Garden of Venus's future

Alright everyone, time to explain some things and also outline what GoV's future will look like (spoiler: yes, it still has one).

First things first, a big thank you to everyone who supported it so far, despite the recent drought on the GoV-side of things.

Trust us when we say, we haven't been happy with how things have been going with GoV on our end, either.

Simply put, it's pretty obvious by now that GoV isn't working out as a side-project where 90% of the work has to be done by a dangerously-close-to-burnout guy who needed and still needs most of his time and energy for finishing TM and the first release of his next main project, and the idea of "small, but in return frequent" updates didn't work out on the "frequent" part as a result, while it seems people were also hesitant to subscribe for such small releases.

It's pretty obvious the current situation isn't sustainable, so to save GoV as a project, there will be some significant changes.

First of all: This page will be put in vacancies mode for the rest of November, so all remaining paid subscribers can stay subscribed for now without worrying about spending money this month (it's NNN anyway, we only released GoV 0.4 for those who don't care ^^).

Now for the actual changes:

Change No.1: Different dev team
This project will no longer be lead-developed by OnionCuttingNinja, it'll be taken over by a small team, though he'll still help out for a while.
Don't expect a massive increase of dev pace, as everyone involved has some other things going on in some form, but we'll ensure you'll get more bang-for-buck from now on anyway, more on that below.

Change No.2: Different dev team name, itch page and Discord
The dev team will work under a new dev team name, itch.io page and discord server, to reflect the personnel changes. Details will be announced here later.

Change No.3: GoV will become SubscribeStar-only
GoV will become a SubscribeStar-only-funded project for the forseeable future, and GoV content will be removed from OCN's patreon page at the end of November.
This isn't content-related, and GoV might still get it's own patreon page at some point, but for now, to keep the organisational overhead down for everyone involved while the new team is still settling in, that's how it'll be (note that there are no new updates planned for the next couple of weeks anyway).
OCN's content will be removed from the SubStar-page (TM is finished anyway, and his next project will simply stay patreon-only) in turn to keep the dev teams cleanly separated, we'll instead improve the GoV bang-for-buck in a different way:

Change No.4: The approach to releases will be turned upside down
Instead of small releases every few weeks with only minutes of new content, the plan is that there will be a bigger release every 2-3 months, with several new events and sandbox activities per update.
After each such release, we recommend you to either drop back to a lower tier, or become a free follower until next release.
We might even put the page in vacancies mode for a month after each update, although we think those who want to keep supporting us between releases should have the opportunity to do so, so this isn't set in stone yet.

Anyway, now you know what to expect.

Again, thank you to everyone who supported the game so far, we have every intention to make future updates worth your while, and maybe even improve the quality and uniqueness of content in the process.
