Updates (Where I'm at Right Now)

I'm way behind on writing. I've hardly had any time to do so. I still plan on finishing the commissions that I accepted in January and February. There are 3 at the moment. I've finally got some time to work on them , unless something happens, which it could at any moment...

Commissions will open again when I feel like I'm able to reliably take them on again.

Real Life Stuff

Some of you may already know why I've been absent for an extended amount of time (I mentioned it in Discord at some point), but here's a post to catch everyone else up to speed...

Around the end of February, my grandmother fell down. She banged her head and ended up with a brain bleed. She also happened to have a UTI, which, if you didn't already know, makes elderly people lose their fucking minds. This all happened about a week after taking her for a PET scan because she has cancer. At this point, we hadn't learned the results of that scan yet.

She was admitted to the hospital for about a week. There, we learn that her cancer isn't just isolated to her mouth. It's fucking everywhere. Mouth, neck, chest, bones, and stomach. Not a good prognosis, although the doctor has some hope to at least extend her life a few years with a 50/50 chance of the therapy working, which isn't a whole lot, but she's in her mid-80's, soooo... ya know, that's better than the 3-6 months that the doctor gives her without treatment... But, she has to recover from the fall to even be given the immunotherapy...

Skip forward a week, and she's in physical therapy rehab. Basically, it's short-term nursing home care. Skip forward 3 weeks from that, and she's home and actually pretty close to being herself again, which is... not what I was expecting, to be completely honest.

Skip forward to now, and... things are... a bit more complicated... cause she can't remember shit. Like, as the person in charge of her affairs, we went to the bank and she added me to her accounts so I could take that burden off her shoulders. The next day, she doesn't remember that. She's also commented on how I look too skinny to be 6-months pregnant--which is true, I am too skinny for that--because I'm not pregnant... My sister is...

But yeah, I'm at the point that my duties include gaslighting my grandma. As a precaution, I took her checkbook and credit cards when she was in the rehab facility and I haven't given them back yet, which feels fucking terrible, but she was already a shopaholic before the accident. I don't need her ordering a thousand things that she doesn't remember or need, or falling for some kind of scam calls...

And, as you might have guessed from my initial mentioning of the immunotherapy, this makes things far more complicated. I don't think they'll give her any kind of treatment if she's having issues like this, and she doesn't exactly have time to wait and get better. That 3-6 months is now down to 2-5 months...

So yeah, between being exhausted most of the time, having flares of anxiety whenever someone calls or texts me, I haven't been in a the state of mind to write.

I haven't made an update here in a while. Sorry about that!

So, I've still been releasing content in the discord channel. Commissions are full at the moment. In the queue we have:

I should have more of these finished, but these last 2 weeks have been ROUGH~. If something can go wrong, it has gone wrong. I currently don't have my ADHD meds again due to shortages, I've had 2 separate issues with having to fix house stuff. One of which was a leak, so now I have a hole in my ceiling, and another in a wall. I had jury duty today. And according to the mail, I have jury duty AGAIN (?!?) next month??? What the literal fuck. And, I also have a neurologist appointment tomorrow, which is normal, but still annoying to have to do.

So, yeah, I've not gotten a lot done since Thanksgiving. Anyway, I'm working on these commissions in no particular order. The original plan was to be done with everything by the 20th. Now, that's looking more like the 27th. We'll see, though.

Story Update! Also, commissions are open!

There are two stories available in the #subscriber-links channel on discord. One is from the 5th of September (Breeding the Oni Women [Inuyasha]), and the other was just posted today (Samus and the Slime [Metroid]).

I'll try to publicly post the one from September later today. I'll also try to post the newest one today, too, but no promises. Either way, you can check out the links in that channel if you wanna.

Again, sorry for the delays. I took a vacation in the middle of September, which was kinda neat. I mean, it wasn't my idea, really, but I'm not going to turn down a trip to Italy... sooo... that's where I was for a week. Lots of walking... so much walking... ugh... But, it was nice. I can't complain... aside from the amount of people that smoke on the tiny sidewalks of Venice... blargh...

And then I got home. There was apparently a tropical storm that came through and was kinda meh. And then there was another storm which was far less meh, and has been the bane of my internet connection ever since. Here's hoping It can remain stable for a full day for once...

It's no biggie if you can't cause I know circumstances change, especially if you're in the SE US right now. I can still keep you in the queue, though. No problem.

Blargh. Life Updates.

I'm still alive. I've been kinda ill for about a week now. I developed a sinus infection, which you might think, like, "Oh, that sucks." It's not a regular sinus infection, though. The effected sinus presses against a nerve in a back molar, which then makes me miserable with radiating, throbbing pain. It sucks. It's happened to me ~3 times now, and each time is absolutely terrible.

Around Tuesday night I decided to get some of the fancy, "behind the pharmacy counter" medication, which worked pretty well. I wasn't happy, but I wasn't miserable anymore, so GG? But there was a tender, raised area on the side of the roof of my mouth, kinda near the tooth. "Oh fuck," right? So, I went to the dentist today and they were like, "I'unno. Here's a script for antibiotics and stuff. Also, that thing in your mouth isn't in the right spot to be associated with any kind of tooth infection. What is it? I dunno? Don't worry about it, I guess? Now, gtfo and go to the pharmacy."

So, today is my first day of antibiotics. I was good for a bit, but then the nausea hit me all at once. The good news is that my mouth feels better-ish. We'll see what happens over the next few days.

This all comes after the previous week where I learned my new MS meds are feasibly making my white blood cell count lower, which can feasibly make me more prone to infection, slow healing, etc. which would explain a lot that's been happening recently. There's been more than a few minor injuries I've taken, like little scrapes that barely broke the skin, that have turned to scars cause they healed so slowly. I just figured, "I'm getting older. I guess older people heal slower, right?" as if I was in my 80's or some shit...

It all kinda makes me like, >_>;;; ...Maybe I should switch up medicines? Like, yeah, I'm not killed by heat now, but I can get COVID easier? Also, I'm like the reverse-Wolverine in terms of healing, and the meds have a tendency to increase my blood pressure. Soooooooooooooooooo, is this really worth it in the end? At that point, as much as I hate it, I think I'd rather just deal with a weekly shot to the thigh again, and never being able to tolerate the scorching heat outside.

Anyway, I just wanted to give everyone a public update on my status. I still plan on getting these stories done soon-ish. This current one should have definitely been done last weekend, but I guess that's just part of the curse because I told the client I only had 2k left... And it has been the slowest 2k I've ever written. Plus, it's going to be a bit over anyway, so... yay me.

But, otherwise, I'm doing fine. Don't worry about me. I'm mostly just bitching about health stuff. Everyone has problems, so take good care of yourselves and stuff. <3

So, you know how I love to never update things because posting publicly is kind of annoying, right? Posting here is kind of the same thing. It's definitely not as easy as Patreon, which is kind of a bummer because I have to remember how to use SubscribeStar's markdown stuff... and then I always have to go back and edit a message cause I did something wrong with it...

Either way, I apologize for my radio silence.

As far as updates, I'm partially done with each of the 3 remaining commissions because I tried this weird, ADHD-as-fuck method where I decided to outline all 4 (at the time) before I started the first one. It is far less stressful now but it did set me back a little (which is why it's August now...). It's an odd trade-off, but I do like having a roadmap so I can immediately start the next comm without having to reset my brain. With a little more refinement, this could work well. We'll see how it goes.

In other news, I just realized I haven't had a poll in ages. I'll probably put one out soon. If you have any ideas that you want pitch as a suggestion then please let me know. :D

In other other news, I'm writing this message while a tropical storm swirls overhead, so that's neat. =P
