Downgrades Pt.1

I squinted my eyes shut as the lights in the room turned on. This may be the only opportunity to take note of my surroundings I will get before the transport gets here. The cell I was in was about five feet by five feet with nothing but a cot on the floor and a metal toilet in the corner. I’ve heard about these, temporary cells, they use them for convicts that were purchased on the market before they were moved to a prison. How did I get caught? Someone must have ratted me out.

“Put your chest on the back wall and your hands behind your back”

Fuck I didn’t even notice the guard walk up. I knew I had no chance of getting past this guy, they sure do hire muscle, and even if I did there was no way I would be able to make it out of here without getting caught, again. I went ahead and did as he said, he then proceeded to walk up and put containment gloves on me, metal devices that completely cover both hands down to the mid forearm, then they use electromagnetic technology so guards can bind and unbind my hands together at will. These things also pack a mean punch if a guard activates the electroshock feature on them, way more secure than the handcuffs that cops used to use back in the 2200’s.

He led me out into a hallway where I was walked in a line with 8 or so other convicts. The guards led us all out onto an air pad and into a transport craft, man this would be so much cooler if it was under different circumstances. I could never afford an air vehicle, always had to rig my own ground vehicle like all the other poor people since corporations stopped supporting ground transport over 200 years ago.

Took us about 10 minutes to get to Concorp, fuck this sure is capitalism at its finest. Back in 2289 the government realized they were spending way too much money on prisons, and that was when artificial human enhancements became all the rage. That’s when Concorp came in, now anytime someone is found guilty of a felony they go up for sale on Concorp. Now the mega wealthy could purchase people and apply any enhancements they wanted to make them obedient servants, cooks, maids, anything they want completely modifiable in every way and can even be controlled via neural link if they want. It’s fucked up, but it decongests the judicial system and works as an excellent deterrent to crime. We landed and they unloaded us from the transport.

Once inside I was placed down on a magna gurney, then the guard came up and pressed a button on the gurney control panel that rendered my entire body paralyzed, I tried to protest but fount it somehow also impeded my ability to speak. Now I definitely can’t escape.

“Your services will no longer be required” The approaching enhancement engineer said to the guard as he waved him away. The engineer pressed some buttons on her control pad and suddenly my gurney was floating down the hallway. Once in the operations room I could hear the 2 engineers talking to one another as they gathered the necessary equipment.

“Man did you look at the purchase order for this guy? Whoever bought him is a twisted fucker”

Now I was scared, I assumed I would end up cleaning and serving some rich family for the rest of my life, but there are some people who buy convicts and modify them for twisted sexual shit. The 2 engineers approached with floating tables full of equipment.

“Alright let’s go through the modifications list one last time before we knock this inmate out and get to work”

“You’re going to read them aloud before you administer the anesthesia?” The other engineer said.

“I know it’s against procedure, but I really want to see the look on this guy's face before he gets transported to his new owner.” The other engineer smiled and nodded in agreement, prompting the first to begin listing.

“Alright first we are performing a permanent vertical reduction and leg control mod combo procedure, followed by a full body hair nullification treatment. Then he’s scheduled for a phallic control mod installation after lunch. Once that is done, he’s getting a full body and cranial control chip installed. Then finally, the order calls for a *chuckle* complete urinary and bowel muscle disintegration mod installation. Man, I've never seen that one on a mod list.”

As sheer panic set in after hearing that list, the second engineer pressed a button on the control panel, followed by the room computer announcing “Patient anesthesia administered, E.T.A until patient consciousness 24 hours."

Then my world went black.
