Monthly Updates: August of 2026
Writing Progression:
Welcome, dear readers of mine! So far, this month was quite fruitful.
The first Bound Diaries story had been finished. Rewriting and editing both. A story focusing on Astrydril and Lyanrei, having a bit too much alcohol, resulting in some kinky mistakes. Will feature a bit of rope bondage, suspension, black sealing tape, railing and feet stuff.
The second, I am nearly done with editing, rewriting. The ending is a bit of a challenge, but hope to finish it by the weekend. This is the one set in the mountain academy once featured a two years ago I believe. This one is kinky too, featuring sealing tape, a quite feminine Snow-Scaled Circle exchange student, and two rivals.
The third, I’ll plan to finish early next week. This one is in the Annals of Fortune and Glory set of tales, with a singular POV focusing on a new character unaffiliated with any of the Eminent Covens or Circles (for the most part). It may not require that much editing, as I worked on this one slow and steady, done some edits on it on last Sunday.
Now for Spookinktober, as mentioned (I think), will feature tales based on some selected horror tales I liked and could see a way to turn into kinky horror tales. One, that has inspired already some arts, is The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe, the second will be based on M.R James’s The Mezzotint, and as of now, I am pondering whether to have a third one, or be virtuous and be content with these two.
There have been some other progresses, but I’ll leave those for next month’s updates. Now, onto the next section.
Worldbuilding Progression:
This month’s worldbuilding progression had been a bit slow. Focused more on writing, on editing. Still, did work on some backgrounds for characters that will feature in the next big story, and continued expanding the Draunneath Grand Covenant, working on its castes, and on its branches, alongside their vogue and arsenal.
So, for this month, I want to focus this bit on a bit of meta-lore, as the next story starting on the 23rd is a revision of my first story.
Specifically, the two factions featured in the story.
Starting with the Black Rose Coven, I must begin with an admittance, that the Archives of Heleion, and now Tales of Thulyandiv is not my first fiction. They are my first smut-oriented fiction, but all together, it is the third. The first was an isekai that I abandoned years ago and repurposed into my second work published under a different name/acc as I like to keep things separate.
Heleion/Thulyandiv I began after wasting a month fucking around in AI Dungeon, turning quick games into smut shit. To the point I started developing a faction, a world, and halfway through realized, I could just do it without Ai Dungeon. Though technically, now that I reminisce of those times, I did start writing smut earlier, somewhere in the mid-2010s, but it never went beyond a few paragraphs (it was military/espionage focused, and I think included elves and catgirls, demihumans), though that tale did become a part of the Coven of the Forsaken.
Anyways, in Ai Dungeon, the world itself was one of their presets that only had humans and demons I believe, so technically the first iteration of the Black Rose Coven was just a group of human witches that were ethereally beautiful, with the Forsaken being demon worshipping ones. Shadows Over the Academy itself was a “campaign” there, which at the time I just copied and rewritten as I my focus was still on my Isekai at the time.
But as I was progressing with that, I decided, why should I not add fantasy races in. Which at the time, were all using DnD terms (drows, tieflings). And from a branch or large group of a grander Guild of Adventurers, they became an Eminent Coven (a name that took me 3 or 4 years). The idea was to have a world, where instead of megacorporations, there are mega witch covens and magi circles. Though megacorporations did find their way in.
Though my one regret now is that I haven’t made the north matriarchic. But at this point, whilst they haven’t been featured that much, I grew to love the Snow-Scaled Circle.
Now, the Coven of the Forsaken. At the time, they remained as devil/demon worshipping witches, expanded on by making most of their members rejects and expelled members of the Black Roses. It presented a good reasoning for their infiltration of the academy, beyond just being fantasy terrorists. Then as the story progressed, I also wished to slowly introduce others, friends and foes, so for the latter, decided to have them just be a splinter group of a greater. First, it was a proto-Cabal, but then at the finish line, decided to have it be instead the Imperial Family, specifically the Empress-Dowager who herself became the second major antagonist.
Then, they had one last cameo in the Great War, where I wanted to feature demons for the first time. A decision made without much thinking, just me realizing that demons and devils got mentioned by then a few times, but seldom if at all featured. Lorewise, after that incident, they disbanded, and the remaining members fled Nauheim. Some joined the Null worshipping cult of the Regent-President (then, the third major antagonist), one fled and became a mobster in the Midnight Isles, the rest just joined other, smaller outlaw covens and circles, or just became law-abiding citizens.
With that the history of the Coven of the Forsaken came upon its end. And they remain so, though others followed, and will follow in their footsteps. As of right now, beyond doing an occasional revision of an old story, I do plan to also expand that era. On a finishing note, on them, the “Cabal” kinda started out with the idea of Coven of the Forsaken 2.0.
To some extent, they are, but in a wider scale, without saying too much. Though, this time around, they are a diverse cast of antagonists. Still, some of them have a beef with Lythienne, and certain elderlies of the magocratic nations.
Now for the last part. Astrydril. She started out as Amelia if I recall it correctly. When I began writing it, the idea was to have her as the main point of view, with secondary POVs being Red Shirts, unfortunate guard who end up bound and gagged. And I managed to keep her as the main character up until the third story of the Coven Arc.
But then I got cold feet, and a bit uncertain on her character. The cold feet came from me enjoying leaping from POV to POV, and not having to memorize their parts in previous chapters. Hence why she barely appeared in the Colonial War arc. That, and as I began working on the Great War arc, I realized I wanted to shift my work to be an anthology. That and my other fiction needed some focus, as that has like 8 or 9 prominent characters. So, it mentally was just too much, as I was also trying to figure out a working schedule (presently, just decided to be slow and steady).
Regarding her character, at the time, I could not decide what her backstory should be, whether her being an orphan would mean anything, or if it was just a convenience so to speak. But as the years passed, and I began revisiting her in the Great War arc and the second iteration, realized I had another problem with her.
Her looks. On paper, I liked the idea of an elven tiefling, an ethereal, unparalleled beauty of infernal and divine magnificence. On paper. That damned horn bothered me for a long while, and while her ability to make it disappear worked for one story, it continued nagging my mind. Also, on occasion I forgot how dark elves are my favorite race (whether they are pale or dark skinned). So, after deciding to do revisions, she got into my crosshair.
I won’t say much on her looks, but I’ll admit, now I feel better, and she’ll be more prominently featured. At least two times a year, if not more. Will definitely appear next year in the next main story, and will probably appear somewhere in the Second Great War. She’ll probably be a more active Hersith than Lythienne.
Lyanrei likewise will appear more, as she was also meant to be a second main character. Though she changed little. I was always satisfied with her looks.
Almost the same is true for Lythienne. Almost. She presents the same problem in my mind like Dumbledore, hence why she received some nerfs in the Great War arc’s end (the loss of her total control over the Black Rose Coven, birth of the council of Hersiths). Making her a mixture of M and Dumbledore though helped, but like Astrydril, her past and how it will effect the future, is a bit of a challenge I am working on. But I don’t want to say much on this, as the Cabal storyline is only at its halfway point.
There is Hersith Aldrimme (formerly Aurea), who I had plans for in the early days to be this elegant, gracious berserker, but I always get cold feet when it comes to powerful characters. Even have an early note, where I entertained the idea of her being the main or secondary antagonist of the Colonial War arc, but the Black Roses got shafted there a bit for the Imperials.
And by the Great War arc, I kinda forgot about her. Coming up with new characters do have that effect as I came to realize it.
Anyhow, I’ll end the rambling here. As always, thank you for reading these, till the 23rd, take care and do not forget to hydrate yourselves in these scorching weeks.
