The Proteus Effect 10.1 Public Release
The Proteus Effect 10.3 is now out for supporters, and that means it's time for the 10.1 to go public! 10.1 focuses mostly on the new arena, but also includes a number of UI improvements. You can get it here:
Changelog
- Added 4 unique arena fights
- Added several skits, scenes, characters and conversations (mostly centered around the arena fights; some as a spectator at arena)
- Added some arena rewards, including a way to purchase (a limited number of) consumables
- Added enchantments and gems, two new ways to power up items, along with small gem and enchant quests
- Revamped item screen to accommodate gems and enchants
- A new (hopefully more pleasant) UI
- New, much better looking icons, with distinct icons for many objects that didn’t have them before
- More consistent design language for icons (state icons show at a glance whether it’s good or bad, abilities have one common look, easier to tell a really good item from an okay one)
- Combat info screen, so you can find info about states and such (including whether they’re curable, etc.)
- Removed extraneous resource bars (Ana no longer has MP, Alex no longer has TP, etc)

The Proteus Effect 10.0.4 Public Release
I’m uploading 10.2 for supporters right now, so that means it’s time to publicly release 10.0.4! In this release, Alex and the others return to the Oracle to ask about the strange figure that was causing trouble in Cape Hope - and meet someone unexpected on the way. Our heroes also try to gain the assistance of a rival guild, The Hell, in their fight against the dragon. Getting their help doesn't sound so bad... at least until they discover the ancient dungeon!
Changelog (vs. 0.9):
- 3 (technically 4) new quests
- New puzzle levels
- New sneaking mission
- New dungeon, boss fight and miniboss fight
- New H-scene (25 images)
- New outfit (pajamas) and character view renders
- Added the West Wind (for staff quest)
- New gear
- New special currencies/rewards (that don’t do anything until 10.1)
- Approximate playtime of new content: 6-8 hours

The Proteus Effect 0.9.8 Public Release
I'm uploading 10.0 for supporters right now, so that means it's time to publicly release 0.9.8!
Changelog (vs. 0.8)
- 2 new H-scenes
- 7-ish quests, depending on how you count
- 1 (small) dungeon
- 2 boss fights
- 1 minigame
- New district
- Several new skits
- An autosave feature
- A vast number of fixed bugs
- Improved game performance (hopefully)
- Approximate new content playtime: 5-7 hours
