Until they tried aerosolizing their integration fluid. As it turned out, the body started to naturally produce the aerosolized version and it was dramatically less destructive on the subject's brain. It just had one problem.
The stuff looked like fucking bimbo gas and worked close enough to it that flew in the face of Epcott's preexisting marketing strategy.
The CEO, Dr. Crisanna Epcott, begrudgingly pivoted her business model to cope, and has since become a much more dangerous competitor to Adder Industries. She's just... still kinda grumpy about looking like the CEO of the party girl drone company.
