Hi, I'm Iris Jay (she/xer)! I'm a professional cartoonist with over 20 years of experience drawing comics and putting them online, under my own name as well as my furry "nom de yiff" Distressed Egg. You might know me from my webcomic series CROSSED WIRES and THE SCANDALOUS SYBIL THROAT, my editing work on Fortuna Media's BOOK OF SHADOWS artbook series, or the serialized graphic novel WEDLOCKED that I co-create with my partner Nero Villagallos O'Reilly for the adult comics paysite Slipshine.

My work uses genre fiction as a framework for stories about the postmodern queer experience-- navigating the itchy intersections between identity, community, and the dystopia in which we're all trying to survive. The stories I write contain mature themes, and generally aren't for younger readers. Also, a lot of the stories I write contain erotic themes, and definitely aren't for readers under 18. Put the kids to bed, we're here to party!
