The new episode has been pirated in less than 24 hours! π²
Hey, people! Yesterday and today, I received many messages from IoM supporters informing me that the new episode had been posted on pirate platforms less than 24 hours after its release. π² People write to me, concerned if I feel bad, if I get discouraged, or if that makes me lose my motivation.Β
Don't worry about it, it's something I can't control, and it will always happen, since the game is so popular and there are people all over the world waiting for new updates. I guess it's a side effect of IoM's success. π
The truth is, I couldn't have a better community π. Knowing that you care about me is simply incredible. ππ
My focus is on the great community that makes up IoM π, on all the women and men who play IoM and who decide to support me so that I can continue. With a community like this, it's impossible to lose motivation. In fact, the messages I received yesterday motivate me even more!!!
However, there are some things that concern me right now, and I'm going to share them π²:
1) How can I ensure you don't have to wait so long for each update?
2) That I can finally publish the new episode on Steam... The community there is huge, and they are eager to purchase the game and have it in their Steam library. If the game isn't accepted/released soon, I feel like they'll come after me to burn me alive! π₯π
But don't worry, Steam players, I'm doing everything I can, and as soon as I get the final green light, I'll make a post to let you know when it's available. π
3) The size of the game is growing rapidly, mainly due to the number of animations added in the new episode (and in the future, obviously, I plan to keep adding more). It's becoming very difficult to maintain the Android version, which has a size limit of 2GB, so it's likely that in the future, I won't be able to continue maintaining an Android version. π²
Those are my current concerns, the points I want to improve, and what's on my mind right now. (Along with tomorrow's release and Sunday's release for subscribers of those levels.)
The person who pirated the game is here, he becomes a subscriber just to be able to pirate the game, so he's probably reading this message, all I can say is that I feel sorry for you, if what makes you happy in life is trying to make a solo game developer miserable by sharing his 8-9 months of work for free... You must be a very sad person, so I feel sorry for you, and I know you'll do it again. I hope you can be a little happier in life, champ. π (Jessica is a little more direct than I am and likes to protect Marci; she's giving you the middle finger right now πππ)
* Also, consider that the popularity of my game can be used to introduce viruses or harmful software and cause even more harm to those who download it from pirate links.
In short, my focus is on the people who decide to support me and how to do better things for you. Messages of concern are greatly appreciated; it's incredible and unique support, so thank you, thank you, and thank you again. π
On Saturday the 15th or Sunday the 16th of this month, I plan to make a post along with a poll with ideas to make the next update faster. This has pros and cons, and I want to lay them out clearly to see if we can all test it out and see how it works for the next update. We'll see how it goes. π
I hope you are all having an incredible Tuesday, and tomorrow, the second release of S2E3 is coming! π€©π€©π€©
