Saturday Update October 3, 2020

I promised I would reveal what I am working on in this update, and I will… below. (Image at the bottom.)
But look at the character and tell me if you can tell who she is supposed to be. Helpful if you ever watched reruns of 60s sitcoms.
So, do you recognize her? I am more focused on a caricature than trying to get an exact copy of the person. This is the reason for the large anime eyes
When I came up with this idea it was supposed to be my third project, not my second. After starting I realized that the storyline would be limited. Especially after I decided that I wasn’t going to do any more than 7 characters. I thought of bringing in people from other shows from the 60s, but once I started this project, I realized that 7 people were enough. (And it helps that you will be looking out of the eyes of one of them.
At the same time the project that I was supposed to be working on just grew. The story became more complex, and I realized it was going to be too large for my next project, so I switched them.
The one problem with that was that I planned on spending a little extra time here and there working on the characters for this project. The goal to have these characters ready to go when I started making the game. Switching around these games kind of threw that into a little chaos.
Anyway, have you figured out who it is yet?
The name of this Visual Novel is:
Secret of the Island
A Gilligan’s Island parody
This character is supposed to be Mary Ann.
I still want to make some adjustments to this character, but I think I will be working on Ginger next, and come back later with fresh eyes.
In the story I took Gilligan’s Island and added a little twist that changes the whole story, but it fits really well. In fact, it kind of makes sense.
Without giving too much away, Gilligan again causes an attempt to get off the island to fail. He feels bad enough about it that he decides to move to another part of the island and just let them try to get off the island without him ruining things.
While sneaking away he runs into something that completely changes the story, and nothing is as it seems on the island. They were supposed to fail to get off the island. It was never an accident, and according to plan.
I won’t go into more detail here, and let people find out when they play through the introduction.
And an update on my personal life.
My SM (Sugar Mama) is slowly improving, and taking back some of the things I have been doing for her. Not much as of yet, but she is doing what she can do. She is already getting her breakfast, as long as it’s cereal, and coffee.
I haven’t heard any more about the legal issues, so I think they just decided to go away. At least that’s the hope. (I may be repeating myself here.)
But one thing I haven’t mentioned is an issue with my right arm. It isn’t really affecting my ability to work on the visual novels, but I do need to see the physical therapist, and do some exercises at home to hopefully help fix the issue. I had to modify my desk to accommodate for the issue. The mouse position might have been causing the issue, so now it is more ergonomic.
Fixing the desk was quite painful for me, even though other than being a little sore, working at my desk wasn’t painful. But how I had it set up may have been causing the issue.
Anyway good luck, and I hope people give this game a chance, and hope I don’t end up taking forever to get it started.
