Saturday Update October 9, 2021

Hello my friends.
Had a good week. I pretty much fixed the issue I was having last week, though in a roundabout way.
I spent less time on rendering, and more with writing the script into the game, as well as rewriting the script as I went along.
I often find that a line could be presented better, or the rendering influences the writing. Interesting since the writing influenced the render in the first place. Essentially, I write a scene, render it, then rewrite to scene to fit the render.
But I am practically done with the introduction part of the game.
Why have I slowed down?
I really haven’t wanted to get into this, but while everything I have posted is true, I left out that my time has unfortunately been split.
With the medical issues that have popped up with my “significant other”, our income dropped, and our savings took a harder hit than expected. I ignored it for a time, but there was a problem on the horizon, and I had to deal with it.
So, I started working on another source of income. Nothing significant, but enough to push the problem down the road. Problem is it cut my time to work on this project in half. If not more.
What is left in the Visual Novel?
The introduction story needs about 3 renders, and to write out more dialogue. I am writing this early Saturday, so I am hoping I can get that done today.
I am also planning on a “bonus” scene. (Not what anyone is expecting.) So, I have to set that up, and render it. I expect it to go quick.
I still have to finish a hat for Mrs. Howell, pose her, and put her into the promo scene, then that is done.
Then all I have to do is to adjust how the VN looks. It still has that generic Ren’Py look to it, and I want to get it a little more personalized. A little more “professional” flair to it.
In other words, I need to make it pretty.
Final Thoughts
I am in the endgame now. Took way (way, way), longer than I expected. Had way too many disasters negatively affect me. Made a lot of mistakes, and learned a lot of lessons. I still don’t think things are perfect, but I have seen many imperfect visual novels, so I hope people are forgiving. (Until they see the “Bonus” scene that is.)
Still expecting it released by the end of October.
As always, enjoy life.
