Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need to continue supporting the page to keep playing the game?
No. The game will authenticate and play as normal even if you're not supporting the page anymore, as long as the build came out whilst you were still subscribed.
Q: How do I join the Discord?
Link your Discord with your Subscribestar account, and you'll be automatically added.
Q: Does this work with the Quest 2?
Yes, but only if connected to a VR-capable PC with SteamVR via a cable or airlink/virtual desktop.
Q: How often does the game update?
Milestone (major) updates are released every month near the end of the month. Test build updates are released earlier throughout the month when new features are ready for testing.
Q: How do I update the game?
Each build is standalone, meaning it is the entire game. Download the build, extract it to a clean folder, and run the .exe. You no longer need the older versions of the game.
Q: What are the minimum PC requirements?
For 2D mode: Most PCs with a dedicated graphics card, and newer PCs with integrated graphics should work.
For VR: a GTX 960 and an 8th gen i5 equivalent should be capable of handling the game, but more recent hardware is encouraged.
Q: What features does the game have?
Visit the website at
anthroheat.com for a list of the main features.
Q: How do I play the game after becoming a supporter?
Go to the posts section of the page and find the latest milestone post. The download and instruction links are there.
Q: My game or authentication isn't working.
First try the solutions at the bottom of the milestone post. If these do not work, ask in the Discord (preferred) or message through Subscribestar.
Q: Is there a place I can download custom poses?
In the Discord there is a thread under the Heat channel. Click the hashtag icon in the top right and join the custom poses thread. You may post your own poses there as well.
Q: How do I attach a waist tracker to use as a grain bind point?
Make sure the tracker is connected to SteamVR then set the waist tracker as "waist" in the SteamVR tracker settings. It should automatically be recognized in game as a gray puck. Bring toys close to this puck and let go to attach them to it.
Q: How do I connect my IRL toy to the game?
In most cases simply turn on the toy whilst Heat is running. Make sure bluetooth is enabled on your computer, but DO NOT pair the toy to your computer. DO NOT have interface running.
Q: Will there be a Quest 2 standalone version?
Uncertain. We'll attempt it when we're done removing SteamVR from the game, but there's no guarantee the game will run on the Quest 2 hardware.
Q: Will there be multiplayer?
Uncertain. It'd be a colossal undertaking and would require hiring specialists. If it's attempted it would only be attempted far in the future.
Q: Will you add x/y/z to the game?
Features are polled when we're ready to tackle new ones. This includes new characters. Vote on your favorite features/characters when you see a feature interest poll on Subscribestar. Until then, our development plate is extremely full.
Q: Does the game support modding?
Partial modding support is currently implemented. Character modding support is in the works
Q: Will the game be on Steam?
Hopefully! That's the plan.
