Hello, everyone! This is an end-of-month report for July 2024 for the current state of the mod's development. I'll try to make this a regular monthly occurrence from this point forward.

First of all, 0.12's beta testing period should soon be coming to an end. We've wrapped up the most glaring bugs and issues that we've seen so far, and are working on re-implementing some of our last few missing features from 0.11. It's likely that we won't be able to bring everything back to 0.12's official release yet, and several of those features (the old Overkill prison, jank levers, private cells, outfit selection) were half-baked anyway and are in need of overhauls to get them to a place where I'd be satisfied with them. My hope is to eventually incorporate all these things into the game more organically, such that they can be used throughout the story and regular gameplay.

However, so far we have made the bulk of Overkill's previous features available again, including customizable escape practice, the Wyvern's peak prison, and the handful of Overkill-original sidequests that previously existed. I've also been working on creating new forms of tape restraints (mittens!) in addition to making vanilla's tape restraints compatible with Overkill. These still need a significant amount of work before they're ready for all characters.

We're also still developing some methods to make Overkill more compatible with installing other mods alongside it and those might take some time. We'll share more details about this if we're successful.

I'd also like to apologize for the general lack of quests and narrative-driven content, which I know have been a popular request for some time. We are undergoing some internal changes in the team as we continue to expand our roster of talented contributors, and coordinating the half-dozen new artists and codemasters has been a journey that has taken a significant amount of my attention. However, I'm hopeful that most of these restructuring changes, along with the hectic post-Truth-update scramble and Patreon-to-SubscribeStar movement pains are now behind us, and I should be able to produce something of the sort before too long.

Our artists are all working on various projects, and we should have more to share with you soon! Bill lao's comic's first chapter approaches completion, and I'll be able to show off more of those near-completed pages soon.

I've also been busy with personal life: A summer internship, exams, and preparing to return to law school in the fall. Nevertheless, Overkill development will continue as normal thanks to the ever-growing team's efforts and your generous contributions.
