place at the right time, or just being lucky. Kali shows that all it takes is action from the right people to make a good difference, if only she got off her lazy ass.
Ashley:
Personality: Ashley begins as someone who wants to be desperately accepted by the world. Being rejected by her own family and friends has left a deep psychological wound. In an attempt to rectify this, she decided to bury her personality behind a mask she believed would be more accepted. It wasn't until she met the player that she finally felt like she could be herself. And her true self... well it's not someone you want to be enemies with. She's very protective of the people she loves, and is more likely than anyone else in the cast to sacrifice her own life for others, or commit heinous war crimes in order to protect them. Growing up part elvish and extremely impoverished, she has always had a soft spot for elves and their struggles.
Her role: To put it simply, mama bear. Fuck with her or anyone she loves, and she will hunt you down. Behind the cutesy veneer is someone who will do anything to keep those around her happy, laws be damned. She has a deep sensitivity to mental health as well. Ashley has been through it all, she knows that mental wounds can often hurt more than physical ones, and is the driving force behind her personality.
Maria:
Personality: Maria is the socialite who seems to know it all, but behind her people pleasing ways is a person who has been abandoned and felt the need to show the world that she's worthy. Her self worth has been tied to her usefulness, and that has made her dangerously easy to exploit in the past. She's had horrible relationship after horrible relationship in the simple attempt of trying to be loved, just for once. It isn't until she realizes the love between her and the player is real that she begins to blossom into the kick-ass woman she was always meant to be.
Her role: Maria is a survivor in a world that doesn't reward vulnerability. She adapts, hustles, and does what she has to in order to survive, and hopefully some day, thrive. Her story isn't about becoming someone new, it's about realizing she's allowed to be soft, strong and sexy all at the same time, and without the compromise of selling herself or her ideals. In a world like Syl'anar, and especially for a half-elf, this realization is radical. She wasn't supposed to get this far in life, but she has, and this will undoubtedly make a lot of people angry.
Thank you all for joining me on this deep dive into the characters who call the first floor home! This is only a synopsis, as these characters are much more complex than what can fit into a single paragraph, but I would say these are my main motivations when writing for these characters.

Harem Hotel v0.19 Begins Development!
Hello everyone!
v0.19 has been in the planning stage for a few weeks, and now I'm happy to announce that it is officially beginning development!
In v0.19, you'll see some major character and story developments, and the hotel grouping up more to solve their issues. It's been planned for quite some time that each character's stories will converge, and in this update, you'll begin to see a lot more of that! These characters are family now, so their events will showcase this more and more in upcoming updates, especially for events that will change the course of where this messed up world is heading.
Along with that, more side character action will be coming to v0.19, including new characters in the hot springs, shower, and lewd options with them ;)
Explore content is planned to get a major update in v0.19, with a lot new events and even ambient sound effects. The BunBun Brothel especially getting some attention this time around. I also have plans to showcase some in-world holidays, such as "Crusader's Day", which is a mix of Christmas and Holloween where residents will dress up as crusaders, warriors, wizards and witches, and go door to door for a fun tithing.
I also have some loose plans for an expansion to the Traits system. These may or may not appear in v0.19 as I'm still thinking of exactly how each trait could gain more value. I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions on what I could add to make these more fun for you. Primarily I think new trait related Inspect options such as piercings, plugs, vibes etc. As well as a new Crowd Pleaser trait may be introduced for orgies, unlocked upon a certain amount of x-somes, which in turn will unlock more group content. These are all just rough ideas though, so please let me know what you think!
And if I have enough time, I also want to expand the lobby outfits include all of a character's current outfits and nude as well. Pinups could also use this expansion. And remake some old events, I have some good ideas for remakes already. Oh, and don't think I've forgotten about the dungeon! That content is quite old and I think needs an overhaul to also fit in better with the lust system. Once I figure this out, you can expect a lot of side characters to join down there as well! But since v0.19 is already planned to be full of content, I think the dungeon update will be in v0.20.
