Harmony Girls Post Release Assessment

Now that v0.5.2 is behind me, I wanted to analyze the update and talk about it, and then discuss the next step for Harmony Girls. I know many of you are free members, and so you might be out of the loop for the long development time of v0.5.2, so I should fill you all in on this development cycle.

My original intent for this update was about 6 weeks of development. That would roughly lead to ~8-9 weeks between releases, as I had a family vacation in August where development wasn't occurring. Instead, the animations in this update included some very difficult body positions, and the big pitfall were the fluid simulations I had to make. I've learned a tremendous amount about fluid simulations from this trial, but it added to development time considerably.

And when it rains, sometimes it pours. In this update, my life was a hurricane. My grandfather passed away, and I attended his memorial service for a week. I also came down with the worst bout of COVID I have ever had. It devastated me, wrecking my sleep, and lingered after the initial illness for an additional week of fatigue and a migraine that I just could not shake off.

But all of this is behind me now, so let's look forward to the next update in development. I've just started work on v0.5.5, and I'm hoping to stick to a 6-week development timeline. Now, I will be out of town in a couple of weeks to spend time with my last remaining grandparent, my grandma, to get quality time with her while I still can. After that, I'm free for months and months with no major plans. There's only one thing that may slow development in this update, and that's the UI rework. The artist I'm working with is making great progress and it's possible they're finished before this update is complete. If that's the case, I would spend the time integrating the new UI elements as fast as possible, something Harmony Girls desperately needs.

Outside of timelines, Harmony Girls is hitting an inflection point in the story, an exciting time for development for me. With every event and character dialogue, we're getting closer and closer to the end, and I'm beginning to see the mountain top in the distance. Thanks to everyone for your interest, and a big thanks to all my supporters who help make this game a reality! I'm gonna get the ball rolling on v0.5.5 and I'll see all of my supporters in the development log next Monday!

Soaked Secrets: A Kinky Chronicle

I'm excited to announce a new project I've started working on recently. So here it is! Soaked Secrets: A Kinky Chronicle will be a two part project, a visual novel built in Ren'Py, and a video series. The visual novel will have more detail and dialogue, and will take place in the first person present-tense perspective. The video series will be different, presented as a diary series in the first person past-tense perspective, and narrated with an AI voiceover. There's a lot of information I can give about both formats, but I need to keep this initial post short, so I'll be adding details later on in development posts.

If you haven't already figured it out, Soaked Secrets will differ from Harmony Girls as it'll focus on a singular kink, watersports. The scale of the project is quite a bit smaller than Harmony Girls, as the number of girls and narrow focus of content will limit the size of the end result. There's only so much I can explore with this content before things become repetitive and less exciting. As it stands, I've planned for 21 episodes of content, with each episode containing a single scene. There will be a lot less backstory for the game and series as I want to focus on the action. For the content itself, Soaked Secrets will focus on exploration of watersports, starting slow and progressively ramping up as the girls feel more comfortable.

Speaking of the girls, the story will feature two of them, Mia and Chloe. For the game version, you'll be able to change their names as you see fit. You'll find some information about Mia, our main character, and her friend Chloe in the preview images below. Soaked Secrets will also include a couple of guys, but they won't be introduced until later in the story. For now, the girls will be doing their exploration solo or with each other.

And since this is an announcement post, so some of you reading may not have played Harmony Girls before, I'll talk a little bit about what to expect from the content in the game. I strive for high quality content, and since working on Harmony Girls I've honed my skills with animation and fluid simulation. All sex and urination scenes will feature realistic animations and simulations, and still renders will be used for dialogue. I want this project to represent everything I've learned in the past years of development, and Soaked Secrets should be THE game for anyone with a watersports kink to play.

Speaking of which, development is currently in its infancy and I won't be releasing anything until I feel like I have enough content finished. I've commissioned an artist to build the Ren'Py GUI, and they've also made the logo for the game that you can see already. I'll be spending a little time away from Harmony Girls while I work on Soaked Secrets, but Harmony Girls will still receive most of my development time. I'll make sure to have a good balance between the two so Harmony Girls has a good release time in the future.

And I think that about wraps up my announcement and current intentions for the project. I'll be releasing more information as development continues, and I can address any questions you all may have, though I may not always have an answer. As with every new release, there's a chance to encounter bugs. If you find a bug, please please please send me a message or report it in the discord, discord being the best place to report them since it's easier to communicate and share files if needed. I can help you supply any information I need to fix it and I can typically fix bugs in just a few minutes.

Translations are currently in a beta test while I update some UI elements and do my best to make sure everything is translated. It's possible there are some UI elements that remain untranslated or words that overflow the box they were meant to be contained in. It's also a machine translation, and although it uses a pretty smart LLM, it won't be perfect. Unfortunately, I don't have the budget to commission full translations currently, but I've had a number of requests for translations and this is the next best thing.
