hi hi! another week, another set of studies. was fun, we looked at some fighting game backgrounds & tried to process how they handled lightness. still want to work more on how colors can work, but had a good time anyways. we'll see about colors & materials studies next week, buttttt i'm getting tired of doing all these studies, so i might not! i might just draw & write & stuff instead!

hi hi! lotta stuff this week! we finished up some of the studies we were talking about, & intend to do some more next week hopefully, as well as try to plan out & prioritize the current projects we are looking at :> but we did a lot the last two weeks, & are very tired, so we also intend on taking it easier next week eeheehee

Week 32a (260N03)

stupid immortal journey, see u next time!, null exhibition

hi hi! hope your week went well & all! got a couple of pieces this week. between spending monday trying to fix website & just forgetting how to draw, & setting up a zettelkasten for the project, & designing the character in null exhibition, it was a rush to get everything done. we intend on doing more painting studies, & figure out what we wanna do with it, though we are still in the research phase of that right now.

Week 31a (260M20)

hi! hope your week went well. got a few pieces for you, even a fancy-shmancy fully painted piece!

P-Shelieph hardly understood it. Someone deciding to act as the skeleton of the large beast that the historic South Ciahmol was built upon. More structure than person. While he didn't understand what brought someone to wish to become the unsymbolic skeleton of a city, he respected it. In part, it reminded him of the architects that had inspired him so long ago. Consumed by something, something he hoped to one day find.

all three of these were a lot of fun to maaaake. i do wanna get better at painting again, though! it's funny, it's always a cycle of "i'm super sick at lineart!! oh no my painting sucks & has always sucked?? i've improved at painting!! wait no my lineart sucks & has sucked for a long time?? i'm great at lineart now(...)". dat's da journey though, i'd not be with it if it wasn't

it's wild to think that i had made that 10 months ago. the drawing style is familiar, for sure. like i kknow what brushes we had used, i know what i was generally thinking. but at the same time, i don't know that i could replicate the look all that well. it's interesting how focused we've become on linework. i didn't really realize how much it had changed for us.

either way, i do wanna get better at painting. we'll probably do some studies on it soon enough, just try to get our brushwork up to shape & try sketching without hard linework some more. it's really beautiful what paints can do, & sometimes we feel our pieces have lost a bit of character for not leaning into paints as much. would be nice to incorporate linework, paint, & raster artifacts into one thing, as we already bounce around some of those things in our pieces.

hope your week went well! i apologize for not posting on friday. there was a national strike in my country, & it would feel weird to post funny images on the internet instead of giving that space, even if i wouldn't have necessarily encroached on anything.

big painting!! it was super fun to make this! it always feels odd making them, cause they don't usually do as well as simple character drawings, but they are a great test to do at times.
