Show What You've Learned (Atlyss), PlaytimeKnown

hi all ! i was pretty ill all of last week unfortunately, so i didn't do quite as much as i would have liked. we are recovering slowly though, & hopefully we'll be able to make some really fun stuff soon enough !

it was fun to work on atlyss fanart again -- i haven't seen anyone make any fanart of the Class Training Dummy, so i was excited to make it. i've a few more compositions in mind for it, so maybe i can make those sometime :>

ty for stopping by !

Lift, Wake Up The Permafrost (Complete), little landscape sketch

hi hi ! was a fun little week, albeit busy busy. gonna switch focus to mostly sketchier pieces for a little bit after this :>

also reconsidering the structure of these posts, gonna be keeping it to mostly the crucial information, less overall padding unless i start rambling.

Every step I took through these halls reminded me of just how organic & inorganic they were. The tiles on the floor were ever-so incorrect -- hollow in a sense of design. As though some of the bodies were specifically, though most unaware, hostile to those who interface with it. Stretching fields of visual noise, just to exist. Just to emulate that which is saw upon landing. Alienation solved through merely wearing the skin of the planet around it. I felt strangely sympathetic to the ruins. Each semanticless triviality only made me reflect on if she felt the same, & if this very structure could process how aimless its brick-laid life was.

ty for stopping by !

Week 004p (260112)

Afilagrèlh Beyond, Wake Up The Permafrost, thumbnail sketch

hi hi, here's the posts from this week ! i'm not quite done with the Maldretaldre piece yet, but these have been a lot of fun ! the afilagrèlh piece was ah, not really satisfying last week, so i'm glad i was able to clean it up & make it something to be decently proud of.

That old blasphemy of cooperation, taken beyond what the ancients had even considered alive. It was hardly like anyone cared anymore -- it was as though one atom of water rippled the "wrong way".

the pieces this week have made me process that i'm not quite satisfied with my current approach to painting. i think there's a lot of expression lost in certain parts of the workflow, & it still isn't as efficient as i'd like. that, & i don't believe the foundations i put in front of myself to be as reliable as i'd like. but i have been branching out into more experimental stuff slowly as i can, seeing what i can do differently. i think a lot of it is that i still don't understand underpainting as much as i should, nor the place that linework plays in that. as you can likely tell if you open the files, the sketches for each of these are fairly decently defined -- but more than what is necessary for something that will be painted over. i'm rambling now eehee, there's a lot of thinking to do.

anyhow, thanks for stopping by this week !
