Continuing my fantasy series.
Dear Daughter
It was on that fateful day that I was to finally achieve power beyond reckoning & immortality granted solely by my own hand.
Years of machinations, preparations, & conflagrations had led up to that moment.
The circle was set, the prerequisites met, & the materials gathered, meant that all that was needed was for me to speak the words to complete the lichdom ritual but four heroes took stage & cut through my minions with fervor & zeal.
And with great difficulty matched blades with my generals, all twisted mirrors of them meant to match them to a standstill.
Yet one was felled & one of the four, your mother, broke through.
She knew not of magic other than that it was told that two rituals cannot be performed at the same time & in an act of brutish inspiration, pinned & claimed me as husband right there on the spot.
The ritual was broken & my defeat was long, mortifying, & exhausting.
It was then that you were conceived & my days as a dark lord were ended.
And that was how I met your mother.
Love, Janas Tithe
