Hey guys.
Not much progress to speak off. In the last post I mentioned that I've setup new lighting that made rendering a lot quicker. With a downside that there were some "fireflies". And it looked like there were so few fireflies that I could just use photoshop to fix that issue.
I was wrong. In some renders there were just a few fireflies, but in many others there wasfar too many. (see picture below).
I've rendered the first scene (45 renders) before I realized just how bad it gets. So I scrapped all of renders and decided to redo all of the lighting again.
The key is quality, but speed also matters. In this case a whole lot. With the new lighting the images are rendered within 2.5 and 5 minutes each. Most are around 3 minutes. With the old lighting it was between about 8 and 15 minutes per render, with most being above 10 minutes. Yes, lighting can make that great of a difference.
So, I wanted to keep my new lighting setup and just figure out why the fireflies were appearing. I know that this setup can work perfectly fine. I used similar technique in the last two updates, with no issues. This took forever to figure out.
Long story short I finally was able to figure things out about 6 hours ago. Since then I have been redoing all the sets for the 45 renders I've posed. It's going to take a few more hours. And anbother 12-14 hours to render all the images. Funnily enough it takes Daz longer to load these sets than it takes to render them. I am going to use software than will batch render them so I just need to redo the lighting, save and move on to another set and when I am done I'll just tell it to render everything and later today it should all be done.
Really sucks to have wasted so much time (insert quick rant about Daz3D developers fu**ing lighting emitters, yet again), but I've learned a few new things about this piece of sh&%$...
Ahem..
Have an awesome weekend.
Sit tight, smile wide.
