Hello everybody,
Unfortunately I am going to have to announce a very short delay to v.0.13 to give myself an extra couple of days to make some more renders for a scene nearly all the Alpha Testers have complained is too short.
Everything was going really well for this update, however I've now had feedback from my 4 Alpha Testers and 3 of them, without consulting each other because they don't know who the others are, have all mentioned and complained that one particular scene which is on multiple paths feels jarringly and noticeably short and needs to be extended.
The really last thing I want to do after six months real hard work and in an update of over 5,000 renders have people remember it as "yeah it was good but that one scene was really short/sucked and kind of ruined it." , especially when an extra few days rendering would completely fix that complaint.
So starting up rendering again tonight and over the weekend I should be able to get an additional 50-150 renders made by Monday-Tuesday significantly extending the scene.
Apart from that, everything else is ready to go with the update. Bugs are fixed, the gallery works, new Computer UI works, everything else is done, this delay is just so that I can get this one scene perfect. It means v.0.13 will go from 5,104 renders to 5,200-250ish. 
So I really apologise for the delay and I know some people will have been wanting to play on Sunday and this will completely ruin their plans and I'm really sorry for that, but the silver lining is that v.0.13 will be slightly bigger and overall a lot better!

Defending Lydia Collier v.0.13 Update Progress

Hey all!
Hope you're looking forward to Defending Lydia Collier's v.0.13 release later this month (15.05.22)!
Just to let you know I have completed 5,000 individual renders and 4 animations for v.0.13, which I'm really happy with and for comparison, it means v.0.13 will be double the size of the entirety of Shadows over Manston.

Those pledged at $10+, this month's renders will be made and released after v.0.13 as I've got a very busy couple of weeks coming up. With the votes from all sites combined, Corrupted Ellie and Bimbo Steph tied, just beating the Collier Girls, so Bimbo Steph will feature alongside the Wickes Household. 
For the menu, Ellie won both polls, public and supporter, so she'll feature as the main girl and the runner up from the supporter poll was Bimbo Steph, so she'll be the background character.

v.0.13 Progress (2,383 Renders done so far)

Hello everybody!
Here is the latest on v.0.13 and how it is going.
So far, 2,383 renders are completed, along with 3 animations, meaning if I dropped the update tomorrow it would be nearly 1,000 renders bigger than the previous record high update, but there's still plenty more to be added until it is done.
I've very nearly finished Lydia's path now, along with Jenna's and one of Ellie's paths.
Bimbo Steph's render count has gone down from the last time? On the graph yes, in reality, no. Unfortunately I "copied" the 215 frame animation (all the images are renders separately for animations) into the animation folder whereas I thought I had, and intended, to move them. This meant when I went into the Steph folder to get the previous total by just reading the amount of images in the folder, it included 215 renders for the animation. I've now taken them out and all the animations are counted separately now and not included in any of the counts.
Thanks for your patience with this, in reality it is likely to be another month or two before the update is fully completed. I've still got tons more scenes planned for Ellie's path and Vanessa's, although Vanessa has the benefit of being nearly entirely outdoors on the island which means her path will render a lot quicker than anybody else's thanks to sunlight.
Whilst it will take a while, this update is going to be bigger than my first 18 months worth of updates for the game combined, so I'm certain it will be worth the wait!

Defending Lydia Collier v.0.13 Update Progress

Hello everybody!
I hope you're all well!
I just thought I'd update you all with what is happening with Defending Lydia Collier v.0.13, and explain more why it is taking longer than some of the other updates.
Firstly, everything is going very well development wise, I've completed roughly 2000 renders so far, and could drop the biggest ever update size wise tomorrow, but there's a lot more that actually needs to be done before v.0.13 is perfect as I imagine it.
As you may or may not know, Defending Lydia Collier's final update is v.0.16, it isn't going to be a game that runs on constantly forever, it does have an end in sight. Because of this, I'm trying to put as much as possible into each update so they're really fulfilling, and when the game is finished it will be everything I imagined it to be when I set off with this venture.
That means Defending Lydia Collier v.0.13 is going to be enormous, size wise this update is going to be bigger than the entire game's development from v.0.1 up until v.0.9 (which were released from July 2019 through January 2021). I'm expecting the update to end up in the 4000+ render range when it is finally completed.
That's the simple reason it is taking so long, if we look at v.0.12 it took two months and was 1500 renders in total, well Bimbo Steph's path is going to be over 1000 alone, and I plan on giving significant content to every single major character this update.
This is also where Vanessa and Ellie's split paths romantically begin, much like Steph's two paths, these two will have wildly different futures depending on what you want them to be like.
There's no problems or anything with Development, the cause of the increased length of time is simply that the update is going to be bigger than anything I've ever released before, and not just by a few hundred, by a few thousand. 
I'll try and update this weekly so you can see how close we're getting, the good thing with this update from now on though, is that a lot of the environments are now built. Vanessa's environment is done, we're on the island, Ellie's house was built for the last update. So these paths will be quicker to render. Whilst there have been some new environments built (I've attached some of the "High Street" I've been building (you may or may not have seen these before), I'm really trying to make a "unique" feel for the game so I've been building some really unique places that you'll never find anywhere else in the 3D Game universe and I'm quite proud of them) all I have to do now is build Lydia's new home and finish building the new restaurant. Then we'll see the render counts going up even faster because the entire thing will be posing and lighting and rendering, rather than customising textures, building locations etc.
Thanks for all the new and continued support! It enables me to continue working on this as my full time job, so really thank you! The support I've got here is the reason I've not gone straight onto the next stage of Legal Studies and got a desk job somewhere, and stopped to instead consider this as a career, so it really means a lot as I really enjoy doing it.
Make sure to join the Discord if you haven't already, I'm very active there and show a lot of previews and you have unique roles attached to your subscription if you're a supporter. I'm also very open to suggestions (there's a room there for them) and constructive criticism.
As I'm nearly done with the Technical Side of things, so there will be a Beta Test available soon for the new computer system so keep an eye out if you are interested in that as I'll announce it when I'm done and its a great chance to give some feedback before I put it into the game if it is something you've disliked before.

Hey everybody!
Thanks for the amazing amount of support everybody has shown me throughout the year! This has gone from something which was a part time at Uni to now something I'm working on full time, and I couldn't have made that switch without all of your support!
So what are the plans now?
Defending Lydia Collier has 4 updates left, and I'm hoping to have v.0.13 out around New Year time and then the game as a first version wrapped up by March, then I'll be finishing Shadows over Manston whilst I fully polish Defending Lydia Collier for its final release.
Then it will be time to start working on a new game.

v.0.12.1 will be out on Saturday.
Hello everybody,
Just some notes on Defending Lydia Collier v.0.12.1, it will be out to Early Access first as it adds a decent amount of new content (350+ renders), new scenes and new adult scenes and isn't a simple bug fix as originally intended, it is a small update instead.
$5+ Tier Release Date: Saturday 20th November.
$3+ Tier (and Legacy Tier) Release Date: Tuesday 23rd November.
General Release: Saturday 27th November.
Unfortunately changing the computer I've just come to realise is going to take me months. Nothing is templated or or anything like that, so I need to go through and manually edit every single news article, every single website, and that's made me question "Surely I can make this a template or something!?" and suddenly the amount of technical changes I need to learn to do and make is going to take even longer to do it properly. For v.1.0 is important to make sure everything is done correctly, and also gives me the skills to quickly do this in the long term if I learn it. So for now, I'm going to put the new story content into the old computer system, add in Sophie's tablet separately and release a complete, working v.0.12.1.

What will be included:

New adult scene and an extended earlier scene with Ellie.
New office scenes with Ellie, Samantha and Stephanie.
New evening scene with Jenna.
New adult scene with Jenna.
New mission scene with Kylie.
New mission evidence images.
So v.0.12.1 will add over 350 renders to the game, making it a mini update as such, additionally these improvements will be included with v.0.12.1:

Transparency slider for the text box.
Bug fix and complete code overhaul for Chloe's Whistle (enormous thanks to Morbil for helping me with this).
Bug fixes for all v.0.12 bugs.
New Gallery to replay unlocked adult scenes.
New voice acted evidence to advance the story.
Complete and up to date walkthrough.
Sophie's tablet containing her diary.
Audio implemented throughout the day.

What will not be included:

New UI I'm working on to overhaul the computer. This will be added when it is done.

For the future:

What I'll then do is separately keep chipping away at the computer coding change until it is eventually done piece by piece, and start work on v.0.13 at the same time. When the coding for that is all done, I'll just very happily swap out the code scripts and release it separately, it won't be tied to an update.

I'm aware that at this point some people may say "Dude just hire a coder to do it for you". However I really like being able to work on each aspect of the game, even if it means I need to spend time learning new things. If I outsource the code, and the coder disappears (as they'd have to be a freelancer) I'm then in the position of trying to find another coder to do the first coder's work. I've seen other AVNs completely crash and burn because their artist or their writer disappears, and I couldn't think of anything worse than not being able to progress because of a situation like that.

Regarding walkthrough spoilers, I've simplified it and what I consider "Major Spoilers" for future content have a separate page linked to the choice at the very back of the guide. As the content reveals itself in game I'll remove and amend this list and eventually it won't be present in the v.1.0 walkthrough. So if you don't want to see these, don't look, they'll be at the very back with a warning, and you can use the walkthrough otherwise.
