Salacious Sakura V0.05 Public Release!

Changelog:
  • Scenes for Kai, Aaron, and Keiko (The new priestess lady)
  • Several new quests
  • New fancy-schmancy fast travel map
  • Testing a quest indicator on the fast travel menu for Keiko's quest. Will probably transfer this over to every quest, if I can keep it performance friendly
  • All local maps (The M key ones) now have map names
  • Mio hug in touch menu
  • Reina headpat in touch menu (Yua is the catcher here)
  • Finally implemented a full gallery unlock code =)
  • Bug/Typo fixes

A note with a... rather problematic bug that I only noticed last minute. The plugin I'm using for the "equip battle skills" function... isn't functioning. You have all magic available, regardless on whether you have it equipped or not. I'm exploring possible fixes for this (It's complicated) but they're far too time consuming for me to have even attempted to include in the update. So... for now, if you equip the lightning pact, it's possible to use 5 magic abilities.

HOTFIX!
This fixes one strangling quest in the journal, and makes Kai's scene triggerable in her menu. (Download the attachment)

Salacious Sakura V0.03 and a PSA!

I am aware this is a public post. I apologize to my subscribers, however due to recent events, I had to get 0.03 specifically out to everyone as 0.02 could not stay up. Please see the bottom paragraph for details, if you're interested.

This one is near entirely "content", as in there is no side quests. Only character and main quests. A lot of work flow and back end work was done which left little time for what, in my eyes, is tertiary content.

Changelog:
  •  Scenes for Kai, Akari, Brigid, and Kafy
  •  Touch menu addition for Kai and new character Leche
  •  Bug / typo fixes
  •  Not in-game stuff, but I've gotten a handle of several processes which should make                 things smoother in the future.

I am aware a some-20 minute update is strange coming from me. And it's unacceptable, regardless of outside work that I did and other factors that happened this month. So, with that, in one week's time I will be releasing a bonus patch with additional content. In it will be;

  • Fully working gallery
  • Additions to several repeatable scenes
  • Reworks of several old animations/renders bringing them up to new standards

If you want a "fuller" experience, I suggest waiting for that patch.

Censorship

The keen eyed will notice that I have removed Reina and Mio content from the game. This is not something I have done lightly. Those on in my discord server probably noticed my min-crash out. This was the hardest choice I've ever had to make in my dev career. This is because of the massive censorship wave that hit Steam and Itch, banning "family" themes. Now, Substar currently fights for artist's rights and understands that this is fictional content, and I love that about them. What I don't love is how slow their support can be, being the small company they are. Until something concrete puts a stop to Visa and Mastercard's puritanical, and outright idiotic, censorship of fictional content, I have decided a pro-active approach is best. I'd rather (possibly temporarily) remove the content now, avoiding the ban-hammer and the long wait time for a review to get the game back in your hands. I have retained all the files needed to insert the content back in as quickly as possible, should the best outcome come to pass. So, what can we do? The current meta is to call, call, call. It's clear that they're both becoming increasingly annoyed, but that's what we need to do. They started this fight, it's up to us to finish it. Be polite, but assertive. Let them know we won't take this lying down as was done all the other times they've done this.

Salacious Sakura V0.02 Public Release!

A bit earlier in the day then I usually do, but I won't be around at that time, and I have no idea how good substars custom publishing times work (I'll need to test those on a pinup or something). This update is a bit shorter than what I would consider a "normal" update is going to be for Sakura, due to the ten-day vacation I took after the games first release. Still an hour long, but I digress. What's new?

Changelog:
  • 5 new quests!
  • Scenes for Lyra, Mio, Reina, Isa, and extended Serena's repeatable!
  • New Touch menu for Mio and Reina. Small interactions like hugs and headpats!
  • Got rid of variable reading variable weirdness. This might cause control map issues. If it        does, please let me know specifically where it does so!
  • Kafy moves in to Sakura City! (Do the monster hunt sidequest!)
  • Testing new O face mechanic in Lyra's scene. Let me know if you like the old one better!
  • Turned down menu SFX to be less... loud!
  • Bug and typo fixes!
  • Misc stuff you don't care about!

Known bugs:
  • Cooking tutorial incorrectly named (You can technically fix this one yourself)
  • Incorrect number of max quests shown (Should be 13) *Fixed in patch-only version

Upcoming in V0.03
  • Scenes for Brigid, Kai, Akari, Kafy, and two new characters!
  • First draft of the date system!
  • Fixes for whatever I broke this update.!

Salacious Sakura Progress Report #4

Been chugging along nicely. Mostly adding content now.

   - New notification system added and previous stuff moved over to it.
   - Switched from a dialogue pool system to unique, mostly funny, dialogue for random NPCs
   - Several dungeons and caves have been fully completed and parallaxed (fancy lighting and such)
   - A date system is being tested. Yua will be able to take Serena or Kai around town for... activities. Wink Wink.
   - Axed the triple triad card game due to issues with save compatibility. I'd rather NOT have people have to restart every time I add new cards. Sorry if I got people's hopes up on that one.
   - An outdoor map hotkey (and key item) added. This'll make caves, dungeons, etc easier to find.
   - Character bios menu added. You'll find a short description, gender, and various kink information there. (This will also show up before the choice to enable content with most characters)
   - Expanded functionality of the Wind Hand ability. You'll see. =)
   - The grotto system from the demo has changed. Now it's an actual map you can walk around in and talk to Serena and Kai. And eventually do other stuff.
   - Added in icons both above NPC heads, and outside buildings to make finding quests easier. (Side quests are found in an Headpats-esque quest board. Character quests are found by exploration. The icons make them easy to find though.)
   - Of course more scenes have been added.
   -  And MANY smaller details that aren't important enough to really note on their own.

We're getting VERY close to a V1 release. It's planned for the 1st of June, and I'll try my absolute best to make it happen. I'm working on the game every day but, as this game has a lot more going on under the hood, please don't be too mad at me if I don't make the planned release. <3 Thank you guys for your patience!
