From the High Library of Ang-Saellirith:
Those Who Came Before. By Orlyth, Godirn of the Nauheimian Temple of the Great Divinities.
Aeons before the foundation of our realms were laid down by the Primordial Divinities, before even the First Roar which stirred them, whirred the wheels of time – there was Nothing. Some refer to it as Chaos others as the Null. Chaos, Null – whatever you may prefer to call It – though did birthed its first child, the greatest of the Elder Dragons, Nadrediorn. Untold aeons he spent exploring the emptiness, though the reason he withheld from his first disciples who became the Snow-Scaled Circle. A few tried divining, from the dourness of his Left Eye peering into the distant past, how he may have believed he was not the sole child of Nothingness, of Chaos, of the Null.
From these hypotheses, born our conviction that the First Roar he bellowed into the empty terrains, wakened the first of our creators. From the Empty Heavens and Seas, born Halguvhea who reigned our own Heavens and Oceans, sways our destinies in the chaotic seas, records the memories of all in the infinite library beneath the watery heavens of her realm. Then came her husband, the Great Architect of our realm, the ruler of Elements and Matter, their little brother who brought the first dawn into the nothingness, forged the Laws of our Reality. And our magnificent Mother, Viduthia who bestowed all kynd with her Gift of Beauty and of Magic. And who later as the rest began the Great Work, wandered to find their wakener, wishing to show him their progress, and because in her heart the First Love stirred.
She knew not how long she wandered, on the advice of the other Elder Dragons who wakened alongside the Primordial Gods. She questioned each, knowing they possessed a link stronger, and followed the trail to the Veil erected by the Great Architect. There in the great black wall, she stood frozen with the first fear, which she triumphed over hearing the Second Roar of Nadrediorn. One of pain born of battle.
Unbeknownst to the Primordial Gods and the Elder Dragons, Nadrediorn sensed something beyond the Veil early into the Great Work. He ventured beyond and soared again the Nothingness, followed the malodorous trail when in his horror, discovered the ten formless and mindless beasts whose mere presence repulsed him. Nadrediorn battle the Ten alone for millennia until Viduthia caught up to him and charged fearless seeing the many wounds, the blood dulling the snow-silver scales. Together, they beaten the Ten, imprisoned nine whilst one scurried further into nothingness, where it remained in hiding, until claimed by another.
The Nine observed from below the Great Work, the ordering of the realms, watched the first of us walk the united lands of Thulyandiv, and evolved with us. As we learned and developed confidence, gained a sense of purpose, Pride roused; when we learned to desire things impalpable, and of sustenance, Avarice awakened without bounds; when we developed love, desires of each other’s flesh in tender embraces, received the concept of natalism, upon seeing the magnificence Viduthia bestowed us all with to varying degrees, Lust erected; when we knew not yet of war, developed with peace and calm, serenity, Wrath broke its shell and bellowed in its prison; when we developed ambition, gained the desire to seek and achieve as did the Primordial Divinities did, Sloth shambled within its bed; when we gained independence, evolved the sense of freedom, but also of guidance, Domination elected itself upon its throne of shackles; when we learned of the Great Work, and developed desire to make our own, to establish systems, Ruin ambled amongst the remains of his cocoon; when we received belief, learned to trust those dearest and closest to us, developed our own truths, Lies tricked its own cradle; and as we prefer order above all things, the Ninth became the pure emptiness of order. The greatest, the Ur-Fiend of Chaos who reigns over their infinite realms of sin and corruption.
The Tenth’s fate remained a mystery, though some of our fellow ecclesial brothers and sisters believe, the true Null claimed it when the first worlds that the Primordial Divinities abandoned got hurled into the emptiness. They theorize hurling these worlds, these stars there shifted them, wakened the Null which changed Great Gods, Archfae and Celestial Dragons into the Thirteen Dread Lords of the Null Realms. Twelve of which our divinities wept for, except one, the greatest of the Dread Lords. The one many believe to be the first of them, and these theorists – to be the Tenth who routed into nothingness.
Children of the Gods and Archfae. And Those Blessed with Flesh and the Challenges of Mortality. By Orlyth, Godirn of the Nauheimian Temple of the Great Divinities.
Per the Records of Halguvhea – some of which she seemed to left behind – first came upon the lands of our world (Great Thulyandiv) my own kyndred, our sisterkynd the Aelfriths, and the Dwarves, our cousins schemed by Liteitvator, Great God of Crafts, Will and Creativity, Eternal-Husband of the Silvern Stag, Hjourvala, and Younger Divine-Brother to Viduthia–hence he is also known as the Handsome Father of Dwarves. Hence, unlike us dracoriths who gained the sharp, austere magnificence of our Divine Father Nadrediorn, or the Aelfriths who received the tender magnificence of Viduthia, the dwarves gained the blunter magnificence of Liteitvator augmented a little by the cold and lunar beauty of Hjourvala.
We three were stirred in the Crown of Thulyandiv, which later broke away into Nauheim. Here we settled, mingled and built our early societies, and further evolved in the shadow of the Elder Dragons whilst the Primordial and Great Gods continued their work south.
Around the same time, strange beasts began to stalk the lands south, migrated gradually north. Creatures bipedal like us as if designed by the Divinities, though none came forward to present their schematics. Walking beasts with traits of ape and boar beasts, who knew violence. Theories range that it may have been the early work of the nine Ur-Fiends, who attempted mimicking us and failed, in lack of Viduthia’s Magnificence. Still, the Divinities shown their grace to these beast-man, and with time, altered them into the first Humans. Though their development took longer, and involved intermingling with us and the Spirits-Given Flesh and Mortality in the east.
These former spirits that became mortals now we all know as the Soraitsun (Moonkynd) who tower even above us in height, and near-equals in exquisiteness to our Sisterkynd. Who settled on the east and built their kingdoms there, aligned to their own siblingkynd. First with the Kiritsun (also known as the Qilinkynd) who settled further east from them, who themselves passed on their own magnificence to the eastern tribes of humans who later evolved into the Soratanese. And who like these former spirits received the gift of reincarnation. Whilst it has been lost to history what kind of Spirits the Soraitsun were before their descent, we do know the Kirin are spirits of the Sun, of Light and Life, and Order. Unlike the Soraitsun who all chose to be mortal, only half of the Kirin chose this experience of ours. Tengitsun (Tengukynd) were the first who beget the gods and elder dragons for this gift. As spirits who thirst for challenges, battle with all its aspects, seeing the first mortals, these devilish looking spirits came to the courts of Nadrediorn and the Primordial Gods, and became a headache for the other two, until the sly Soraitsun promised them wars and conquest, and so became a permanent class of warriors and soldiers even in these days of the Hoshigawan Shogunate.
Since the rediscovery of Eoran, we did learn the Daotuath (known to us as the Fae-Touched Kyndred) were the third of Thulyandiv’s races who came to be once the western portions of the pan-continent floated away from the rest. Though because of our resilience bestowed upon us by Great Nadrediorn, and the three Spirits-Given Flesh and Mortality’s own resilience to be altered by others than the Primordial Divinities, only our sisterkynd, the dwarves and humans were changed by the Courts and their respective Archfaes. Which include not just the Fae-Touched of the Seasons or the Wilds, or of Valiance, or of Night and all that Lurks in the Dark. But those of the Mertuath (Merkynd) Touched by the Archfae of Seas, Viceroy of Halguvhea, or the Torcuath [Orckynd] whose origins are as mysterious as the appearance of the Humans bestial ancestors. Though a few friends of mine do believe Orcs and Humans came from these mysterious Ape-Boar humanoids, the orcs just got altered by the Archfae hence they kept their tusks.
Djinnui are the last children of Thulyandiv to be given their own form. Though unlike us, their existence, their form came unintended, but were welcome nonetheless–despite our past conflicts following the last battle against the legions of the Ur-Fiends. A race who came with the birth of their land, Kesothis. A race more uniformed in their qualities then us, yet after thousands of years, we are proud to call them our Siblingkynd. As the other Elder Dragons are considered the sole children of Nadrediorn, the Djinnui are the sole children of Viduthia – whom they call Anathria. Whom gave birth to them in her sorrow, after a great loss lost to the fog of history. All we know she manifested above the heavens, and a lone tear dribbled down towards The Crescent, where it formed into Kesothis, and on these lands were the pale people which the natives named Djinnui after the servitors of Viduthia.
A race as bestowed with a magnificence quasi-ethereal and feminine greater, more pronounced then the Aelfriths; a skin whiter than snow or the sands of the Shivering Desert’s; eyes peculiar in both shape and contents, their sclera an ever-shifting cavalcade of colors around their dark pupils of perfect circles, fitted within an elongated beady frame with an upcurving tail tapering towards their temples, sunken into their sockets, and covered by a translucent filmy layer into which their sclera spreads its colors when they cast their spells. And their silky hairs, possessing an unparalleled luster often described as akin to onyx, absorbing light whilst simultaneously reflects it. A quality I myself envy them for a little. But I digress my brothers and sisters.
Last are the two races similar to the Fae-Touched. And whilst their alterations are as great as theirs, in my humble opinion we should stop regarding them as different from us. First are those who descend from the Treachorous-Kynd, those who offered themselves to the Ur-Fiends and in their vile services, gained qualities fit more for demons and devils then mortal-kynd. Some call them Fiend-Tainted, other Stygians after the prison that still holds the Nine. Then there are the even rarer kynd, the ones I regard as the luckiest amongst us, those who blossomed from the seed of their Fathers, seeds bestowed by the Shard of a Divinity. Like the Black Rose herself, whose magnificence caused the birth of the Heleion Empire, fueled the ambitions of its twenty-three conquering emperors and empresses. Or the Brilliant Lillium, founder of the Wondrous Coven of the Silvern Stag, her own Divine Mother. Or the Emerald Enchantress of Grauburg, Yud the namesake of Yudao and its Divine King still worshipped under the reign of the Hoshigawans, or the infamous thief Rhommiriel, Godkynd of Taelikera, Great Goddess of Shadows, Trickery, Queen of Crows and Ravens, and Youngest Divine-Sister of Viduthia. And many others reminding us that the gods are watching and still loving us.
Updates:
- And the last update for the year. One with the inclusion of an author, something I wanted to do with the last entry of worldbuilding, but got too lazy.
- Now first things first. A little filling holes, that may be a bit confusing. Nadrediorn is the first being who gained conscience, and though he is recognized as the Elder Dragon of Time, Wisdom and Authority, he is not a manifestation of any of those. Each of those aspects of the world will have a respective gods, just haven’t expanded much. My focus went more on the Ur-Fiends [because of the rework on Stygians] and Nadrediorn, the Elder Dragons and Viduthia if I am being honest. A bit went on the God Father of Dwarves, and Hjourvala because got a few early ideas on the Maurnian Coven.
- What was passed over by Orlyg in the worldbuilding section, was the Elder Dragons. Though he mentions they awakened at the same time with the Primordial Gods, he doesn’t elaborate much on that. The sole reason for that, is because he is head of the Church focusing on the Gods, whilst at least in the Nauheim, there is a second church called the Temple of the First Roar, focusing on the worship of the Elder Dragons. Now the main difference between the two groups of divinities, is that Gods are the fundamental Aspects of Existence gained conscience, feelings and such, Elder Dragons are merely powerful spirits who with the exception of Nadrediorn, can tap into these Aspects.
- On their exact number, I am not fully settled on. But as of now, I wrote up five and may expand to seven or so, to match up the number of the Dracorith and Aelfrith subraces. One of these is of course Hjourvala, the Silvern Stag who altered some of the elves and dracoriths into their Moon and Snow subraces, whilst also being the adding some elements to the dwarves. Nadhegorn is another, who is known as the Black Elder of Night’s Dominance, The Winged Magistrate of Shadows, and the one who “created” the dark/night elves and dracoriths, and also the Umbral/Shadow Elves [and maybe Dracoriths, not fully decided on this one yet].
- Ur-Fiends are not that much developed yet, despite the progress on the cabal storyline. But one change I hand for them is to have nine of them, and whilst some of the Seven Deadly Sins got in, Dominance that is also known as Tyranny or Bondage [less sexual, though they may have a thing for Lust], Lies, Ruin or Destruction and pure Chaos got in. The Null for now is kinda a mystery to me too if I’m being honest. It is Void related, but it is also Undeath related. Best I could describe it as Lovecraft and DnD’s Negative Realm met on a dating app, had wild sex and birthed a mixture of Eldritch Horror and all things Undead/Undeath. Or at least that is the general idea I have for them, with their deities being essentially Divine Corpses animated and filled by something to be a bit more precise, but not too much.
- Archfae, I will expand on them later. It is a case similar to the focus on Primordial Gods. An actual member of the Archfae’s clergy will deliver a bit on them later next year [probably]. Great Gods are more of the aspects made during the Great Work who gained conscience, Celestial Dragons are the children of the Elder Dragons in a similar fashion to their own birth, but because of that, they are weaker and more numerous. And are classified as divine servitors and similar to the Soraitsun, Kiritsun and Tengutsun, some descended to be “mortals”. Spirits are just a generalized term for all kinds of divine servitors.
- Now for the races. Dracoriths became their own thing, but also gobbled up the Dragonkin. Or well essentially are the Dragonkin, but just called either as Dracoriths, Drachenkynd or Dragonkynd. They practically elves but with the more above-mentioned masculine magnificence with which Nadrediorn manifests in a more bipedal form [or depicted on art]. Though have some features unique to them, like females not having breasts, but instead of a slightly more protruding chest/ribcage with a diamond-shaped dent right in the middle. Dragonesque pupils and their eyes have these reptilian, filmy layer, snouts instead of developed noses, their brows are essentially a mixture of soft bone and hardened scale, usually arched or angled, some may even have ridged foreheads, with bone spurs where horns should be. And their ears are long like the elves, but serrated, and their fingers are covered in scale plates, and grow talons on both fingers and toes.
- Elves became more feminine to the point their males are extremely androgynous (femboy alert), possess hair only on their heads. Hence the whole Sisterkynd and Brotherkynd between the two races, beyond their perceived divine parentage. Oh, and less sharp features, though still sharp, I guess.
- Dwarves got a bit of makeup, became less stereotypical. In Thulyandiv. There will be dwarves in the standard fantasy sense, but for Thulyandivians, they are alien. Overall, they remained a short race, but less husky, more in the slender range. Though unlike the other two, can gain weight.
- Humans are humans. Though made them a bit more assimilating race, with some Far-Southerners having extremely dark skin because of mingling with dark elves and black dracoriths, which reflect in their societies more then in their appearances.
- Now there are the Spirit-Granted Flesh and Mortality Races, which were originally the humans. But wanted something different for the east. Hence came to be the Soraitsun whose mentioned height comes from their waist lengthier than the other races. Overall, they are a slim, lean race with a pale, pale blue, gray and silver skin tone range [some have silvern-crimson, who are often pursue a militant path], their ears resembling half a crescent moon with their strange curve, eyes with black sclera sprinkled with what in world they call starry-freckles, and large pupils that are silver uniformly. They also only have snouts, thin and wide lips and four canine teeth, and their nails have chromatic texture, dull in their luster during day, but gain a rich luminosity in night to accentuate their otherworldly nature.
- The Kiritsun are bit more mundane looking so to speak. Some in world may consider them eastern elves. One aspect of this is in their tapering, gaunt faces, though they do possess long and slightly tilted necks, with their males growing a mane on their necks that connects into their hair. Though their ears are shorter then elves or dracoriths. Best way I could describe in all honesty is elven east-asians that are tall, with longer necks, a dragonesque gauntness to their faces and bodies, and fair skin with a variety of golden undertones, hues for their association with the Sun and Light.
- Tengitsun are the third new race, and the ones whose names kinda describe their looks. One of my slight additions is that they received a bit of magnificence like all races from Viduthia, they also kept qualities that make them look devilish. Like skin sturdy as tempered steel, ears shaped devilishly, eyes with bold colored sclera and black pupils, bushy brows, and the angular nasal bridge with a tip that not always, but in some cases are elongated and curve upwards.
- Fae-Touched, Stygians/Fiend-Tainted and Godkynd remained the same all things considered. Just acknowledged that dwarves also exist within these groups.
- Lastly, the Djinnui who are the last of the new races. One I kinda had the most fun with. Most of what stands out with them got mentioned though, though they also have snouts with slit nostrils that are a bit diagonal in their position, in a strange way symmetrical with their eyes, as they both point outwards, at their temples. Besides that, they are also the only race with six fingered hands, ending in black talons of similar onyx-like quality. And visible veining that has the same effect as their sclera and the membranous layer around their eyes. And their ears, that are sharp and long as an elves, but the last quarter cambers up. Though I wished to retcon the Sakrath-Ib-Anath a bit further, Djinnui are still prominent members of that Coven. Instead went with the First Sultan of Shalaion whom the Twelve visited and propped up to be a Djinnui. And even the current ruler of Kesothis is a Djinnui. And honestly, I even entertained the idea of having Tawheeda be a Djinnui, as some other characters will get changed. Like Kaguyari will become a Soraitsun most likely.
- But anyhow, I rambled on enough again. The first chapter of the last story of Heleion will start on the 23rd next week. Because of that, the next update will come on the first week of 2026, where I’ll use this update section properly, mention the plans of 2026. Worldbuilding wise, will start with the Nations of Thulyandiv before I start rambling on the Covens, Circles, Guilds and such. So until the 23rd, take care folks and thank you for reading my rambling.
