A bit early, but I figured people wouldn't mind! 🎃

As promised, here are the first ever Jezebel halloween costumes, in what I'm hoping will become a yearly tradition!

I feel like the Erika/August one is pretty self-explanatory, but the Dragana one was difficult for me to pick out. I wanted her to play to her strengths and be another sexy, dignified warrior this year, and I arrived at Artemis because she always was my favourite character in those games. Veska as Alice is rooted in me finding the idea of her in that character's shoes, being terrified rather than adventurous and curious, funny. Duvessa's was the biggest no-brainer for me when I came up with the idea. Celestia is likely one of her character influences; I got into Danganronpa super early when I was younger, and I do believe she kickstarted my appreciation of goth girls back when I was playing the original on the PS Vita.

Which is your favourite?

Thank you all so very much for your patience through this completely unplanned 3 week hiatus from these status updates. As I said in the discord, though I have been busy, the real reason I wasn't posting was because I didn't have it in me to give another excuse about the bonus story releasing, so I resolved not to continue until it had been. In case you missed it, Bonus Story 12 is out now, and 13 will be out soon. Something like this definitely won't happen again, but I do think I need to make a few slight changes to my process to avoid it. From now on, I'm not gonna make any claims about when something I'm releasing is coming out until it's almost completely finished, as I have a big tendency to underestimate how long something will take to work on. I've also never been particularly enthused about Sunday as the day for these status updates, so I'll be changing them to a Monday release from now on.

I'm happy to announce that writing for the next episode is properly underway and the planning process is over with. Said planning period was totally worth it, as I'm now in a position where I can easily find time to write without having to grapple with the question of where things are going in a broader sense. I'd love to be completely done with the writing and at least mostly done with the art comissions, of which I'll begin making en masse in November, by the end of the calendar year.

The Halloween costume artwork for the popularity contest winners is also coming along nicely, and I'm excited to share it in a few days. Who do you think would make for the best character costume Duvessa could wear? Maybe I'll use one of your ideas next year XD

That's all from me, but I'll very much see you soon, much sooner than last time! :)

It's official! Duvessa, Veska, and Dragana presently occupy the podium of the top 3 female characters, as voted by you! Just as promised, these three will be receiving special artwork closer to Halloween. I'm not gonna lie, tho...I have an idea for Erika that I really like, so she's probably getting one too. Apologies, Priscilla fans...I know this isn't exactly democratic.

Some of the results here were pretty unsurprising (first place winner most of all, of course), but others were rather unexpected. I wasn't anticipating Veska coming in at second at all, and I consider it valuable info that people have taken to her so much! She ended up with almost half as many votes as Duvessa got, which is no small feat. I think my favourite placement here, however, is Kristina at last. I can't think of anything more fitting and in-character than that. XD
