Devlog #1 - Episode 1 [April 8-2024]
Howdy to our new followers! We hope you're doing well!
As we develop the next game project, we'd like to give you regular updates on how we're progressing. These come in the form of development logs, which we aim to publish weekly. We like to cover the game on three fronts: The technical production, the visual assets, and the game's script - each of which one member of the team primarily focuses on. This is the first devlog, so enjoy!
For the game's technical side:
The basic frameworks for the game's visual novel elements are implemented as normal through Ren’Py, though AB has been hard at work on implementing additional features. This includes the game's gallery functions, as well as various settings and the in-game walkthrough features.
For the game's visuals:
Nethuum has mostly finished the game's UI, including bespoke buttons, labels and text boxes to give a consistent and cohesive theme.
Most of the game's graphic design is complete, including the game's logo and elements specific to each platform we'll be publishing on.
We've established the art style of the game, including how the game's 3D rendered images will be enhanced to give the aesthetic we're going for.
The game's first scene renders are also now being worked on.
Finally, we're also working on animations, of which we're aiming to have anywhere between one and five or more give in the first build.
For the game's script:
TeraWatt has been drafting the plot summary for the early game and consulting with the other team members to ensure the tone and characters are just right. After a plot summary has been agreed upon for the first build, she'll write the script immediately after.
As you can see, we've been working hard on the major frameworks early on to make sure we get off to a good start. We can't wait to show you more of the project as we progress - and eventually, a completed first build for you to try!
