Episode 4 - Progress Report #17
Hey everyone
It's time for the final progress report for Episode 4! ๐ฅณ
I've finished all 1760 renders for the episode. So, once again, the episode will be the biggest one yet (Ep. 3 had 1530 new renders)... I do plan on ending that trend with this episode and go back to slightly smaller updates. But let that be a problem for future-me in a couple weeks ๐

I'm currently still working on music. Unfortunately I have to replace most of the songs in the game with this update, due to some ToS changes ๐ข. I was very worried about this, since I feared that I couldn't keep the same "vibe" going with so many changes, but I'm actually decently happy with the new selection so far. I know I'll miss some of the songs, but I think with others it's actually quite an upgrade. I'm curious what you'll think about it ๐.
So far I'm done with replacing the tracks from Episode 1 - 3, and I added about 60 new songs for this. Now all that's left is music and SFX for Episode 4. And after that it's just testing, testing and more testing. So, all on course for a release on Thursday! ๐ฅณ
Since this is the first time we'll have an early access, there'll be some additional rules up in regards to spoilers and whatnot (mainly for Discord), but I'll post those next week together with the release. There will be one last preview pic on Monday; the bonus renders and pin-ups I'll do after the 9th. I probably won't post a progress report for a little while since I'll be busy with the release fallout and the planning of Ep. 5 (and there's usually not much to report in those very early stages).

I've also spent some time fixing the save file naming feature, went hunting for typos and generally changed a bunch of dialog lines.
I'm confident that I can start working on sound sometime next week. I'll get you a release date as soon as I can estimate how much time I'll need for that last portion of development. So maybe I'll announce it in next week's progress report? We'll see, but it's not too much longer in any case ๐.

Episode 4 - Progress Report #15
Hello everyone
I've made good progress this week ๐ฅณ! I'm currently working on the renders for the last big scene.
I've also worked on story recaps and added them to the start of Episode 2, 3 and 4. They should help bring you up to speed if you haven't played in a while. They can also be skipped if you so choose.

Episode 4 - Progress Report #13

This week I've created both the last remaining character and location for this episode. The location especially took a bit longer than anticipated, but I'm happy how it turned out eventually. I'll give you a sneak peek of the location and the new lady in the next preview pic ๐.

I'm currently working on a particularly hot scene... ๐คค Loved writing it and love doing the renders for it. As usual the last day is gonna be especially "interesting" ๐. I hope to finish this scene over the weekend. After that it's only two more big scenes left (they really are big though, still quite a bit of work).
The rough plan for me now is to finish all renders until the end of April and then spend 1-2 weeks on what's left to do (mostly music/sfx). So hopefully we can start early access around 2nd/3rd week of May. No promises yet though.
I also wanted to say a BIG THANKS for all your support! We're almost at 300 supporters on Patreon+SubscribeStar which is honestly just crazy to me. I'm currently even looking to go part-time on my "real" job because of this, so I can spend some more time on Eruption Imminent. Thank you so much! ๐

Episode 4 - Progress Report #12
Hey everyone
I've returned from my little vacation (it was great!) and am back on working on EI. I did get quite a few things done this week, so yay ๐!
First off I managed to finish renders for Day 12, but... of course my render count estimates were off again ๐ฉ. Missed it by a whopping 75 renders. Anyways... it's done now ๐
. So I'm gonna start working on the last day now! Hopefully I'm gonna hit the mark at least somewhat with this one. We'll see.
Other than renders I also worked on some coding stuff. For one I now implemented the feature to rename the protagonist if you so choose. I'm gonna keep referring to her as Ashe, but if you want a different name for your playthrough you now have the option. I even added a little thing where Cleo's wrong name for the MC ("Alice") changes depending on your chosen name.
I also finished work on the hints system that adds some icons to certain choices. This is not intended as a walkthrough or anything of the sort. It's just there to highlight a few choices and make it extra clear what they entail. If you start a new game they will be explained a bit further before the first choice comes up (during the Officer Shaw scene). Alternatively there's a little help button in the settings where you'll be able to check what the different icons mean. There it's also possible to disable these hints entirely.
