Devlog (25 Jun 24) Still working on the ending of the prologue to Pangaia Hinxworth
IRL has been kicking my ass well these past few weeks, so I will not be releasing it as quickly as I had thought. I won't specify what has been kicking up a storm, know it has been quite potent.
As a way of saying forgive me, Keket is in the three transition forms: human, partial, and full transformation.
The 8th scene of nine of the prologue to Pangaia Hinxworth is broken into pre-battle and battle sections. I've completed the first part with 129 renders. I have no idea what the render count will be for the completed scene, though my money is on the number more than doubling.
The ninth scene is to be short, though I am thinking of doing body morphs and adding blood, of course.ย
Devlog (30 May 24) Working on the prebattle of the main scene (1st half)
First, a test pic I made for a full render that has been completed. This is Temer Kralrui, the leader of the party of plunderers in the prologue, holding the surviving chunk of the Absinthe Faerie, the meteor that struck in northern Afallon. I working on the ending of the first part of the 8th scene of the prologue of Pangaia Hinxworth. There are nine scenes in total in the prologue. The two sections of the scene I've labeled prebattle and battle. The 1st through 7th scenes have been released as v0.0.1.
The second portion of the scene will have longer renders due to the addition of several models of Cthunhoniasma (bad guys), both beasts and intelligent characters. I'm unsure how many renders will be, though the minimum will be equivalent to what I've done so far (80 renders).
As the title suggests, I have not taken any time off since making the initial release.
I've worked on ten renders that needed postwork to cover poke-throughs. I have found a way around by doing pre-rendering by turning off the underlying body part that caused said poke-throughs. It doesn't work every time, though, like when the clothes do not cover all the body parts.
I re-did the pre-splash and it looks better. I may do so again, being a perfectionist and fresh ideas abounding in my skull.
For some unknown reason, I swapped the names between an orc and an elf during the crater repel section during the initial discovery of Khig Kalduhr, the abandoned Durinn city. So the fix is in.
I cleared up some petty grammar issues. You know the type, something only I would notice, not most of the players would take any heed of? ๐
I rendered a few more screenshots, adding to the earlier work I had done on scene eight to smooth out the transition and give a more concise look at the entry to Khig Kalduhr. (For those who do not know, the initial release contained scenes one through seven.)
The dialogue for the renders of scene eight has the first draft. No more rendering forever, and hoping I will remember what the story was I had in mind when doing the actual renders. A smart idea that, eh?
I have filled in the missing Codex entries that some have received errors on and added a few more as well... Uh? Make that as "I created more entries, not errors, to the Codex." ๐ Hopefully, they are errorless, though there are a few placeholders. Sometimes, there is too much information flow, and too many other responsibilities to cover.
By the way, the Codex is there STRICKLY as a place for those intrigued with the world of Pangaia. Nothing dealing with the game itself. A source of information for the truly geeky among you.
As far as the Codex work goes, here is a small glimpse of the format I am working with: So, as some may realize, tracking down missing entries CAN be annoying, and lead to balding... The balding part was already there, but you know where I'm going with that. ๐
Devlog (9 May 24) The initial release is close at hand!
Yes, I'm nearly finished with Pangaia Hinxworth v0.0.1. The version number means the Prologue (the second '0'), and the first part (the '1').
I have to finish the back-to-back sex scenes and make sure all the codex entries are entered. Then... TA-TA-TUM! The initial release will be published.
I'd have completed the dialogue for those sex scenes except I am exhausted, cause it's almost midnight.
I have more Codex entries than I originally planned. I am a bit of a perfectionist, you know. I saw several items in the Codex that HAD to be entered, of course. Sooo... I have several more entries to scan through, but that should be completed in a few hours.
If everything works out tomorrow evening I should have the game ready for publishing.
If I can get the game published by tomorrow, the various times for the releases will be:
Devlog (28 Apr 24) Found a simple codex code for Ren'Py
Yep, I found what I have been looking for: Ren'Py Codex screen by Skolaztika!!! Of course, this gave me LOTSA stuff I had to get codexed, beta-tested, etcetera.
Now, before you guys rip into me about coding a lot of new stuff, I have limited the items in the Codex to those that appear in the dialogue in the 1st part of the prologue. Though, the thing I have found most time-consuming is beta-testing. You know, mistyping Ren'Py coding and such.
Also, it took me over a week, almost two, to fully recover from that seizure I mentioned earlier. It normally takes me a day to get my mind up and running, MAYBE two. That damn seizure was very potent, to put it mildly... Don't you luv IRL?! ๐คจ
So now, I am working on the limited number of Codex entries and, of course, the dialogues left for the Prologue, Part 1.
I will see you later, hopefully when I make my initial release.
PS Don't forget, I'm on "vacation" right now, so any paying subscribers are not being charged until I make that initial release. ๐
