It's been a while and thus it's time to give you guys an update on where I'm at with the next update!
TheClub is expanding!
Since last update laid a lot of groundwork to build on, I've been hard at working putting some flesh on those bony parts of the game. The game has a new short main story chapter which will unlock new club research options. Mainly five new rooms for the club! Or, maybe it's four club rooms and one special room that's not used in the same fashion...
Girls, girls, girls
Also, all the previously locked career/job options are now unlocked. To tell you the truth, most of my time went into the club simulation for the new rooms and the jobs. Maybe excessively so and by the end of it I kinda questioned whether I should have taken some shortcuts with the simulation system. Alas, what is done is done. It might need some tweaking here and there, and I'm guessing there will be errors because there's thousands of lines of new code for the jobs and rooms.

I didn't want the new update to be completely void of actual content, so I'm currently working on adding some new events to the club. Most of them will have varying degrees of lewdness to boot! You will mostly see the usual suspects: Natalie, Hannah, Jennifer and Samantha - you (or the customer) will finally get that private dance you've been promised all this time. I thought it might be best to focus on them a bit more so that there's actually some corruption to be had. Though the corruption isn't really visible outside of the club events right now. Eventually, the corruption level will change the way the girls talk and what activities they will do on their free time. But that's probably far in the future...
Enough! When's the next update coming out?
Well, that depends. My real work's been busting my nuts, but I've been trying to dedicate a set amount of hours on the project each week. And I'd like to add more events to the club! More things for you to play through and discover! The current version already has about 200 renders to it, so I've been busy.
If I'll stick with only five or so rendered events, the beta version might be out in a week or two. If I were to go above and beyond with the content, it will take 1-2 more weeks still. Especially if I want to add some reactivity and causality to the events. It's something I'd very much like to do, but it might be best to save it for the updates that will focus purely on new events
Okay, what's next?
After this update, I will work on reworking on the school mechanics. And some things need to happen or the players won't be able to fill the ever expanding club with hostesses... So, the school and grading system will be reworked, and there will be goals you will want to reach. Achieving the goals will net you special requests or privileges, such as choosing a new school uniform for the girls.
So, as I've said, the next update is all about updating the club mechanics. The progress is steady, but it can feel a bit slow since there is a lot of ground to cover at once (there's about 3k new lines of code and enumerators, jeez). Here's basically what I have ready and what's still to be done for this update. Well, as ready as they will be for the beta at least. The UI might change, but the underlying functionality is probably going to stay intact.
READY: - New club management screen - Room upgrade system - Reputation system - Hostess job/class system - New customer system - Revamped club simulation - Compatibility with older saves (tbh I'm blown away that it seems to work)

Each night you'll receive a report about what happened during the night and how it affected the girls' different statistics. There is still some info missing - hence the amount of empty space.
A pretty crude first UI for the room upgrades, but it allows you to level up the room and select the upgrades you'd like.
For instance, you can choose some sexy pink lights for the Hangout room. Truly worth the wait, eh? While this won't make your dicks hard or nether regions wet, I hope it will make the day-to-day gameplay be more fun and interesting!
Since not everyone spends all their time reading through my Discord, I thought it might be useful to let you the rest of you know what's going on with the development and what's in store, where the game's heading etc.
First of all, I'm trying to have the next Early Access for the Detention Supervisors up by the end of next week. I've got a ton of stuff I still need to do, so we'll see if I'll make it. I'm going to try my best, though. My day job's just kinda been crushing me with deadlines and really difficult tasks, so it's been hard to sneak in some Club Detention development time.
In the next update, I've done an overhaul for the Journal's character sheet. It's still not perfect, but you can see more of the girls' stats, club status, club class (these do nothing yet, though, sorry) and their favorite subjects. And all the characters are neatly categorized and ordered alphabetically. I've added new level 0 hostess club events to the club and moved the current level 0 events up to the next rank. I think this makes for a more believable start for the girls in the club.
I know I've been talking about releasing Samantha's storyline for a while now, but I'm afraid I couldn't resist continuing Natalie's storyline for a bit. She gets a few more story scenes and a new ritual.
Fans of buff girls will also be pleased to hear that Shirley will have a new after-workout option for those of you who have been training hard with her. The other beefcake, Hannah, gets a couple of brief massage parlor scenes as well. Muscle fans rejoice.
So, what's next for Club Detention..?
Besides getting some Samantha in the game, I've been planning on redoing the school and class system. Instead of forcing you to make a timetable each Monday and having you attend classes to raise the girls' grades, the school will have a similar management interface to that in the club. Basically, assign teachers to teaching different subjects you've unlocked. Also, you won't be required to attend each class to raise the girls' grades. I've been thinking about other major changes to the game flow, but I'll have to keep thinking about those and whether or not I want to make drastic changes to it now or ever.
And now that a certain someone has joined the school's ranks, I'd like to start adding more research options to unlock more club rooms, an alternative curriculum, new school outfits etc. The problem with this is that the existing club rooms also require some tender love and care - that is, more content for all the girls. It'll be a constant balancing act to push the game forward and beef out the previous parts.
