Usually, whenever a month starts, we post the milestones for that month. But today I wanted to make it a little different and give you an outline of what are our milestones for the Prologue in general, so you get a better grasp of what state this stage of the game is.
I don't want to spoil the whole story, so I'll just give a general title to some of it's parts so you have an idea of what's to come without taking too much information out of it. The icons here mean:
β We know what we want, but we didn't split it into steps yet; π Itβs already written, either as outlined topics or actual dialogues; π₯ We are animating or have made some good progress on; βοΈ Itβs done and fully implemented on the game.
So here's the general list of steps:
Main quests
How far are we to implement the main quests in the Prologue? These are the linear path you take that will get Kalyskah to the main game timeline.
Quest 1 - Amara and Kalyskah sparring: βοΈ Three stages of the fight βοΈ Talking to laver at the arena. π Tutorial popup messages to explain the game's mechanics.
Quest 2 - Check on the Legion: βοΈ Cutscene with Amara βοΈ Cutscene with Laver βοΈ Dialogue with Alvina ------- βοΈAlvina's Quest βοΈ Dialogue with Borden ------- π Borden's Quest βοΈ Dialogue with Brooke ------- βοΈ Brooke's Quest βοΈ Dialogue with Farley ------- βοΈ Farley's Quest βοΈ Dialogue with Michael the Wise βοΈ Massage Erotic Cutscene
Quest 3 - Black Rain Comes Down Kalyskah goes to Tupelo and performs a ritual to make it rain after sacrificing a human. βοΈDialogue is written. βοΈDialogue is recorded. πCutscene blocking out.
Quest 4 - The attack! Someone attacks the docks, and now Kalyskah needs to investigate what happens. This will lead to exciting conflicts in the Prologue and end up unlocking the influence system and the Prologue's most playable part. Kalyskah will need to earn points to unlock the Prologue's different endings. This quest will feature hints to a character that our patron DK has created through the Nighthunter tier. π Investigate the Docks π Deduce Culprit π Influence system takes effect
β Quest 5 - Influence System At this point, we'll add content scattered across the island and radiant events with different outcomes that will affect Kalyskah's influence. This can end at any moment since, as soon as the fourth quest is done, Kalyskah can already head straight to confront the culprit. But a better outcome will depend on a higher influence. Weβll add some events, but more will come after we release the Legacy content.
β Quest 6 - Pirate Raid! A certain level of influence will trigger a massive fight. Weβll skip this until we release the Legacy content.
Quest 7 - Confronting the Culprit After gathering enough influence, Kalyskah can make a critical decision that will impact three different outcomes of how the player approached what happened in Quest 4. This decision will heavily impact Kalyskah's Tendencies. π We outlined the consequences and started writing the scene, but it isn't done.
β Quest 8- Sending Galena to the County of Lanegan β Quest 9 - Trouble (I won't tell what it is!) β Quest 10 - Boss fight, wrapping up the Prologue β Quest 11 - Kalyskah wakes up in her Dungeon thousands of years later. The story from the Legacy Version begins.
Side quests
We also have side quests planned for the Prologue, but we'll only work on them after the current game meets the content of the legacy version, which means that we are working as fast as we can to get the old content back and we wonβt interrupt our momentum to work on side content. π Sidequest 1 - A comet falls on the island, and Kalyskah studies it with Michael the Wise; --------π Kalyskah meets Ilreth, an artificer that is helping Michael to study the comet. --------π Daily events between Michael and Ilreth β Sidequest 2 - An artist paints Kalyskah... things can get very.. erotic! β Sidequest 3 - Problems happening in Tupelo and Kalyskah needs to help. β Sidequest 4 - Offering sacrifices to Gremmnoch. β Sidequest 5 - To be decided.
Level Design

General art
We are working on more than just the story and level design. There are a lot of improvements about to come on the visuals of the game as well. Note that these will all happen in parallel with the game development. They are not roadblocks to the story, the mechanics or anything else. I'm posting them here, so you know what is about to be improved.

Final Considerations
We may finish making what was in the legacy version playable before we finish everything in the Prologue. And if that's the case, we'll introduce a way to start a new game skipping the Prologue until everything is done. Unfortunately, as you can see, there is just too much on our plate. So until we are done with the Prologue, and probably also with the whole chapter 1 of the story, we'll have to shelf the Prequel visual novel so we can entirely focus on the main game.
