we have more experiments with hard pixel brushes, this time looking at keeping myself on my toes with hue-shift, & what all i can do with halftones. outside that, got some research we are doing now for a side project, & a previously shelved project is starting up again soon :> not gonna get into either of them tooooooo much yet though. secrets, secrets.

busy week ! it turns out that when you do not have a super big fancy painting to do, you can get more pieces done eehee. after What That Beast Must Be & our newer painting with the earthworm, we are gonna take a little break from big fancy painted pieces, cause they take a long time to make! as you can see, we've been practicing with little pixelated brushes & harder shading lately, which has been a lot of fun.
we also have a new writing up, which explores someone's recent thoughts on what the Ptal even are, & what it is like to live in a post-mortem world & body.

today i met an earthworm, 65percent, color theory write up?
hi all ! hope your week went well. we have some silly things for you this week!
firstly, the piece we've been teasing is done. was a great time ! i very much enjoy this character. we've also done some brush tests, & are experimenting with a sketchy, pixelated thing a bit. it feels a lot nicer than the last hard-edge brush we did, & we might do more in the future.
however, we also have a write-up on some color theory stuff we worked on this week, alongside an asset bundle for krita containing palettes & gradients that you can experiment with if you want ! the download is just below. i'll not get into it much here, but a larger explanation of it all can be found on the webbed site: https://www.rosiamn.link/log/e009-liftinguprocks/

hi hi ! we got a new piece, & a work in progress for a thumbnail i believe we made in the previous week. i did a surprise stream yesterday working on it, & it's almost done! we will be finishing it up next week.

what that beast must be, century folly
hiiii ! two new pieces, including the conclusion to the piece i've been teasing for some time. i'm excited to have it finally done & outta the way, it was a lot of fun to make. i wanna do more painting stuff like it, but there's a lot of other stuff i also wanna keep in mind !
I sat there, by the clock, each 100 cycles. I think to myself, a century passed, as though it was nothing. I just spent my time enjoying myself, learning new things, growing. I thought about how pressed I was in my first life, compared to now.
we've been doing more physical sketches lately, mostly in figure drawing. we are learning, & it's been a fun time. figure drawing is definitely one of those things in art that i feel particularly novice in, so it's pleasant to shape up the skill. it's also been a good playground for understanding how we want to tackle shape language. should we find anything from that, it might be reflected in how we draw the ptal going forward, which is kind of exciting to think about !
century folly was a piece that we secretly streamed the creation of as well ! it was over on picarto, & we are still thinkin on if it is something that we want to continue doing, or if it was a one-&-done experiment. we have been looking at making a newgrounds account (& sofurry when it comes back!!), as well as a matrix community sometime. if the latter especially interests you, do let me know !

hi hi ! got some stuff for ya ! had some fun this week, both of these were a lot of fun. we are doing more work with vector stuff right now, & that's been a fun little time. expect to see more of it !
Mine waking eyes saw a winding road, twin scarlet motes awaiting me afore a trapezoidal entrance of wood. I tried to investigate it, but fell asleep. I always do. You know what it means as much as I do.
we are looking a bunch into trying to find a nice home-place for us. bsky is kinda a stinker, & discord is too ! we wanna have foundations in a place that isn't gonna explode eehee. nothing further to say on it yet; we don't really know where we are gonna check out. the next couple weeks will likely be experimenting on that front. if you have any suggestions ever, we are all ears!
