Episode 8 - Progress Report #3

Hey everyone

This week I finally released Eruption Imminent - Season 1 on Steam! This was my first ever Steam release, so there were lots of unknowns and question marks as I got into this. But it all went well!

The release went smoothly, with no major bugs or technical issues to report. I already put up a small fix for one gallery scene, but so far that's the only thing that needed addressing.

All in all I'd say it was a great success 🥳. It was hard for me to predict any numbers here, but I am very pleased with the sales so far. I'm also very happy to report such a positive reception 😊.

So a big thank you to everyone who bought the game on Steam! And welcome to the new people who found their way here because of it 🙂.

I have one more small request for all the people who own the game on Steam: I'd love to see a review from you on Steam. Thanks! ❤️

In regards to Episode 8, I don't have a lot to report this week. I managed to write a few more scenes, and I'm currently writing the last in-game day. Now that things have calmed down after the Steam release, I should be able to focus a bit better and make some progress. I want to finish the first draft soon, and then take some time to review the whole episode before I move on to the visuals. My goal is to finish all writing in the next two weeks.

And since the question literally pops up multiple times a day now: The release date of Episode 8 is still up in the air. You can expect it sometime between December and February.

Eruption Imminent - Season 1 - Available on Steam NOW!

Hey everyone

The Steam release is finally here!

Eruption Imminent - Season 1 is available on Steam now! The Steam version contains the full first season (Episodes 1 - 7) and some nice, new features:

A full replay gallery that allows you to replay every lewd scene you encounter.
A character overview that lists all the characters you encounter and dynamically updates as you play through the story.
A fully overhauled UI with a more modern, polished look.
50 Steam Achievements for you to hunt down.
Many new little Quality of Life features and settings.
A new World States menu that allows you to check and manage your World States for the coming import for Season 2.

As announced before, the same version of the game (minus Achievements) will be available here on September 16th for Gold Tier members. An updated version without Gallery and Character Overview will be available for free the same day as well.

EI - Season 1 Update

Hey everyone

It's time for another little progress report 🙂.

First things first: Eruption Imminent - Season 1 got its final approval on Steam! 🥳
No adjustments to the game were necessary.

With that out of the way, all is on course for a smooth release on the 25th. There are no more open tasks for me there, except some more testing. I don't expect any bigger hiccups though.

Also, after some (a lot) of feedback, I decided to make the game version with the gallery and the character overview available outside of Steam as well. This version will come out on September 16th for Gold tier supporters on Patreon/SubscribeStar and on itch.io. At the same time there will be a free public release of the final Season 1 version which includes the updated UI and some smaller Quality of Life features. Achievements will stay a Steam-exclusive feature since that is directly tied to Steam's platform.

In summary, Eruption Imminent - Season 1 will come out in 3 different versions (note that regional prices may vary):

Steam Premium Version
- When: August 25th
- Where: Steam, for $13.99
- What: Episodes 1-7 + Updated UI + Gallery + Character Overview + Achievements
Premium Version
- When: September 16th
- Where: Patreon/SubscribeStar, for Gold tier ($15/month) supporters & on itch.io, for $13.99
- What: Episodes 1-7 + Updated UI + Gallery + Character Overview
Free Version
- When: September 16th
- Where: Patreon/SubscribeStar, for free
- What: Episodes 1-7 + Updated UI

(And just to clarify: There is no new story content in these versions)

I made a lot of changes in the backend for these newer versions, so be aware that old save files will NOT be compatible with the newer versions of the game. I know that this is pretty annoying, but with so many unlockable things, the alternative would have been too messy. Sorry. HOWEVER... exported world states from the end of Season 1 from any version will be compatible with Season 2. So as long as you clicked the button to export at the end of Ep. 7, you'll be fine there. I will also make sure that the 3 new versions are compatible with each other, should you want to upgrade from Free to Premium at some point.

I've had a bunch of people asking about translations. I will take a look at those some time after the Steam release. Getting good translations is expensive, so a lot in that regard depends on how well the game will do on Steam.

Steam Version - Progress Report

Hey everyone

It's been quiet here recently 🙂. But I've been working hard on the Steam version of the game, and giving it a few nice upgrades.

The most important part first: Eruption Imminent - Season 1 comes out on August 25th on Steam, and will be available for Windows, Linux and MacOS. Wishlist here: Eruption Imminent - Season 1

Current Status

I'm currently in the last stages of implementing these upgrades, before the version is uploaded to Steam for final review. My goal is to do this before the end of the week, so that I can start properly working on Season 2 by next week. There might be more things coming up during the review, but I'm optimistic that I can fully focus on the next episode soon enough.

For Episode 8 (yes, it'll be called Episode 8, despite being the first episode of the second season) I have done quite a bit of storyboarding so far, so I should be able to start writing without much other work to be done beforehand. I know that y'all are impatiently waiting and asking for release dates already. It'll take a while, presumably until the end of the year or early next year. I'll start posting weekly progress reports again as soon as I've done a good chunk of the writing.

But now let me tell you what I've actually been working on since the release of Episode 7. The Steam version of the game will feature a couple upgrades that I quite like.

New UI

The new version of the game features a completely overhauled user interface. New menus, buttons, settings, icons, etc. A few of you probably already caught a glimpse of that in the Steam Demo. I'm happy with how it all turned out and I learned SO MUCH about RenPy's screens and displayables system while upgrading here.

Character Overview

As you play through the story, you now unlock Character Profiles from people you've met. The 63 character profiles update with new information as you play, to properly reflect the relationships with the protagonist, and the things you learn about them.

Gallery

The game now features a full gallery with all sexy scenes from the first season. Once unlocked, you can replay them from the main menu.

This one has been quite a tricky thing to implement, mostly for how choices work in this game. A lot of scenes contain a bunch of different variants that depend on your route, relationships and other choices. I think I managed to figure out a nice middle ground between giving you everything too easily, and locking everything behind a maze of complicated conditions. So smaller variants (like some changes in dialogue) are unlocked automatically when you unlock the main scene. More substantial variations you'll need to unlock individually (e.g. choices that are unlocked only for a certain route). I also added an overview for each scene where you can see all available variations and some icons to give vague hints on how to unlock them.

There are 97 unlockable scenes with a total of 191 scene variants.

World States

I added a menu for your Season 1 World States. A World State is added when you finish a playthrough of Season 1. This World State is needed if you want to import your choices in the upcoming 2nd season. The functionality for that was already added in the standard Episode 7 release. I now added a menu where you have an overview of all your World States and you can delete the ones you don't need any longer.

Achievements

There are 50 Steam Achievements that you can unlock as you play. I had a lot of fun finding fun things to add here. I'm curious how many of you manage to unlock them all.

Final Season 1 Non-Steam Version

There will be a final Season 1 release for supporters here as well, which will contain SOME of the new Steam features. This will mainly be the new UI and the World States menu. The other things (Gallery, Character Profiles, Achievements) will be Steam-exclusive. This version will come out sometime between the Steam release and the release of Episode 8.

Steam Release Date & Demo

Hey! I'm happy to announce that Eruption Imminent - Season 1 will come to Steam on:

August 25th 2026

The Steam version will include the full 7 episodes plus a few extras:

Full gallery to replay sexy scenes
Character overview page to keep track of all the girls you meet
Completely reworked GUI with new menus, icons, etc.

Episode 7 - Progress Report #17

This week I was super busy with the Steam page release, so not a lot of progress with renders. It also kept me occupied quite a bit in the last couple weeks, so hopefully development for Ep. 7 can now speed up again. My goal now is to complete Episode 7 as soon as possible. After the release of Ep. 7, I'll take some time to finish the Steam build, before I'll eventually move on to Ep. 8.

I got a bunch of question in regards to the Steam release, so let me answer some of them here:

The Steam page is not available for me. Can you do something about that?
- Adult games cannot be published on Steam in certain countries (e.g. Germany). Other countries like the UK need you to register a credit card as a form of age verification. I can't do anything about that directly, so... sorry 🙁.
Will Eruption Imminent come to GOG.com?
- I don't have any plans for that currently, but I'll look into it.
What happens to the itch.io version?
- People who have already bought the itch.io version will get access to the full game there. In the future I might sell seasons separately though.
What about early access, public releases and the bonus stuff in the Steam version?
- I aim to make the Steam version of Season 1 a full package with some extras like a gallery in there. It's not an early access title. There won't be any story updates to the Steam version, and instead Episode 8 and forward will be part of Season 2, which will be released as its own thing again.
- The coming release of Episode 7 on Patreon/SubscribeStar will go as usual. Early access for higher tiers first, then for lower tiers, and eventually a public release. On Patreon/SubscribeStar, releases will be episode by episode (same as before), while Steam releases will be full seasons only.
- There won't be a public/free release for the Steam version of the game.
Which translations are you implementing? Are you looking for translators?
- I'm looking at the following languages: Simplified Chinese, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Korean
- I might not make translations for all of them, but those are on my radar.
- I'll make a proper "casting call" for translators at some point with more information, but if you're already interested, please contact me on Discord via DM.
- I know that mods for translations already exist, so I'll take a look at those as well.
- I'll also need people to test translations when they come out, so that I can be sure to release properly polished localizations. If you have feedback for translation mods that are already out there, please share it on Discord.
- Some translations for the Steam version will likely come out after the main release.
What about a proper release date and pricing?
- For now the Steam release is set for Q3 2026 (meaning July-September).
- You'll get an exact release date and prices sometime in the next couple months.
