Battle UI Overhaul + New Animations + Mariel Scene Progress! 🔥

Heyo everyone! 👋

Just a short progress report:

This weekend I went a bit crazy and completely overhauled the dungeon defense and BattleUI.

The dungeon defense UI was getting cropped on some resolutions so that had to be fixed. While I was already in there I thought "hmm, why not improve the Battle UI too? Shouldn't take too long..."

Famous last words of a coder... 😅

In the end I pretty much had to redo the whole system to make it work the way I wanted. But I think it looks way better now. The old system felt way too complicated for an H game anyway, so I simplified it a lot.

The new system is now a real-time battle system. Position switching is gone. Instead lust animations are controlled via set filters, and you can now change those filters directly during the fight. Lust swaps work a bit differently too: depending on attraction there's now a chance the person you "bind to" will use her lust skill when you use combat skills. It feels much more similar to dungeon defense now, and you can still speed things up. Both systems have now an auto skill option too.

But wait, that's not all...

While I was deep in the code I figured "why not already add the attack animations for skills that I planned for later?" So... yeah, done.

Then when testing early fights I realized how bad the old static images looked during battles. Sooo I fully redid and animated all the default lust images as well.

The problem now is... the new default animations look way better than the "new old" ones 😂 It would feel like a downgrade once you unlock them.

So I changed it up: switching to the default clothes now also switches to the default animations.

At first I wanted to redo the current animations too, but I changed my mind. Some people might still prefer the old style, so I think it's better to add them as an alternative outfit set instead. Doing it for every outfit would explode my workload and the game size though, so I'm only planning to do it for one more set.

As I mentioned before, I'll start a poll soon where you can vote for the next outfit set to be added. Then I might either use that one for the lust animations, or do multiple polls per character so everyone gets 3 different lust attack variations to choose from.

I know a lot of you are waiting for the Mariel sex scene and I'm still grinding as hard on it as the MC soon on Mariel. A ton of animations are already finished and it's shaping up to be the biggest H-scene we've had so far (around 200 animations split between the 3 MC variations, since Sable is involved too). Should be done mid to end of next week.

The game just received another big update.
Update 0.8J.0 is out 🔥

Patchnotes:

All new groping animations are now finished, with many additional ones added. In total we are sitting at around 400 animations now, and nearly all of them have sound effects 🎧

This took a massive amount of work, but I am really happy with how they turned out. I put much more effort into them compared to before, because I plan to use them for H-scenes as well.

The new Nimeria H-scenes are a good example. That is why they already come with sound effects included.

I also activated their sound inside the BattleUI, but only for the MC tile. I do not want seven videos playing sound at the same time 😄

Two really long H-scenes were added:

Nimeria Contract Training
Nimeria Contract Training Repeat, Nimeria POV

The first one is triggered via a casual event. It triggers regardless of route and filter, but the H-content only activates on her route.

It includes groping, kissing, and foot content, depending on your filter settings.

Also, the compressed version videos now play sound as well. This includes the website version too.

Bug fixes:

Fixed mercenary dance animations not playing
Fixed Thalor underwear in diary
Changed image size in diaries
Fixed Nimeria diary menu, relationship tab and return button

So what is next? 👀

Now that all grope animations are finished, only some older facial expressions remain. I will work on those on the side. I did not get to them the past few days because I was fully focused on writing H-scenes and finishing the animations.

Liora x Seryk NTR groping received 20 new animations as well, and honestly, they look really good 😌 I plan to update her repeatable NTR scenes to use the new animations soon. They will come with sound effects too. Maybe next week.

The scenes will need to be rewritten though, since they have to be split into multiple smaller passages to make it work properly.

The rest still stands from my previous post:

MC x Liora H-scenes that lead into sex
One additional MC x Mariel scene
One more Thalor x Liora scene that can lead into another Mariel x MC scene

Then of course scene requests, including more Seryk x MC content and femboy MC x Sora content.

And more.

Additional plans:

I keep mentioning the corruption storyline of Chapter 9, which I am building towards. I am already shifting certain story parts into casual events so that we do not get overloaded once Chapter 9 properly begins.

Originally, the plan was to shift both MC and Liora corruption together, since it makes more sense story wise. But I have been thinking about it and it might be better to introduce the decision sooner. The related sex scene would shift slightly because of that.

To clarify, corruption does not mean slutify. She remains loyal to the MC,... well depending on route choices with Seryk, Thalor, Sora, Mariel, Serin, and Lucen... well you get the gist. It is more about a personality shift. I will not spoil it, but if you paid attention to earlier teasers, you can probably guess where things might go 😉

Some of you are wondering when the main story continues, or rather when Chapter 9 officially starts. The story is technically always progressing through casual events, but I understand what you mean.

I think we will move into Chapter 9 pretty soon.

There were some issues with certain scenes, especially involving a certain kitten, that were supposed to trigger earlier. But I have some ideas to still make them work.

New plan:

We will transition into Chapter 9 soon. I plan to actively work on it between January 23rd and February 1st.

During that time I will also begin the feminization scenario. Not a full shift yet, but several events that push the MC more into that direction.

What is planned for this weekend? 💭

Now that the grope animations are done, it is easier to focus on adding more H-content.

I plan to add two more scenes this weekend. They might not be for everyone.

One is a longer Serin scene for both male and femboy MC, similar in structure to the Nimeria one. It will include foot content and unlock battle foot groping as well.

The other is Seryk x femboy MC. This one might be even less for everyone 😅

It is a dream corruption scene that leads into Seryk developing a new fetish. Seryk submissive, femboy MC dominant.

For that, we will need another casual event where you can finally choose how your femboy MC wants to be treated and addressed, pronouns, names, and similar details.

So this weekend the feminization events will continue slightly as well.

Quality of life improvements are planned too ⚙️

I am working on an auto-save function. It will only activate if you enable it, so it does not overwrite your existing save slots. I will most likely use the last slot as the auto-save slot.
