Version 0.4.2:

New Content:

  • 97 New Renders
  • 43 New Animations
  • 2 New Gallery Images
  • 2 Gallery Images Remade
  • 1 New Scene
  • 7 New Songs
  • 39 Songs Rearranged

New Features:

  • Switch Poster Orientation: It's now possible to change the orientation of the posters, both in story mode and in the gallery.
Furthermore, the posters now remember their current positions individually, causing them to return to the exact spot where they were when the player last left them. (Not applicable to the Android version.)
  • Animated Title Screen: A new animated title screen has been added to the game, improving the game's presentation.
  • Animated Intro: A new animated intro has been added to the game, playing before the title screen.
It introduces the characters and showcases gameplay elements, offering a brief glimpse of what the player will experience.
  • Music Menu: A new Music Menu has been added to the game.
All songs that have been heard at least once during gameplay will be listed in this menu.
You can listen to them again at your leisure, including skipping to specific parts of the track or playing them on a loop, among other standard media player functions.
It's also possible to see the number of listened songs compared to the total number of songs available in the game.
  • Full Soundtrack Rework: The vast majority of the game's existing tracks (39 in total) have been reworked.
This resulted in improved quality across all tracks, while also modernizing them and adding a touch of originality.
The soundtrack now has the unique feel of the Living in a Brothel game.
  • Native Gamepad Support: All PC versions will now feature gamepad support, no longer relying on the Steam API to function.
This means that, regardless of the store where you purchased the game, there will be gamepad support. (Not applicable to the Android version.)
  • Full Controls Overhaul: All game screens have been reworked to include direct controls via gamepad buttons.
These commands also have buttons for the same function on the keyboard and, some of them, even on the mouse.
Now the game has 3 controller modes: Gamepad, Keyboard, and Mouse.
The game will dynamically alternate the buttons on the screen according to the player's last input, allowing switching between these 3 controllers in real time.
Different icon sets (Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, Steam, and Generic) have also been included so that the on-screen icons match your gamepad as closely as possible, with the ability to switch freely between them. (Not applicable to the Android version.)
  • Backend Overhaul: A complete overhaul of the backend code of all the game's screens was done.
There was optimization, simplification, and improvement of the code in general.
A vast number of bugs have been fixed across various parts of the game, ranging from simple issues to game-breaking ones.
  • General Design Changes: Changes to the game's design were also made to make it clearer and more intuitive for the player.
Certain menus that were previously accessed within other menus have been separated and are now accessed directly from the Main Menu.
The first and last pages can now be freely cycled through on some screens, allowing faster access to more distant pages.
The alignment of various buttons across multiple screens has also been improved.
Labels and text now feature outlines, with lights, shadows, and depth. This improves readability for light text on light backgrounds, as well as dark text on dark backgrounds.
  • Tutorials Overhaul: The tutorials have been redesigned to accommodate the changes resulting from gamepad support.
They were also updated to include new elements found in the latest versions of the game.
Furthermore, the screen elements shown in the tutorials now update dynamically, automatically adapting to any future changes those screens might undergo, such as the addition of new images to the Gallery screen, for instance.
Some tutorials that were previously presented together (such as Gallery and Achievements; Replays and Tutorials) are now separate and independent.
Finally, new tutorials have been included to introduce features that previously lacked adequate explanations, helping new players familiarize themselves with the game's mechanics.

Episode 5 Introduction:

  • The first hour of Episode 5 was included early.
This includes the opening dialogue with Lara and an intense sex scene with Beatrice.
This offers a brief glimpse of what's to come in Episode 5.

Version 0.4.1:

Fucking Your Customer Scene Remake:

Fixed an issue where the main character had female nails in some parts of this scene.
To do this, we needed to redo several renders and animations:

  • 19 Renders Remade
  • 7 Animations Remade

Improvements:

  • Gamepad A Button Update: The gamepad A button now functions similarly to the left mouse button instead of the Enter button as it did previously.
This allows you to drag and collect Secret Cards from posters. (Steam Version Only)

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed a bug where clicking on some Gallery Image thumbnails in the menu would incorrectly display a different Gallery Image than the one selected.

Version 0.4.0:

New Content:

  • 283 New Renders
  • 61 New Animations
  • 7 New Gallery Images
  • 7 New Scenes
  • 5 New Songs
  • 2 New Achievements
  • 2 Gallery Images were turned into animations

New Features:

  • Exploring the City: Now the player will be able to access other parts of the city by exiting through the bar's entrance door.
For now, the only accessible location is the gym, but in the future, more locations in the city will be accessible as the story progresses.
  • Steam Cloud Support: Added support for the Steam Cloud feature.
You can now share your save between different devices when playing the Steam version, as well as keep a backup of your save in the cloud.

Improvements:

  • Monochromatic Effect: The code related to the monochromatic effect, which is used in character memories, has been optimized.
It's now possible to use this effect in animations.
  • Updated Achievements Requirements: The requirements for unlock the achievements listed in the Achievement Menu have been updated to include the new content in this version.
Players will need to complete the requirements related to the new content in order to unlock achievements that were previously present in the game.
  • Automatic New Clothes: The code related to the implementation of renders that change the character's outfit depending on the day the game is in has been optimized.
Now, new outfits that appears in future updates will be included automatically, without the need for changes to the code.
  • Way to unlock Gallery Images updated: 13 Gallery Images that were previously automatically unlocked in bulk are now unlocked via Secret Cards or through the main storyline, one by one.
  • Jackpot Animation: When you hit a Jackpot in the Slot Machine Minigame, an animation is played along with the previously existing sound effect from now on.
  • Performance Boost: We have optimized the use of cache memory and RAM, ensuring a significant performance gain. On the other hand, the game's RAM usage has increased and, consequently, the required specifications.
This has resulted in faster loading of game files, which can be especially noticeable in animations, which now run smoothly. You'll also notice that the game will respond more quickly to your inputs from now on.

Adjustments:

  • Committed Reader Achievement: We've reduced the percentage of script that must be read to unlock this achievement from 95% to 90%.
This achievement was harder to unlock than we planned, so we've adjusted the requirements to make it easier for players to reach.
  • Diagonal Jackpots: From now on, when you manage to line up 3 "7s" or 3 "BARs" diagonally in the Slot Machine Minigame, it'll count as a Jackpot.
We initially decided to only count a Jackpot when you lined up 3 "7s" or 3 "BARs" in the center, as we wanted this to be a hard achievement to unlock, but we felt that the difficulty was higher than we had planned.
This change should make it easier to unlock the Jackpot achievement, while still keeping it sufficiently challenging.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed a bug where "The Curious Girl" scene was unlocked in the Replay section before being completed during gameplay.
  • Fixed a bug where, in specific situations, character icons would not load during mobile conversations, messing up the layout, and consequently, it was not possible to read them properly.

Version 0.3.1:

New Content:

  • 64 New Renders
  • 25 New Animations
  • 6 New Gallery Images
  • 1 New Scene
  • 1 New Song

New Features:

  • Hide the Dialog Box: Now the keyboard H key, the middle mouse button and the gamepad Y button hide the dialog box, allowing the player to see the image or animation that is being displayed on the screen without anything getting in the way.
  • Gamepad Support: You can now use gamepads to play Living in a Brothel.
They depend on the Steam API to work properly. Therefore, gamepads only works in the Steam version.
We recommend using the "Official Layout for Living In A Brothel - Gamepad Configuration" in Steam Controller Settings, but you are free to remap them as you prefer. Despite this, ingame references to gamepad buttons are based on this configuration.
  • Steam Deck Support: You can now play Living in a Brothel natively on your Steam Deck.
We adapted the game to meet Valve's technical requirements, so you should now be able to play on your Steam Deck without any issues.
  • Walkthrough Button: A Walkthrough button will be displayed on the title screen if the game detects that the player has the walkthrough downloaded in the game/walkthrough folder.

Improvements:

  • Help Screen: The help screen has been updated to show gamepad commands, if it's connected.
  • Gamepad Glyphs Support: Tutorials and in-game spots that show buttons will now show the gamepad buttons if one is connected or the player is playing on the Steam Deck.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed an important bug where, when pressing the arrow keys on a screen where there is a Secret Card, it was revealed.
  • Fixed a bug where, if the player changed the value of the "Text Speed" option, non-loopable animations would have an incorrect duration.
  • Fixed a bug where, in some cases during a replay, the "Save Screen" was shown incorrectly when opening the Game Menu. The "History Screen" is now shown instead.

  • Completion Bars: Now all screens have a completion bar showing how much progress you've made in relation to the total present in the game.
  • Jackpot Count: Now the amount of times you hit a Jackpot in the Slot Machine Minigame is counted for each difficulty.
  • The overall game size has been reduced: The game images have been compressed, so the game size has been significantly reduced, with a minimal loss of quality.
This brings numerous advantages, such as faster file loading, which ensures a small performance boost, in addition to taking up less space on the user's device, which makes an important difference on mobiles.

Before it was hidden behind the virtual keyboard, now it appears at the top of the screen.
